As Internet grows rapidly and next electronic commerce applications increase, the security is getting more important. Information security to provide secure and reliable information transfer is based on cryptography technique. The proposed ISEED(Improved SEED) algorithm based on block cryptography algorithm which belongs to secret-key algorithm. In terms of efficiency, the round key generation algorithm has been proposed to reduces the time required in encryption and decryption. The algorithm has been implemented as follow. 128-bit key is divided into two 64-bit group to rotate each of them 8-bit on the left side and right side, and then basic arithmetic operation and G function have been applied to 4-word outputs. In the process of converting encryption key which is required in decryption and encryption of key generation algorithm into sub key type, the conversion algorithm is analyzed. As a result, the time consumed to encryption and decryption is reduced by minimizing the number of plain text required differential analysis.

We follow the promising recent results of deploying the public key cryptography in sensor networks. Recent results have shown that the public key algorithms are computationally feasible on the typical sensor nodes. However, once the public key cryptography is brought to the sensor network, security services such like key authentication will be critically required. In this paper we investigate the public key authentication problem in the sensor network and provide several authentication protocols. Our protocols are mainly based on the non-solvable overhearing in the wireless environment and a distributed voting mechanism. To show the value of our protocols, we provide an extensive analysis of the used resources and the resulting security level. As well, we compare our work with other existing works. For further benefit of our protocols, we list several additional applications in the sensor network where our protocols provide a sufficient authentication under the constrained resources.

With the rapid growth of the communication technology, intelligent terminals (i.e. PDAs and smartphones) are widely used in many mobile applications. To provide secure communication in mobile environment, in recent years, many user authentication schemes have been proposed. However, most of these authentication schemes suffer from various attacks and cannot provide provable security. In this paper, we propose a novel remote user mutual authentication scheme for multi-server environments using elliptic curve cryptography (ECC). Unlike other ECC-based schemes, the proposed scheme uses ECC in combination with a secure hash function to protect the secure communication among the users, the servers and the registration center (RC). Through this method, the proposed scheme requires less ECC-based operations than the related schemes, and makes it possible to significantly reduce the computational cost. Security and performance analyses demonstrate that the proposed scheme can solve various types of security problems and can meet the requirements of computational complexity for low-power mobile devices.
Multiplication in finite fields is used in many applications, especially in cryptography. It is a basic and the most computationally intensive operation from among all such operations. Several systolic multipliers are proposed in the literature that offer low hardware complexity or high speed. In this paper, a bit-parallel polynomial basis systolic multiplier for generic irreducible polynomials is proposed based on a modified interleaved multiplication method. The hardware complexity and delay of the proposed multiplier are estimated, and a comparison with the corresponding multipliers available in the literature is presented. Of the corresponding multipliers, the proposed multiplier achieves a reduction in the hardware complexity of up to 20% when compared to the best multiplier for m = 163. The synthesis results of application-specific integrated circuit and field-programmable gate array implementations of the proposed multiplier are also presented. From the synthesis results, it is inferred that the proposed multiplier achieves low power consumption and low area complexitywhen compared to the best of the corresponding multipliers.
In literature, several strong designated verifier signature (SDVS) schemes have been devised using elliptic curve bilinear pairing and map-topoint (MTP) hash function. The bilinear pairing requires a super-singular elliptic curve group having large number of elements and the relative computation cost of it is approximately two to three times higher than that of elliptic curve point multiplication, which indicates that bilinear pairing is an expensive operation. Moreover, the MTP function, which maps a user identity into an elliptic curve point, is more expensive than an elliptic curve scalar point multiplication. Hence, the SDVS schemes from bilinear pairing and MTP hash function are not efficient in real environments. Thus, a cost-efficient SDVS scheme using elliptic curve cryptography with pairingfree operation is proposed in this paper that instead of MTP hash function uses a general cryptographic hash function. The security analysis shows that our scheme is secure in the random oracle model with the hardness assumption of CDH problem. In addition, the formal security validation of the proposed scheme is done using AVISPA tool (Automated Validation of Internet Security Protocols and Applications) that demonstrated that our scheme is unforgeable against passive and active attacks. Our scheme also satisfies the different properties of an SDVS scheme including strongness, source hiding, non-transferability and unforgeability. The comparison of our scheme with others are given, which shows that it outperforms in terms of security, computation cost and bandwidth requirement.

