Vegetation indices were analyzed from the LANDSAT images of Yeoju, Kwangju and Yangpyong Gun of Kyunggi Province, obtained on September 22, 1983 and September 12, 1994, to evaluate the changes in landuses. It was found that there were notable changes in the landuses in the observed area over 11 years. Particularly, in Choweol Myun of Kwanju Gun, in Yangpyong Eup of Yangpyong Gun, and in Heungcheon Myun of Yeoju Gun, decrease in the area under vegetatin was most remarkable. These changes in the area under vegetatin are considered as the results of the construction of highways and the expansion of urban areas. The LANDSAT images overestimated the area under rice cultivation, when compared to the official statistic year book. However, it was found that the areas of the land under rice cultivation estimated by LANDSAT images for each Myun were close enough to those from the official statistics suggesting that the LANDSAT images can be used for the estimation of landuse status.
Recently, the cultivated area is reduced, the ratio of upland-field in the total cultivated area is increasing relative appeared in 36.2% in 1990 from 43.7% in 2013. If upland-field can be applied well designed-infrastructure, good income crop production is possible, however, maintenance of infrastructure and a significant portion of the upland-field is maintained under insufficient infrastructure. While imports of agricultural products expanded since the 2000s in progress, looking at the self-sufficiency of upland-field crops, it is reduced to from 90% to 42% for the pepper, it is from 90% to 74% for the garlic, cereals is reduced from 42% by 26%. As a result of these conditions, the competitiveness of farmers has weakened, the risk to meet the challenges of this area of production and supply reduction increased. This study was the first to conduct a basic evaluation index, data analysis and evaluation of indicators to diagnose the agricultural production capacity of the upland field. 12 kinds classified index of producing conditions from the natural environment and eight factors for the cultivation and production capabilities have developed for the assessment of productivity of upland-field (especially Kimchi cabbage). Through this regional imbalance was found, based on the production capabilities conditions are good in Haenam, Gangneung, Pyeongchang. 3 Regions have been low and the lowest Youngwol to 0.8992. Climate(Cultivation conditions) indicators of Mungyeong region is the highest, relatively low areas were in Taebaek. In particular, it is determined to be preferred that the area required for the enhancing the production environment based on providing the convenience for the producing and maintenance of the first production area. It is necessary Increasing part of mechanization, agro-industrial competitiveness through aggressive management plans for facilities as required in the process of post-harvest storage, processing, distribution line can be improved.

In recent, the cultivation of maize in the world is being increased as a feed for the animal due to the increase of the large amount of meat consumption. However, reduction of supply for the feeding maize by the natural disaster such as drought, flooding, and demanding materials for bioenergy are attributed to increase the cereal price of the world that caused for the fluctuation of prices. The research has been done to provide useful information to the Korean agricultural investor regarding the current status of maize production and distribution in Cambodia. The maize cultivation of Cambodia in 2009 presented as a second major crop at the area of 6.8% in the total crop production area, and it continuously increased maize production yearly basis for the internal uses as well as for the exportation. The total amount of production showed by amount of 0.92 million tons due to the increased production of unit area. The yield production of unit area in current shows about 4 tones per hectare. About 90% of total production produced during August to September at wet season, and area of Batambang province produced about 70% of the total production. The production of feeding maize cultivated about 70% of the total cultivation area, and the exportation have done around 60% and remains were consumed as a domestic uses. The prospects of maize production in Cambodia will be increased due to the acceleration of livestock industry as 8.7% of annual growth rate.
