박피가 인삼의 색택 및 주요 성분 함량에 미치는 영향 (Changes of Surface Color Formation and Constituents of White Ginseng Preparer with Peeling by Using Barker)

  • 본 연구는 박피시간에 따른 백삼의 색택과 일반성분 및 사포닌 함량의 변화에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 백삼 표피의 색택은 박피시간이 길어질수록 양호하였다. 일반성분인 조지방, 조단백질, 지방산 및 아미노산은 박피에 따라 약간 증가하였으나 탄수화물 및 유리당은 감소하였다. 조사포닌과 ginsenosides 함량은 박피에 따라 크게 감소하였다. 박피 인삼의 ginsenosides는 무박피에 비하여 약 20-30% 감소 하였다. 이러한 결과는 백삼의 박피가 색택을 좋게 하지만 인삼의 주요 유효성분인 사포닌 함량의 현저한 감소를 초래하였다.

길경(Platycodi radix) 분획물의 항염증 활성 (Anti-Inflammatory Action of the Fractions of Platycodi radix)

  • The extract of Platycodi radix has long been used as an anti-inflammatory traditional medicine in Korea for the treatment of bronchitis, asthma and acute respiratory disease. In this study, the anti-inflammatory actions of the methanol extract of Platycodi radix administered via oral administration were evaluated. The results revealed that the extracts exhibited potent anti-inflammatory action. Of the hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol and water fractions, the butanol fraction had the most potent anti-inflammatory action. Additioinally the sapogenin obtained through acid hydrolysis of the butanol fraction did not show anti-inflammatory action. These findings confirm the value of Platycodi radix as a traditional Korean medicine.

만룡(蔓龍)의 생약학적(生藥學的) 연구(硏究) (Pharmacognostical Studies on ‘Manryong’)

  • The pharmacognostical and pharmacological studies of 'Manryong' were carried out, which has been widely used in Chun-Ra Province, Korea and the following results were obtained. 1) The original plant of the bulb MANRYONG is Erythronium japonicum DECNE. (Liliaceae). 2) The internal structure consists of mostly parenchyma containing numerous starch grains, vascular bundles and substituted fibers. 3) The external surface occurs as a yellowish white and slightly bented ovoidal shape. 4) 'Manryong; contains 11 kinds of free amino acids, such as asparagin, tryptophan, cystine, glutamic acid, threonine, glycine, leucine, proline, histidine, methionine, and alanine. 5) Hemolytic action of the crude saponin isolated from 'Manryong' is weaker than that of digitonin. 6) Effects of 'Manryong' extracts on ceruloplasmin were studied and an antidotal activity of the extracts was found in liver intoxicated with carbon tetrachloride.

Yogurt 제조시 인삼성분이 Lactobacillus casei의 증식과 산생성에 미치는 영향 (Influences of Ginseng Component on Cell Growth and Acid Production by Lactobacillus casei Burins Yogurt Fermentation)

  • In order to obtain the basic data for the preparation of yogurt containing ginseng component, the effect of ginseng component on cell growth of Lactobacillus casei YIT 9018 and on lactic acid production were investigated. Initial cell growth and acid production were markedly inhibited by the addition of ethanol extracts in the level of 8% into 15% skim milk. Crude saponin did not show any inhibitory effect on cell growth and acid production, but ether layer fraction showed inhibitory effect. It was thought to be more advantageous to add ginseng extracts after the fermentation of milk than before. The addition of ginseng extract at 8% level into liquid yogurt was most suitable in organoleptic test. Cell viability was not affected by the addition of ethanol extracts up to 8% level during storage of liquid yogurt.

Saponins from the Callus Mass of Phytolacca americana

  • Strong anti-inflammatory saponins Phytolacca americana (Phytolaccaceae) wereobtained from callus mass derived from the stems and also from that derived from the roots of cultivated Phytolacca americana (which were designated as PAS and PAR, respectively). The callus were grown on Linsmair and Skoog's agar medium supplemented with 1ppm OF 2, 4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid. Phytol accoside B and D were obtained from PAS and phytolaccoside A and B from PAR. The thin layer chromatograms of the crude saponins from PAS and PAR were similar to those of original plants. PAS contained phytolaccoside B as a major component while phytolaccoside E was a major saponin in original plants.

