This study considered the transition of changes in social status of the film through the discourse analysis of printed media, having been published since 6th revised film policy in 1987. For the purpose, Pierre Bourdieu's cultural sociology, or 'Field theory approach' was engaged as a theoretical background. On the basis of that theory, changes in social status was divided into expert and popular field. From 1988 to 2007, doctor's and master's theses on filmologie and the representative academic journal, "Film Studies" were examined with regard to area of expertise, and movie-related books with regard to popular one. This study demonstrated that the symbolic capital had inhered in the cinematic field along with specialization and diversification of analytic aspects, and the relation between the academic approach and political consideration had performed an important role in intellectualization of film.
Into the 1990s, there have been changes in perception of pop culture consumers by making a distinction between groups that are active, critical and creative. This study aims to establish a theoretical reasoning for conventions organized and participated voluntarily by fans, which has been especially noticeable in the American subculture for a long time, while investigating how fans and all the parties concerned interact at conventions then to expand the imaginary world. To this end, an analysis has been carried out on the conventions for the particular American TV series of Supernatural. The results show that the reason for this drama series maintaining such enduring vitality as if a living thing is attributable to the special bond of sympathy developed between fans and actors and the following interactions between them. Furthermore, in the aspect of cultural sociology, a piece of work can only be completed through unconstrained interpretation of the work and the resultant recreation by the creator and the receiver, which has been ascertained by this study.
The term sustainable development is being used widely since WCED suggested it in 1987. This paper aims at catching up its sociological implications. For doing this, the paper examined some major existing researches on sustainable development. It was found that sustainable development has been defined as an economic development with the preservation of nature as an environment of human life. In this sense, the existing concept of sustainable development is an economic perspective. Sustainable development as an economic perspective is faced with some limitations and/or problems. They are summarized as follows. The human-made environment is excluded from the concept of sustainable development. Its ideology is anthroponcentric in that the sustainability of nature is a necessary condition for economic development. The objective reference which can measure whether the current state of nature is sustainable or not is not proposed. Consequently, sustainable development results in merely a survivability of economy, a new form of economic utility and/or a successful economy. In terms of sociological perspective, economy and nature can not be sustainable without other social factors being sustainable, because all social factors including economy and nature exist in a causal mechanism. This means that sustainable development should be approached from a multi-dimensional perspective. The multi-dimensional approach can be a framework of sustainable development in terms of whole society, then can be termed sustainable society which implies not a sustainable development, but a societal development. The factors which should be included in the sustainable society are, at least, nature, economy, population as an aggregate, mode of living existence of people as a cultural actor, technology, and social structure.
The purposes of this study are followings. First, I will compare the effects of wive's characteristics with the effects of the husbands' characteristics on the contraceptive use. Second, I will analyzed whether the determinants of the contraceptive use have changed according to parties. Third, I will analyzed whether the determinants of the contraceptive use at each parity have changed according to periods-especially, after and before economic crisis. According to expectation, the ratios using the contraception are affected by the wive's and husband's demographic characteristics, the determinants affecting the contraceptive use have changed by both parity and periods. The other findings are follows. First, women's employment status have positive effects on the contraceptive use, regardless parties and periods. Second, the ideology emphasizing the relationship between parents and children, rather than the ideology emphasizing the relationship between husband and wife, is more like to affect the contraceptive use.
The purpose of this article is to represent the types of advertising in the modern Russian language as 'Play of Words' (игра слов). The causal reason for this phenomenon is studied from the result of certain characteristics of advertising. The definition and characteristics of the language of the advertisement are analyzed in achieving the goal, as these factors reveal how language is used to maximize the effectiveness of the advertising. Academic research is needed in the collaborative fields of linguistics, psychology, economics, sociology, marketing, literature, art, and music. Modern advertisement is mixed with semiotic objects that consist of display, sound, and texts. While this study is not complete, the acknowledgement of the phenomenon 'Play of Words' between the creators of advertising and the consumer is undeniable. On one hand, advertising is recognized by linguists as the main factor that destroys the literary language. It represents the distortion of a standard language norm, as opposed to formal linguistic means used in advertising. In this research, we pay attention to the frequent use of foreign language borrowings and incorrect representation of foreign words, slang and jargon, that occur in misspelled usage of literary norms. The features that are revealed in this article are helpful to understand the purpose of advertising.
The purpose of this study is to identify the Korean government's policies and responses to migrants with HIV/AIDS and their legal grounds, and to examine the effectiveness of the HIV/AIDS laws and regulations in preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS. For the purpose, this study have conducted an extensive literature review and in-depth interviews with relevant government officials, experts and NGO leaders in East Asian countries including Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China and Mongolia. The results show that Korea maintains the strictest policies and implements strong rules and regulations against migrants with HIV, keeping them from entering and staying in the country by any means. Regarding the results, this study discusses issues and problems raised by the Korean government's HIV/AIDS policy for migrants in terms of public health and human rights.

