Family Relationship Predictors of Parent-Adolescent Conflict: Cross-Cultural Similarities and Differences

  • The purpose of the present study was to examine how dimensions of socialization practice and relationship quality may function to manage or increase parent-adolescent conflict. Of particular concern was to examine the comparative efficacy of potential predictors of parent-adolescent conflict across three cultural groups consisting of samples from Mainland China, Russia, and the U.S. as well as across gender-of-parent/gender-of-adolescent dyads from each culture. Findings from a sample of 1,365 adolescents indicated that adolescents' perceptions of parental influences on parent-adolescent conflict differ across cultural groups and gender-of-adolescent. The use of punitive behavior by parents was the strongest and most consistent predictor of parent-adolescent conflict across all cultural groups and gender dyads, suggesting that a general pattern exists for punitiveness to increase parent-adolescent conflict cross-culturally. Perceptions of support, monitoring, conformity to parents, and autonomy from parents influenced parent-adolescent conflict within some of the cultures and selectively for adolescent boys and girls.

  • Organizational culture has been recognized as a determinant of corporate Effectiveness. Cultural components could affect corporate Effectiveness to different extents. However, it seems that none of the previous studies have evaluated and compared these influential extents of cultural components. The current research applies analytic hierarchy processes to assess and rate the significance extents that, cultural components play in resulting in corporate Effectiveness. Then, the current work utilizes regression analyses to re-evaluate the significance extents for the robustness of analytic hierarchy processes. The findings indicate that clan culture is the most vital component in explaining corporate Effectiveness. In contrast, adhocracy culture is the least important component in affecting corporate Effectiveness. Market culture is a cultural component that is ranked the second in determining corporate Effectiveness, and next is hierarchy culture which is the third. The findings are in support of the positive influences of clan, market, and adhocracy cultures on corporate Effectiveness; whereas it found the negative impact of hierarchy culture on corporate Effectiveness.

문화자본 격차 해소를 위한 공공도서관의 역할 (Roles of Public Libraries in Closing Disparities of Cultural Capital)

  • 일반적으로 문화자본은 개인의 문화 활동을 촉진하는 문화적 환경을 통해 형성된다고 알려져 왔다. 공공도서관은 사람들이 다양한 문화 활동을 수행할 수 있는 환경을 제공함으로써 문화자본의 형성을 지원하는 역할을 수행해 왔지만, 현재의 진화하는 문화 환경에서도 공공도서관이 여전히 문화자본의 형성에 영향을 미치고 있는지에 대한 논란이 제기되어 왔다. 본 연구는 공공도서관 이용자를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 문화자본 형성에 있어 공공도서관이 어떠한 역할을 수행하고 있는지를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 문화기관으로서의 공공도서관은 문화자원에 대한 접근 및 활용, 다양한 문화 활동을 경험할 수 있는 기회를 제공하는데 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났으며, 이는 다양한 유형의 문화자본 형성으로 이어지고 있다. 또한 공공도서관은 커뮤니티 구성원들이 문화자본을 형성할 수 있는 평등한 기회를 제공함으로써 문화적 격차와 사회적 격차를 해소하는 역할을 수행하고 있다.

일 지역 보건진료원의 문화적 역량 (A Study on the Cultural Competence of Community Health Practitioners)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to describe the cultural competence among community health practitioners (CHPs). Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study design was used with a convenience sample of 257 CHPs. Data collection was conducted with a structured questionnaire, including Cultural Competence Assessment. Data were analyzed by t-test and ANOVA with the SPSS/WIN 17.0 program. Results: Most participants reported a moderate level of cultural competence (M=3.0,SD=0.41). Scores for culturally competent behaviors were high (M=3.4, SD=0.48) and cultural knowledge scores were low (M=2.6, SD=0.54). Those CHPs who were living with their family, were working in rural area, and had more opportunities to contact with multicultural patients and experience abroad showed significantly higher cultural competence. Conclusion: The findings support the need for future education and training to enhance CHPs' cultural competence.

  • 본 연구는 사회복지사, 교사, 간호사, 사회복지공무원의 문화적 역량 현황과 선행요인을 파악하기 위해 진행되었다. 연구결과 교사의 문화적 역량이 가장 높았으며 사회복지사, 공무원, 간호사 순이었다. 문화적 역량 선행요인으로는 연령, 교육수준, 외국어구사여부, 다문화업무시간, 종사기간, 교육훈련시간, 조직의 지원이 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었으며, 각 직군 간에 유의미한 선행요인에도 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과를 토대로 문화적 역량을 제고하기 위한 정책적 방향과 실천적 함의를 제시하였다.

공공도서관 문화프로그램 지원방안 연구 (A Study on the Supporting Strategy of Cultural Programs in Korean Public Libraries)

  • 공공도서관에서 문화프로그램 업무가 전체업무의 30% 이상을 차지하는 핵심 업무로 부각됨에 따라 국가차원의 지원방안이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 전국 88개 공공도서관의 문화프로그램 운영 현황 및 지원요구 사항을 기초로 하여 정부기관 지역대표도서관 차원에서의 지원 사항을 6개 분야에서 제시하였다. 연구방법으로는 문헌연구와 전문가협의를 통하여 지원방안을 모색하였다. 제안 분야는 (1) 자문위원회 운영, (2) 프로그램 모형 개발 보급, (3) 프로그램 패키지개발, (4) 실무자 교육프로그램 개발 및 시행, (5) 자원(지역프로그램, 강사)보급을 위한 DB구축과 연결망이다.