This article focuses on changes in the ginseng industry in the 1930s in areas other than the Government Contract Cultivation (GCC) zones. A major characteristic of the ginseng industry in the 1930s was the rapid increase in the area covered by ginseng gardens: the area was about 212 ha in 1929 and 252 ha in 1930 and 1931 but soared to around 441 ha in 1938. This occurred because the non-GCC areas increased significantly during this period. Until the early 1930s, the ratio of GCC to non-GCC areas was 70:30. By the late 1930s, however, the ratio had changed to 53:47. The reason for this change was that the area of the newly established ginseng gardens in the GCC zones had decreased, while that of the non-GCC ginseng gardens had steadily increased. Due to the Japanese invasion of China, China boycotted red ginseng, and exports were sluggish, so the GCC areas were reduced. On the other hand, the non-GCC ginseng gardens were not affected, and the area they covered steadily increased. As a result, in the 1930s, the ginseng industry outside of the GCC areas grew rapidly. The region that led the growth of the ginseng industry outside of the GCC zone was Jeonbuk. By the late 1930s, Jeonbuk dominated the other provinces and accounted for more than 50% of the non-GCC farming zone. Gyeongbuk and Gangwon-do followed Jeonbuk in terms of ginseng cultivation areas. While Gyeonggi-do, Gyeongnam, and Chungbuk were also active in ginseng cultivation, Jeonnam and Chungnam were not active. In the 1930s, the growth of the ginseng industry outside of the GCC zones was driven by the efforts of ginseng farmers and the support of local governments. An examination of Yecheon-gun in Gyeongbuk, Ganghwa-gun in Gyeonggi, and Jecheon-gun in Chungcheongbuk-do showed that ginseng farmers organized cooperatives as the ginseng industry steadily developed in these regions, and these cooperatives worked systematically to cultivate and sell ginseng. In the case of Ganghwa-gun, activities were carried out to incorporate the GCC zone. The Deoksan Ginseng Association in Jecheon-gun determined that financing for cultivation was key and requested subsidies from the provincial government. Administrative authorities also supported the activities of the ginseng farmers. The activities of the farmers and the support of the administrative authorities together led to the growth of the ginseng industry during this period.
This study was conducted over a 3-year period from 2013 to 2015 in the mid-northern inland, Cheolweon, Korea, to investigate changes in flowering date, daily mean temperature during grain filling, and yield characteristics affected by transplanting date in an early-maturing rice variety, 'Joun'. Thirty-day-old seedlings were transplanted at four different dates at 15-day interval from May 5 to June 19. Flowering dates were July 16, July 21, July 31, and August 14 when transplanting was performed on May 5, May 20, June 4, and June 19, respectively. Late transplanting resulted in higher daily mean temperature before flowering but late-transplanted rice required fewer days and lower cumulative temperature to reach flowering from transplanting. As transplanting was delayed, daily mean temperature for 40 days after flowering decreased, whereas daily sunshine hours for the same period increased, with a temperature of $24.8^{\circ}C$ and sunshine for 5.8 hours being recorded at the transplanting on May 5, and with a temperature of $21.0^{\circ}C$ and sunshine for 7.7 hours at the transplanting on June 19. With late transplanting, panicles per square meter significantly decreased, whereas spikelets per panicle showed an increasing trend. Regression analysis showed that maximum head rice yield was attained from the transplanting on May 18, for which the flowering date was July 21, and daily mean temperature for 40 days from that flowering date was $24.6^{\circ}C$. A decrease in head rice yield by 5% and 10% of the maximum was observed for rice transplanted on June 6 and June 15, which resulted in flowering dates of August 2 and August 11, respectively, and the daily mean temperatures for 40 days from flowering were 23.2 and $21.7^{\circ}C$, respectively. Therefore, in mid-northern inland, it is recommended to transplant 'Joun' on May 18 to induce flowering on July 21, when grain filling is subjected to a daily mean temperature of $24.6^{\circ}C$ during active filling stage.

In this study, I aimed to suggest political data on the plantation of chestnut trees given the local features by conducting an analysis on the economic efficiency of the plantation of chestnut trees aimed at chestnut tree plantation farmhouses (total 67 farmhouses) in Chungbuk, Chungnam, Jeonbuk, Jeonnam and Gyeongnam, which are the chief producing place in Korea. As a result, the central area (Chungbuk, Chungnam) was proven to post 2.7 times as many as the average total income, 3.9 times as many as income, and 12.1 times as many as net income per ha when compared with those in the southern area (Jeonnam, Gyeongnam). That is, the southern area demonstrated a very low economic efficiency on the plantation of chestnut trees compared with that of the central area, and this was caused by the reduction of chestnut production and the degradation of chestnut quality due to the aging of chestnut trees. Therefore, it is imperative to consistently renovate aged chestnut orchards and manage them in the southern area.