As a unique form of signed-digit representation, non-adjacent form (NAF) minimizes Hamming weight by removing a stream of non-zero bits from the binary representation of positive integer. Thanks to this strong point, NAF has been used in various applications such as cryptography, packet filtering and so on. In this paper, to improve the NAF conversion speed of the $NAF_w$ algorithm, we propose a new NAF conversion algorithm, called w-bit Shifting Non-Adjacent Form($SNAF_w$), where w is width of scanning window. By skipping some unnecessary bit comparisons, the proposed algorithm improves the NAF conversion speed of the $NAF_w$ algorithm. To verify the excellence of the $SNAF_w$ algorithm, the $NAF_w$ algorithm and the $SNAF_w$ algorithm are implemented in the 8-bit microprocessor ATmega128. By measuring CPU cycle counter for the NAF conversion under various input patterns, we show that the $SNAF_2$ algorithm not only increases the NAF conversion speed by 24% on average but also reduces deviation in the NAF conversion time for each input pattern by 36%, compared to the $NAF_2$ algorithm. In addition, we show that $SNAF_w$ algorithm is always faster than $NAF_w$ algorithm, regardless of the size of w.

Finite field arithmetic has been extensively used in error correcting codes and cryptography. Low-complexity and high-speed designs for finite field arithmetic are needed to meet the demands of wider bandwidth, better security and higher portability for personal communication device. In particular, cryptosystems in GF($2^m$) usually require computing exponentiation, division, and multiplicative inverse, which are very costly operations. These operations can be performed by computing modular AB multiplications or modular $AB^2$ multiplications. To compute these time-consuming operations, using $AB^2$ multiplications is more efficient than AB multiplications. Thus, there are needs for an efficient $AB^2$ multiplier architecture. In this paper, we propose a low latency Montgomery $AB^2$ multiplier using redundant representation over GF($2^m$). The proposed $AB^2$ multiplier has less space and time complexities compared to related multipliers. As compared to the corresponding existing structures, the proposed $AB^2$ multiplier saves at least 18% area, 50% time, and 59% area-time (AT) complexity. Accordingly, it is well suited for VLSI implementation and can be easily applied as a basic component for computing complex operations over finite field, such as exponentiation, division, and multiplicative inverse.

Efficient finite field operation in the elliptic curve (EC) public key cryptography algorithm, which attracts much of latest issues in the applications in information security, is very important. Traditional serial finite multipliers root from Mastrovito's serial multiplication architecture. In this paper, we adopt the polynomial basis and propose a new finite field multiplier, inducing numerical expressions which can be applied to exhibit 3 times as much performance as the Mastrovito's. We described the proposed multiplier with HDL to verify and evaluate as a proper hardware IP. HDL-implemented serial GF (Galois field) multiplier showed 3 times as fast speed as the traditional serial multiplier's adding only Partial-sum block in the hardware.

In public key cryptography such as RSA, modular exponentiation is the most time-consuming operation. RSA's modular exponentiation can be computed by repeated modular multiplication. To attain high efficiency for RSA, fast modular multiplication algorithms have been proposed to speed up decryption/encryption. Montgomery multiplication is limited by the carry propagation delay from the addition of long operands. In this paper, we propose a hardware structure that reduces the area of the Montgomery multiplication implementation for lightweight applications of RSA. Experimental results showed that the new design can achieve higher performance and reduce hardware area. A frequency of 884.9MHz and 250MHz were achieved with 84K and 56K gates respectively using the 90nm technology.