Research on the Evaluation and Promotion Plan of Competitiveness of Chinese Cultural and Creative Industries - Taking Provinces and Cities Along the "Belt and Road" As an Example

  • With the rapid growth of high-tech, the development of cultural and creative industries has gradually become the focus of national industrial development. With the proposal of China's "Belt and Road" strategy, the role of cultural and creative industries in the provinces and cities along the "Belt and Road" in the entire international trade is becoming increasingly critical. It is necessary to explore solutions to improve the competitiveness of China's cultural and creative industries, factoring the surrounding cities of the "Belt and Road" as an example. Thus, this paper proposes the six-element diamond model based on innovation capability and government support to render a comprehensive evaluation of the competitiveness of the cultural and creative industries in the 31 provinces and cities across the country. The results show that the overall competitiveness of the 18 provinces and cities along the "Belt and Road" cultural and creative industries is weak. Focusing on the 18 provinces and cities along the "Belt and Road", using the linear regression measurement model quantitative analysis, the four types of influencing factors affecting the development of the competitiveness of cultural and creative industries along the "Belt and Road" were obtained. Finally, according to the four types of influence, the competitiveness improvement plan is proposed from the four aspects: government role, consumption preference, industrial innovation ability, and the introduction of high-quality talent.

제3세계 음식전문점의 문화마케팅 활동이 방문동기와 재방문의도에 미치는 영향 - 베나레스를 중심으로 - (Culture Marketing Activities of the Third World Food Restaurant on Visit Motivation and Revisit Intention : The Case of "Benares")

  • This paper aims to examine the effect that cultural marketing influences on visit motivation and customer responses. We found that cultural marketing promotion activities by Benares, Indian restaurant had a positive effect on motivation to visit the store. Also research showed that the cultural direction and positioning marketing activities of Benares' cultural marketing had a statistically significant positive effect on all items of customer responses, that is service, atmosphere, brand but cultural promotion and cultural support marketing activities had a positive effect only on brand, except service, atmosphere. In addition, research showed that while all items of customer responses had a positive effect on revisit intention. In other words, it was proven that cultural marketing promotion activities by the Third World restaurant influence on visit motivation and customer responses and it provides practical implications to business marketers that foodservice companies' marketing associated with cultural marketing activities can be efficient marketing strategies that influence on revisit intention.

Psychological Support of Korean International Students in US Higher Education

  • Psychological support is crucial in navigating one's academic and professional lives, especially for students living abroad and pursuing higher education. This study aims to explore the narratives of social support seeking in a group of Korean international graduate students in an urban university setting in the United States. Qualitative research method of narrative approach was used to examine how three Korean graduate students exchanged psychological support. Analysis of interviews, observations, and documents found that four types of social support (informational, instrumental, appraisal, and emotional) were being exchanged and that emotional support was accessible predominantly in individual meetings than in group gatherings. Additionally, the reasons for abstaining from initiating group gatherings are discussed in relation to the Korean culture where participants were mindful of not infringing on each other's time. These findings inform theory on socio psychological support seeking and its relation to cultural values and offer practical insights into psychological support in international students in higher education settings.

도시내 첨단 산업단지 이용자 특성을 고려한 지원시설 분석 연구 (An Analysis on Support Facilities Which Consider User's Characteristics in High-tech Industrial Estate in Urban Area)

  • 최근 지식산업센터는 지식산업, 정보통신 관련 첨단업체들이 주로 입주하여 경제적 부가가치를 창출하는 시설로써의 역할을 담당하고 있다. 반면, 지식산업센터 내부에 설치되는 지원시설은 입주기업 지원, 그리고 근로자의 근로환경개선을 위하여 역할을 충실해야 하고, 다양한 활동을 영위할 수 있는 공간을 지원한다. 하지만 정부의 정책 지원이 해당 기업에 한하여 실행되고 있으며, 첨단지식산업센터 내 지원시설에는 어떠한 정책적 지원도 이루어지지 않고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 근로자 근로환경 지원을 위한 시설인 지식산업센터 지원시설을 대상으로 다각적 분석을 실시하였으며, 근로자 지원시설의 분석결과, 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지식산업센터 지원시설에 대한 적정면적 확보규정 도입이 필요하다. 둘째, 지원시설 중, 설치율이 저조한 시설에 대하여 주변시설과의 공유 방안이 필요하다. 셋째, IPA 분석결과, 상업시설 지원면적이 높은 것으로 나타났으나 문화지원시설에 대한 선호도 및 중요도가 높은 것으로 제시되어, 근로자의 근본적 욕구 및 기대에 부응할 수 있는 이용자 특성을 고려한 지원시설 구성방안이 요구되어진다. 마지막으로 근로환경에 영향을 미치는 시설은 사업초기부터 지구단위계획수법을 통한 계획적 도시관리가 적용된다면 근로자의 생산활동 지원에 많은 기여를 할 것으로 분석된다.
