China, the nation which reigns the society consisted of several ethnic groups, has been interested in universal virtues since its early eras, due to the social demand for their integration. Confucianism, therefore, traditionally has been executing this function as a transcendant world, and at present the Marxism takes its role instead. After its reformation and opening, the market economy was allowed to set in China, which means that the traditional ideology of integration comes to face the crisis occurred by new trend of the individualism which is gradually spreading. The people who make the policies and the intellectual people in China who noticed these phenomena, are trying to make measures to cope with this contradiction. Despite of their trials, they are destined to find nothing but powerlessness in front of the powerful marketing strategy of the commercialism which adroitly adapted to their measures. In this situation, the transcendant world to reach, which these people are appealing again is the totalitarian ideology that persistently has been maintained through history of China. The movie, Hero, is the one of these attempts. This paper offers you the analysis of this cultural agony of contemporary China.

As a solemn and serious uniform, military uniform can be differentiated easily from any other clothing in the aspects of color, material and style. Inspired by military uniform, fashion designers have been applying military uniform elements into modern fashion design in recent years, which helps to bring military uniform from the trench onto international fashion runway. The primary method of this research is theory analysis method and exampling study method. Based on the collected materials of modern military uniform, this paper takes the fashion and cultural study theory of the famous American scholar Susan B. Kaiser as the leading theory to analyze four subject positions embodied in military uniform, including nation, rank, gender and time and space. By analyzing the subject positions embodied in military uniform, it shows the rich cultural connotation of military uniform and the function of various small details. Meanwhile, by giving specific examples, this paper explores the influences of military uniform on modern fashion design in respect to color, style, material, pattern and accessory. Through the conduct of this research, it comes to the conclusion that military uniform also has the characteristics and properties described in the fashion and cultural theory of Susan B. Kaiser, in addition, designers can be inspired by every specific object around them, which shows the talents of designers.

The dress culture of Korea and Turkey should be necessary to study in view of a similar culture of Korea and Turkey due to similarity of oriental culture. Thus, as two nation's dress is investigated, cultural characteristics and dress form of two nations are analyzed with cultural background in detail. Also, comprehension is determinated for the dress color and texture as well as dress culture. In this paper, It is investigated theoretically for the function, type, and class of dress. Also, The form of Korean Po are compared to background of Turkish dress and Sulltans' dress form. To unify a cultural propagation and dress form, technical, inductive contents analytical method as well as literature review are used in positivism. Subject is limited to the Korean Po and Sultans' dress of Turkey. As a results, as the nation's dress reflect to culture and society of the nation, Korean dress have some similarity and differences comparing Turkish dress as followings. In dress form of two nation, rectangular Gil's shape was very similar. Mu's shape was similar too. However, Sultans' dress had outside shape of caftan type and Po had full or partial wrinkles by transforming Mu. Also, Sultans' dress did not have Sup. Korean Po have side slits or back side slits and Jun-Sam but Sultans' dress had only some side slits.

As society alters and building ages, many industrial facilities lost their function and abandoned in central city areas, and sometimes creating many problems. However, many European countries successfully transformed those urban decay to vivid cultural hub. The purpose of this study was to analyze a concept and methods of converting idle industrial facilities to successful cultural spaces. A case study of Tate Modern, Baltic Center for Contemporary Art, and Ruhr Museum was conducted using literature review, site visit, and interview methods. Findings indicated that converting historically significant idle industrial facilities to cultural center had not only reused abandoned site but also helped regenerating adjacent urban areas. This article demonstrates the key factors of successful conversion strategies as convenience, participation, placeness, historicity, and accessibly; and thus an effort to actively enhance the strategic factors were demanded in future conversion projects. A continuous studies on exploring extensive cases in various perspectives are required for further generalization in future studies.

The purposes of this study is to identify a proper spot to create a symbolic place for the International Jazz Festival and to improve the connections among the place assets of Gapyeong as a place marketing strategies. To this end, the analysis and interpretation of spatial structure was conducted using space syntax. The results of the study showed that the entire structure of the space formed in the axis of a total of 200. The value of total integration was 0.833, which is relatively low, and the local integration degree was 1.588 degrees. Gahwa Street has the highest value of full integration (1.264) among the major points related with the Festival, followed by the former Gapeyong Station area (1.189). As a result, the former Gapeyong station area was identified as a recommendable place for symbolic place because it is highly accessible to the surrounding areas and spacious enough to function as a plaza. Developing a cultural street occupied by jazz cafes, concerts, shops and restaurants, and transforming the old railroad into a linear park will enhance the image of jazz city and help place marketing.

