Tolerance education must be based on the fact that tolerance like democracy cannot be achieved once and for all. Students must learn to constantly watch political and cultural processes for negative developments. Tolerance for others' values and behaviour can be learnt by studying previous historiographical views. The basic attitude to be learnt is repect for other cultures - within one's own culture as well as foreign cultures.

Contradictions often occur between the process of urban modernization and protection of history and culture, which have become the topics of current studies. The development of a city has its past, present and future while history and culture have their continued process. Culture is the sediment of history, left among buildings and merged in life. Exerting a subtle influence on the construction of a city and behaviors of citizens, culture is very important to the urban construction and is also the soul of a city and its buildings. Culture is closely bound up with inhabitants' life and the key to protect well the cultural features is to protect well historical and cultural venues. Qushuiyuan Garden is a venue for local folklore activities. The programming holds that folklore, historical and humane sceneries should be protected and left to our coming generations.

Using recently emerging quantitative methods, this article provides a comparative study of the diachronic changes in the narrations of novel, history, and science from the early 18th-century to the 20th-century. To trace the narrative changes in different genres, this article discusses how text-mining methodology can be introduced in literary studies. We compared the traces of narrative in three genres—novel, history, and science—as a pilot study, with the three major grammatical elements of narrative: pronoun, subordinating conjunction, and action verbs in past tense. The results of data-mining show that the use of pronoun and action verb has increased in the genre of novel toward the $20^{th}$ century, while history and science has developed less story-like writing styles.

역사문화지도는 한 지역의 개별적인 유적에 대한 단순한 집성이 아니라, 다양한 구성요소들의 시.공간적 연관성에 대한 종합적인 반영이 이루어져야만 한다. 문명의 발상지라고 할 수 있는 수계권의 역사와 문화, 그리고 생활환경의 연구는 지금까지의 지역단위 차원을 넘어서 타 문화권의 비교, 나아가 국가 및 대륙간의 문명사 연구에도 일익을 담당할 수 있을 것이다. 이러한 맥락에서 본 연구는 우리 고유의 역사와 문화를 토대로 문화적 유형화 및 지역적 정체성 파악을 위한 공용의 문화정보시스템 구축에 중점을 두었다. 즉, 영산강유역권 역사문화정보시스템은 수계권의 다양한 역사문화정보를 전자지도의 형태로 담아내고, 인터넷을 통해 공유하는 Web GIS 기반의 통합정보시스템인 것이다. 상기의 시스템은 고고, 건축 미술, 생태환경, 역사, 민속 문학, 음식 등 각 분야별 기초조사 자료에 의한 종합적인 산출물이며, 학제간 연구에서의 활용뿐만 아니라 공공의 자료로써 새로운 가치창출에 그 목적을 두고 있다. 결과적으로 Web GIS 기반의 영산강유역권 역사문화정보시스템 구축에 따른 기대효과는 첫째, 영산강유역 분야의 연구에 대한 로드맵을 확인하는데 공헌할 수 있으며, 둘째, 영산강유역의 역동적 구조와 특성에 대한 학제적 탐구를 촉진하는 역할을 한다는 것이다. 그리고 셋째, 역사문화지도 연구를 위한 전문화 된 전자 학술자원 제공의 본격적 발판을 마련하는 효과를 기대할 수 있다.

2008년 2월 10일 방화로 소실된 숭례문 문루의 복구 작업이 2013년 4월에 완료되었다. 숭례문하면 화재가 먼저 생각날 정도지만 이와 관련해서 다시 한 번 고찰해야 할 것이 남지(南池)이다. 현재 남지는 그 터였음을 알리는 표지석만 남아 있지만 소방문화사적으로 소중한 의미를 갖고 있다. 본 연구를 통해 남지가 갖고 있는 소방문화사적 가치와 의미를 재조명하고 현대적으로 계승해야 함을 강조하고자 한다.

우리나라는 전 국토가 문화 관광자원으로서 오랜 역사적 유물과 문화유산을 가지고 있다고 한다. 최근에는 다양한 관광자원의 조사와 많은 역사적 문화재를 찾아서 일반 시민들에게 알려 주어 그 가치와 의미를 부여하고 이를 보존하기 위한 많은 노력을 기울이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 국가지정문화재에 대한 일반인의 접근과 내용을 보다 편리하게 알려주기 위해서 다양한 공간자료와 멀티미디어의 콘텐츠를 결합하여 문화재를 사이버공간에서 안내하고 찾아갈 수 있는 경로탐색 및 방문시스템을 개발한 것으로서 일반인들이 손쉽게 인터넷과 공공장소에서 이용할 수 있는 콘텐츠를 제작하였다.

This study is a case study of system improvement measures for urban regeneration of the historical and cultural environment. The example areas are Hwangnam and Inwang Hanok districts in Gyeongju City, which operate various systems to solve the urban decline problem caused by the historical and cultural environment regulations. The subjects of this study are resident support programs and district unit planning systems under the advanced promotion system established in the case area. As research methods, literature studies, field surveys, and in-depth interviews were conducted. Through this, the background and purpose of introduction of each system, major plan contents, and problems of the system application process were analyzed. This study drew the following implications through case studies. First, in order to more effectively promote the urban regeneration of the historical and cultural environment, it is necessary to improve the related systems in an integrated and systematic manner. Second, in order to resolve the policy distrust of local residents in the historical, cultural and environmental management system, a wider variety of planned alternatives to narrow the difference in interests between the public and private sectors should be presented.

Chinese traditional patterns, which are part of our national precious heritage, have a long history. Tiger culture plays a very important role in folk art. In modern society, it is a symbol of human spirit and morality. The tiger pattern is also a unique traditional pattern in Chinese folklore. From the Spring and Autumn period to modern society, the tiger pattern has evolved in form through thousands of years of development. It is also a representative intangible cultural heritage in contemporary times. It plays a special role in the cultural exchange of different regions, resulting in the generation of the creation of folk art with great local characteristics. Therefore, traditional tiger patterns are an important part of traditional Chinese folk culture and art. In this study, by analyzing the development and evolution history of Chinese traditional tiger patterns, the application methods of Chinese traditional tiger patterns were summarized, the rich cultural connotation, artistic characteristics and application of traditional tiger pattern in modern fashion design were discussed. In contemporary design, the new and improved tiger pattern styles were explored, intangible cultural heritage was interpreted and inherited, and the cultural and artistic values contained therein were extracted. The author combined with modern fashion design, according to people's aesthetic taste and design principles, it is recreated,so that the traditional pattern has certain characteristics of The Times.But at the same time it retains its original character,and the traditional tiger pattern was inherited and the cultural connotation of clothing design was enriched.

In this paper we collect the mathematical problems from the past which can be used in classroom instruction. These problems can show the cultural value and the utility of mathematics, and encourage learning and illuminate the concept being taught.
