  • A white-box environment refers to a situation where the internal information of an algorithm is disclosed. The AES white-box encryption was first announced in 2002, and in 2016, a side-channel analysis for white-box encryption called Differential Computation Analysis (DCA) was proposed. DCA analysis is a powerful side-channel attack technique that uses the memory information of white-box encryption as side-channel information to find the key. Although various countermeasure studies against DCA have been published domestically and internationally, there were no evaluated or analyzed results from experiments applying the hiding technique using dummy operations to DCA analysis. Therefore, in this paper, we insert LU T-shaped dummy operations into the WBC-AES algorithm proposed by S. Chow in 2002 and quantitatively evaluate the degree of change in DCA analysis response depending on the size of the dummy. Compared to the DCA analysis proposed in 2016, which recovers a total of 16 bytes of the key, the countermeasure proposed in this paper was unable to recover up to 11 bytes of the key as the size of the dummy decreased, resulting in a maximum decrease in attack performance of about 68.8%, which is about 31.2% lower than the existing attack performance. The countermeasure proposed in this paper confirms that the attack performance significantly decreases as smaller dummy sizes are inserted and can be applied in various fields.

  • As practical use degree of multicasting increase, security for multicast is recognized as an important issue. Previous research in the area of secure multicast has mainly focused on group key management. The most important thing about the security of multicast is that only authorized members of this group will be able to access the data. The member of access to multicast communication is to use cryptography with a common shared session encryption key. We propose decentralized group key management based on agent for dynamic multicast with large groups and frequent joins or leaves in this paper. Whole group divide to several subgroup using agent technology and each agent manage members of each subgroup. Also, when rekeying updates that using one-way hash function can prevent the key exposure, and reduce the key distribution delay.

  • Block cipher ARIA was first proposed by some South Korean experts in 2003, and later, it was established as a Korean Standard block cipher algorithm by Korean Agency for Technology and Standards. In this paper, we focus on the security evaluation of ARIA block cipher against the recent zero-correlation linear cryptanalysis. In addition, Partial-sum technique and FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) technique are used to speed up the cryptanalysis, respectively. We first introduce some 4-round linear approximations of ARIA with zero-correlation, and then present some key-recovery attacks on 6/7-round ARIA-128/256 with the Partial-sum technique and FFT technique. The key-recovery attack with Partial-sum technique on 6-round ARIA-128 needs $2^{123.6}$ known plaintexts (KPs), $2^{121}$ encryptions and $2^{90.3}$ bytes memory, and the attack with FFT technique requires $2^{124.1}$ KPs, $2^{121.5}$ encryptions and $2^{90.3}$ bytes memory. Moreover, applying Partial-sum technique, we can attack 7-round ARIA-256 with $2^{124.6}$ KPs, $2^{203.5}$ encryptions and $2^{152}$ bytes memory and 7-round ARIA-256 employing FFT technique, requires $2^{124.7}$ KPs, $2^{209.5}$ encryptions and $2^{152}$ bytes memory. Our results are the first zero-correlation linear cryptanalysis results on ARIA.

  • Secure authentication technology is a fundamental building block for secure services for Internet of Things devices. Particularly, the multiplication operation is a core operation of public key cryptography, such as RSA, ECC, and SIDH. However, modern low-power processor, namely ARM Cortex-M3 processor, is not secure enough for practical usages, since it executes the multiplication operation in variable-time depending on the input length. When the execution is performed in variable-time, the attacker can extract the password from the measured timing. In order to resolve this issue, recent work presented constant-time solution for multiplication operation. However, the implementation still missed various speed-optimization techniques. In this paper, we analyze previous multiplication methods over ARM Cortex-M3 and provide optimized implementations to accelerate the speed-performance further. The proposed method successfully accelerates the execution-time by up-to 25.7% than previous works.

  • Recently, the development of cloud computing technology is developed as soon as smartphones is increases, and increased that users want to receive big data service. Hadoop framework of the big data service is provided to hadoop file system and hadoop mapreduce supported by data-intensive distributed applications. But, smpartphone service using hadoop system is a very vulnerable state to data authentication. In this paper, we propose a initial authentication protocol of hadoop system assisted by smartphone service. Proposed protocol is combine symmetric key cryptography techniques with ECC algorithm in order to support the secure multiple data processing systems. In particular, the proposed protocol to access the system by the user Hadoop when processing data, the initial authentication key and the symmetric key instead of the elliptic curve by using the public key-based security is improved.

  • As the innovative technologies related to ubiquitous computing are being rapidly developed in recent IT trend, the concern for IT dysfunction(e.g., personal information abuse, information risk, threat, vulnerability, etc.) are also increasing. In our study, we suggested how to design and implement to multiple schemes for strong authentication mechanism in real system environments. We introduce the systematic and secure authentication technologies that resolve the threats incurring from the abuse and illegal duplication of financial transaction card in the public and financial institutions. The multiple schemes for strong authentication mechanism applied to java technology, so various application programs can be embedded, Independent of different platforms, to the smartcard by applying the consolidated authentication technologies based on encryption and biometrics(e.g., finger print identification). We also introduce the appropriate guidelines which can be easily implemented by the system developer and utilized from the software engineering standpoint of view. Further, we proposed ways to utilize java card based biometrics by developing and applying the 'smartcard class library' in order for the developer and engineers involved in real system environment(Secure entrance system) to easily understand the program. Lastly, we briefly introduced the potential for its future business application.

  • In quantum cryptographic communication based on quantum mechanics, each piece of information is loaded onto individual photons and transmitted. Therefore, it is impossible to eavesdrop on only a part, and even if an intruder illegally intercepts a photon and retransmits it to the recipient, it is impossible to send the same information to the photon by the principle of quantum duplication impossible. With the explosive increase of various network-based services, the security of the service is required to be guaranteed, and the establishment of a quantum cryptographic communication network and related services are being promoted in various forms. However, apart from the development of Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) technology, a lot of research is needed on how to provide network-level services using this. In this paper, based on the quantum encryption device, we propose an integrated data structure for transferring quantum keys between various quantum encryption communication network devices and realizing an encrypted transmission environment.

  • The design of cluster-based routing protocols is necessary for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). But, due to the lack of features, the traditional methods face issues, especially on unbalanced energy consumption of routing protocol. This work focuses on enhancing the security and energy efficiency of the system by proposing Energy Efficient Based Secure Routing Protocol (EESRP) which integrates trust management, optimization algorithm and key management. Initially, the locations of the deployed nodes are calculated along with their trust values. Here, packet transfer is maintained securely by compiling a Digital Signature Algorithm (DSA) and Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) approach. Finally, trust, key, location and energy parameters are incorporated in Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and meta-heuristic based Harmony Search (HS) method to find the secure shortest path. Our results show that the energy consumption of the proposed approach is 1.06mJ during the transmission mode, and 8.69 mJ during the receive mode which is lower than the existing approaches. The average throughput and the average PDR for the attacks are also high with 72 and 62.5 respectively. The significance of the research is its ability to improve the performance metrics of existing work by combining the advantages of different approaches. After simulating the model, the results have been validated with conventional methods with respect to the number of live nodes, energy efficiency, network lifetime, packet loss rate, scalability, and energy consumption of routing protocol.