In this study, we constructed a model of an area where the production and production amount of wild vegetables which are designated as short term income forest products for the whole country are self-sufficient for the representative Eastern Braken fern(Pteridium aquilinum)and Edible aster(Aster scaber). The difference between the existing cultivation site and the model result was examined, and the distribution of the cultivable area was simulated according to the near future climate change by the 2050s. The degree of agreement between the cultivated area and the actual native area was very low at 14.5% for Eastern Braken fern and 12.9% for Edible aster. Using the Maxent model, which has already been proven by many research examples, the cultivation maps through the model can guarantee statistical accuracy by considering many variables. To analyze future location changes, the RCP 4.5 scenario and the RCP 8.5 scenario were applie Edible aster d to predict potential future cultivable areas and compare them to the present. There was no decrease in the cultivable area due to climate change nationwide. However, in the RCP 8.5 scenario for Eastern Braken fern and the RCP 4.5 scenario for Edible aster, declining areas such as Gangwon-do, Jeollabuk-do and Gyeongsangbuk-do showed prominence according to the scenarios. The result of this study suggests that various models can be used for the production of short-term forest productivity maps and it will be used as a climate change impact assessment data for competitive forest products considering the influence of future climate change.
This study investigated the characteristics of and changes in hemp textile production practices at Gurye in Jeollanam-do in modern times. To do this, in this study, both a literature review and fieldwork research were utilized as research methods. The literature review focused on Gurye's hemp data, and the fieldwork research involved two separate trials. Male and Female residents of Gurye who had experience in the area of hemp production from the 1920s to the 1980s participated in this study. The results were as follows. First, regarding hemp fiber cultivation in Gurye, hemp cultivation continued to the 1970s and there were no changes in hemp cultivation practices during the Japanese colonial-era. Second, there have been very important changes in hemp kilns over time. In the 1950s, there were both single-body kilns and separate-body kilns in Gurye. Later, specifically in the 1950s, a new type of kiln using an iron pot appeared, and the most modern kilns were concrete structures. Third, in Gurye, women cooperatively removed hemp husks immediately after stemming, subsequently bleaching the hemp by soaking it in lye or caustic soda. Over time, there have been changes in ash types and in soaking periods. Fourth, loom types changed from the traditional Korean back-strap loom to the treadle loom in the 1930s- to 1940s. Fifth, since the 1970s, the hemp textile output levels of Gurye have been reduced due to the westernization of clothing styles, the inflow of Chinese hemp fiber and government regulations pertaining to hemp cultivation.

Growing plant in potting media without soil is known as Soilless cultivation. This method is used mostly in greenhouse cultivation to increase horticultural commodities production. Peat moss is commonly utilized as potting media substrate because of its characteristic. However, peat moss price is high because of the quantity of peat moss in nature has been decreased. Recently, most of the research is conducted to find the alternative growing medium to cultivate horticulture plant in potting media. Perlite and rice husk ash were mentioned that had a potent as alternative growing media for seasonal plants to increase agriculture production due to the lack of production area. This study aimed to determine the effect of using different substrate and growth performance of chili. The method used was the soilless cultivation. The chili was planted in the pot with perlite media, rice husk ash media, and peat moss media. The chili was measured after 65 days after planting. The result showed that rice husk ash and perlite were more potentials in chili growth performance than peat moss. Rice husk ash had the significant result of plant height. While, Perlite effect on root length, plant weight, leaf length, and stem diameter. The best alternative for cultivation chili without substrate based on this research was perlite then rice husk ash and peat moss.