Purpose: Various landscapes have been created in the process of changing containers, which were a tool of trade activities, to architecture, and today, containers have formed relationships with people as complex facilities and constantly create new cultures. In this paper, considering these container constructions from the viewpoint of the landscape, consider the meaning as one of landscape factors for creating cultural landscape. Method: In this study, a methodological framework was constructed based on various statistical data and literature materials, and analyzed texts called containers from the viewpoints of physical elements and active elements and analyzed them at the level of function. Based on literature materials, specifically, this study has handled with the cultural landscape as text, the functional dimension of urban design, and the characteristics of container construction. Result: This research analyzed the physical and active characteristics of the target area by utilizing the content of the field analysis and the contents of the interview, previous research, etc., and then content was analyzed in functional dimension. Through this process, the conclusion proposed by this research is to study the construction of a container and present the direction to analyze in the functional dimension showing the landscape characteristics that it brings forward.

Under the social conditions that an understanding of a men change socially and men's interests in their appearances are on the increase, this research intends to study and analyze the changes of people's sensibility of values on ads for men's cosmetics, which is said to be performed the social, cultural function reflecting the social consciousness, the value and the idea creating a new one. The documents for the research was sindonga. The ad showed that they've changed making a difference according to the times. In 1970s, it expressed a man for cleanness and modernity living in urbanized and modernized society. On the other hand, it expressed a man who won success socially and enjoyed a comfortable life in a dignified manner, or a man who was fond of sports leisure activity pursuing a clam and composed life and was interested in the skin and an appearance in 1980s. From 1990 to 2002, it expressed a man of challengeable manly beauty having a strong will toward social achievement, or a man who has a sweet manly beauty with sex appeal to a woman. Besides, it expressed a man who is soft, faithful and affectionate with a liberal and peaceful atmosphere as well.

본 연구에서는 품질기능전개(QFD) 기법을 이용하여 상지대학교 각 단과대학 학생들을 대상으로 교양·전공과목 선택에 있어서 영향을 주는 요인을 분석하고자 설문조사를 실시하였으며 분석을 위해 사용한 응답지는 총 204개이었다. 본 연구를 위해 얻어진 자료는 Excel과 통계 Software 인 SPSS를 이용하여 처리하였다. 중요 요소들은 QFD의 기초매트릭스인 품질의 집(HOQ)을 적용하여 그 속성들을 구성하였다. 본 연구에서 나타난 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 설문조사를 통하여 얻어진 자료를 토대로 학생들이 수강과목을 선택하는데 있어서 영향을 주는 항목으로는 교수인지도에는 수업방식이 보고서 제출 및 출석, 학점 등의 요인보다 중요한 요인으로 나타났으며 전공과목 선택시의 관심도에서는 선배의 권유가 다른 요인보다 많은 영향을 주고 있는 것으로 분석되었다.

As the importance of economic value of culture has increased, governments have set a strategy to secure national competitiveness through cultural art. One of concrete ways is establishing a cultural space by using idle facilities. This study aims to analyze publicness of Seoul Art Space, suggest ways to improve the facilities of creative space and provide basic date for the further plan of creative space. The object of this study is 8 facilities from Seoul Art Space which is operated by City of Seoul. Through literature review, we extracted 5 elements(each element has 4 sub categories) for publicness(accessibility, openness, convenience, historical connectivity and stay time) and to evaluates publicness of the Seoul Art Space, we analyzed these facilities based on these elements. The results are as follows: The publicness of Seoul Art Space acquired 96.9%(100% is 64 points) for stay time, 95.3% for convenience, 90.6% for accessibility, 73.4% for openness and 62.5% for historical connectivity. For the openness, we suggest to use glass materials and open the space to the public. To improve historical connectivity, we suggest to determine appropriate theme for a particular space or area and set a function of buildings for the differentiation.

The art museum plays a role as a cultural space that can solve the cultural desire of people and see a good art works. It is in exhibition space that they personally exchange the feeling between an art work and a viewer in art museum. The types and works - a fiber, a photo, an establishment that needs many places, devices, a video art, and an action art called "performance", cultural art - are shown in small art museum. Moreover, exhibition spaces are modified into the space of another art activities like dancing, music concerts in small art museum because it has no profit space for diverse art activities. And the exhibition the characters of the exhibition space in small art museum. So, it needs to change the characters of the exhibition space in small art museum. Under these background, this stud\ulcorner surveys and analyzes the exhibits, the organization methods, the modified conditions, and the scale of the existing exhibitional space in small art museum. Therefore, the goal of this study is to suggest the composition of the exhibition space unit considering the function and the multifunction in minimum art museum and small art museum.