  • Red ginseng tails were extracted with ethanol solutions over a range of concentrations and temperature conditions. Investigations were carried out to study the effects of treatments on yields, soluble solids, saponin and precipitate occured in red ginseng extract beverage during storage. It was found that: (1) Higher concentration of ethanol at low temperature resulted in less yield of crude extract (2) The amount of precipitate in the non-purified extract beverage were less with decrease in ethanol concentration used (3) The treatment for purification of extracts and storage of purified extract at 37$^{\circ}C$ for 6 months had no effect on HPLC chromatogram pattern of saponins (4) The amount of purified extract decreased by purification treatment and more decrease was found as the temperature and concentration of ethanol increased. For Preparation of red ginseng extract beverage, the treatment of extracts with ethanol at low temperature was found to be more effective to minimize precipitation in tile beverage.

팽화처리가 인삼Extract의 품질에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Puffing treatments on the Sensory Qualities improving of Ginseng Extract)

  • The effect of puffing treatments on the sensory qualities improving of Ginseng Extract were investigated in the good products for rejecting soil flavor as Ginseng foreign bad taste, through chemical analysis and actual manufacturing practice, the following results were obtained. Puffing treated<15kg / ㎠psi> ginseng has produced a marked increase in soluble solid, crude saponin yield to the extent of 10% and without soil taste as compared with control Ginseng. Optimum Ginseng ethanol extraction condition were 90$\^{C}$ for 8 hours, which was cheap operating cost and color, apperance, total solid yield of Ginseng extracted products. For 70% ethanol extraction in temperature range of 60∼90$\^{C}$ for 8 hours, the higher temperature resulted higher yields in solids and Ginsenoside Especially, GinsenosideRgl as most effective physiological function component yield was increased in 18% by puffed Ginseng than control Cinseng products. The Hunter's color, L. a and b values of Ginseng extract were 31.09, 21.9 and 49.5 and increase brown and red color value and total Δ Evalue.

진공력적방식(Vacuum Impulse Stem)을 이용한 홍삼의 추출 방법 (Extraction and Concentration Method of Red Ginseng by Vacuum Impulse System)

  • 추출 시간을 5시간으로 단축하고, 추출 온도를 $33\~50^{\circ]C$로 설정한 진공력적방식 조건과 $80^{\circ]C$의 고온의 다중단 추출방식 간의 조사포닌 함량비교 결과, 고온의 다중단 추출방법으로 제조한 엑스의 조사포닌 함량이 $8\~9\%$인데 비하여 저온 및 단시간 추출인 진공력적 추출방법은 조사포닌 함량이 $11.5\%$$41.9\%$ 높았다. 또한 진공력적 추출방법이 엑스 수득율비교에서도 $13.6\%$ 증가하였다. 향미는 종합적으로 진공력적엑스가 강하였으며 이를 선호하는 경향이었다. 진공력적추출 엑스의 색상은 기존 제품 엑스와 유사하였고 유동성이 좋았다. 진공력적 추출법은 짧은 추출 시간과 공정 자동화로 인건비 감소를 기대할 수 있으며, HPLC 패턴으로 사포닌 분해가 거의 없음을 확인 할 수 있었다.

미삼의 추출 조건에 따른 인삼 프로사포게닌 성분 변화 (Changes in the Contents of Prosapogenin in Ginseng Radix Palva (Panax ginseng) Depending on the Extracting Conditions)

  • This study compared the contents of ginseng prosapogenin depending on the extracting conditions of Ginseng Radix palva(Panax ginseng) to provide basic information for developing Ginseng Radix palva-based functional foods. Our findings show that the content of crude saponin peaked at 18 hours of extraction and when extracted twice at $100^{\circ}C$ (GRP-18). However, the content of total saponin reached its height at 6 hours of extraction at $100^{\circ}C$ (GRP-6) and when extracted twice. On the other hand, the content of ginsenoside $Rg_3$, $Rg_5$ and $Rk_1$ from Red and Black ginseng reached their heights at 18 hours of extraction, followed by 72 hours and 15 hours of extraction at $100^{\circ}C$. And at $100^{\circ}C$ the main prosapogenin of the content of Black ginseng ginsenoside $Rg_5$ and $Rk_1$ reached their heights at 18 hours of extraction, followed by 72 hours and 15 hours of extraction.