This study is planned to discover the behavior of Korean peasants cope with the changes of structure last 30 years. So, I have surveyed the activists of Jindo Peasants Association through questionnaire. The outcome of survey are as follows; First, Peasants movement have been become weakened and the hope of future have disappeared. Although they have resisted the pressure of structural changes zealously, their life conditions have worsened. So, Peasants movement have been become weakened and they have no alternative choice. Second, The economic situations of all activist those who surveyed have worsened and there is no exits. If looking only at the surface of things, the socio-economic situations of Jindo peasants activists show a tendency to polarization. But, to tell the truth, overall immiseration have occurred at Jindo area. Third, confusion of their sense of values and weakening of self-esteem have occurred among the Jindo peasants activists. It is because that farming which is evaluated high in respect to cultural and industrial perspective, have been eliminated and disregarded. Especially, worsening of earnings and expenses make the peasants to be in the worse situations.
This thesis aims to reveal the meanings of SF as a genre in Korea. Most of the studies on the characteristics of SF novels in Korea have revealed the meanings of characteristic elements of SF, or peripherally reviewed the characteristics of works. However, these methodologies have a limitation, such as analysis through the existing methodologies, while overlooking the identity of SF texts with the characteristics as a genre. To clearly define the value of texts in the SF genre, an understanding of the customs and codes of the genre is first needed. Thus, this thesis aims to generally handle matters like the historical context in which Korean SF was accepted by Korean society, and the meanings and characteristics when they were created and built up relationships with readers. In addition to fully investigating SF as a popular narrative & genre narrative that has not been fully handled by academic discourses, this thesis aims to practically reconsider the present/future possibilities of SF, which is currently being reconsidered given that the scientific imagination is regarded as important in the 21st century. This thesis considers the basic signification of Korean SF texts in academic discourses. Through this work, numerous Korean SF that have not been fully handled in the area of literature and cultural phenomena will be evaluated for their significance within the academic discourses, and also reviewed through diverse research afterwards. As a result, this work will be helpful for the development of discourse and the expansion of the Korean narrative area that has been diversely changed since the 21st century.
The purpose of this article is to delve into the problems of originality of the artwork by examining issues of reproduction within the contemporary art market. In contemporary arts, especially in terms of art production and consumption, we can't overlook society and its economic structure and its connection with of capitalism. As the purity of art creation has turned into an exchange value, art, especially an object as artwork, has fallen into the status of production in an economic marketing system. Walter Benjamin mainly referred to that point in his thesis Das Kunstwerk im Zeitalter seiner technischen Reproduzierbarkeit, which originated the sociology of plastic arts. This thesis, published in 1936, traced how the artistic functions of photograph and movie had been changed through the social development. His main concerns were movie and photograph but what I am concentrating from his point of view, is that even in the field of plastic arts, the manufacture of reproduction has been practiced as a primary method within the social and political contexts and development. Though I am referring to this in the main body of this article, reproduction in contemporary art strongly needs a new definition since it has been spread all over like a newest virus, not only by collector's personal taste or hut also by commercial circulations of these reproductions to the public. This relates to Benjamin's argument about the value of an exhibition at a museum(Ausstellungswert). Since the function of an artwork has been one of cultural industry, the manufacturing of reproduction raises unexpected problems, such as, the originality of the artwork, the value of an exhibition at a museum, its achievement as documentary and as a territory of art criticism. In this point of view, I want to inquire into the value and criteria of an exhibition in contemporary art through the review of the definitions and the intrinsic attributes of reproduction. Somehow in a broad sense, the reproduction is a product coming out of representation or copy (replica) of an original art work or an model. Therefore, the problems it presents differ from the Simulacre, which is an image without an original one. In terms of the Meanings of reproduction, we can distinguish it as reproductions, copies, and productions. These types of reproductions are not the original artworks reflected by the creative intention of the artists. For example, a publishing company reproduced some of lithographs of Salvador Dali in the 1960s. They are commercial copies in the form of representation or reproduction with no artistic and creative intention of the artist. However, In despite of this theoretical basis, reproductions of the famous artists are still displayed without any verification for of the public's quest for the artworks. Moreover, many commercial companies that are planning to exhibit art works of the world-famous artists only for their profits keep trying to speak ill of and judging by the law the honest art critics' articles which discuss the true values of exhibition. If freedom of expression is one of the ideals of democracy, even the judgment of the originality of the artworks should be freely expressed.

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the educational implications of global citizenship and regional identity in geographic education of multicultural society. Geographical education inquires into places and region on local, regional, national and global scales. Geography studies geographical representation of ethnical, cultural, political diversities of human societies. Therefore geography is a very proper subject for multicultural education. Geography has also inherent legitimacy on multicultural education in the viewpoints that space or region has valued inherent nature which is constructed by human experience, perception and response etc. Citizenship in multicultural education requests some abilities and attitudes of world citizens superior to state or nation oriented citizenship. However the education of world citizenship doesn't mean abandonment of regional identity in geographical education. Citizenship is based on geographical units which have their territories. Regional identity is the feeling of belonging as a member of a certain region, and is formed not only by race, ethnic, gender, political and social position but also by thought of nature, landscape, national identity, regional dialect, and historical context, etc. The regional identity in multicultural society means the homogeneity which includes the heterogeneity of diverse groups, and has a key which solves the conflicts of diverse groups in the region. Consequently multicultural education in geography would focus on the cultivation of regional identities which are founded on critical thinking to solve the conflicts of multicultural society. The geographic education in multicultural society would rather emphasize on region than on race or nation, and can integrate the global vision of world citizenship with the diverse viewpoint of multicultural education.
