가교제 무첨가 PMMA 모르타르의 역학적 특성 (Mechanical Properties of PMMA Mortars without Crosslinking Agent)

  • This study deals with the mechanical properties of polymethyl methacrylate(PMMA) mortars without crosslinking agent. Waste expanded polystyrene(EPS) is used as a multifunctional admixture such as a thickener, a extender, a shrinkage reducing agent, a assistant to polymerization. PMMA mortars are prepared with various EPS contents of binder and subjected to a dry and a dry/heat combined curing, and tested for working life, flexural and compressive strengths. From the test results, the working life of PMMA mortars without crosslinking agent is shortened with raising EPS content of binder. The flexural and compressive strengths of the PMMA Mortars are decreased somewhat with increase in the EPS content. PMMA mortars with good mechanical properties could be manufactured without any crosslinking agent and their properties would be controled by adjusting EPS content of binder.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the setting properties of polystyrene mortars using waste expanded polystyrene(EPS) solution-based binders. The binders for polystyrene mortars are made by mixing crosslinking agent with waste EPS solutions which prepared by dissolving EPS in styrene. Polystyrene mortars are prepared with various EPS concentrations of EPS solutions and crosslinking agent contents, subjected to a dry curing, and tested for working life, peak exotherm temperature and 10h-length change. From the test results, the working lives of polystyrene mortars are shortened with raising EPS concentration of EPS solution and crosslinking agent content. Low-shrinkage or non-shrinkage of polystyrene mortars should be accomplished by adjusting EPS concentration of EPS solution and crosslinking agent content.

보강성충전제의 가황조건 의존성에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Dependence of Cure Condition for Reinforcing Filler)

  • The purpose of this experimental study was to investigate the effects of vulcanization condition on the properties of reinforced rubbers. Rubber reinforcing ability of carbon black was more efficient than other fillers, but tensile properties were not affected by vulcanization condition while vulcanization condition affected the physical properties of rubber compounds with silica and silane treated slica. It was found that silica and silane treated silica filled rubber compounds showed good dynamic properties, rebound, heat build-up, 0 and $60^{\circ}C$ tan $\delta$ compared with carbon black filled rubber compounds. Carbon black filled rubber compounds were higher than silica and silane treated silica filled rubber compounds in total crosslinking density by vulcanization condition. By analysis of crosslinking type, polysulfide crosslinking was the highest in the carbon black filled rubber compounds with decreasing the ratio of sulfur to accelerator, monosulfide crosslinking was the highest in the silane treated silica filled compounds with in-creasing the ratio of sulfur to accelerator.

Characteristics of Heat Shrinkable High Density Polyethylene Crosslinked by ${\gamma}$-Irradiation

  • The effects of ${\gamma}$-irradiation on the crosslinking of high density polyethylene (HDPE) was investigated for the purpose of obtaining a suitable formulation for heat shrinkable materials. In this study the HDPE specimens were prepared by blending with cross linking agents and pressed into a 0.2 mm sheet at 18$0^{\circ}C$. ${\gamma}$-irradiation was conducted at 40 to 100 kGy in nitrogen. The heat shrinkable property and thermal mechanical property of the HDPE sheets have been investigated. It was found that the degree of crosslinking of the irradiated HDPE samples were increased with irradiation dose. Compared with the HDPE containing triallylisocyanurate, the HDPE containing trimethylol propane triacrylate shows a slight increase in crosslinking density. The heat transformation and dimension change of HDPE decreased with increasing radiation dose. The heat shrinkage of the samples increased with increasing annealing temperatures. The thermal resistance of HDPE increased upon the crosslinking of HDPE.

  • Fluoroalkyl methacrylate, 아크릴산, 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA)를 공중합한 불소화 아크릴계 이온성 고분자로 제조한 이온성 고분자-백금 복합재료(IPMC)의 구동력을 증대시키기 위하여, HEMA의 OH기를 1,3-diethoxy-1,1,3,3-tetramethyldisiloxane으로 가교하였다. 가교반응에 의하여 IPMC의 수분흡수가 감소하면서, 기계적 강도, 구동력이 증가함을 관찰하였다. 그러나 IPMC의 구동성, 즉 외부 전위에 의한 변위와 전류량은 가교에 의해 감소하였다.

Development and Characterization of the Asphalt Binder with Low-heat and Crosslink Structured Additive

  • In this study, a low-heat additive with a crosslink structure was dispersed in asphalt to simultaneously lower the production temperature of, and to modify the asphalt binder. This low-heat additive was prepared by different feeding ratios of styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) and polyvinylchloride (PVC) as polymer modifiers, and ZnO as a crosslinking agent. In order to confirm the crosslinking density and compatibility of the crosslink structured low-heat additive with asphalt, surface free energy, swelling ratio, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and scanning electron microscope (SEM) parameters were carefully investigated to examine this relationship, and the role of the crosslink structured low-heat additive. In addition, by measuring the penetration and softening point of the asphalt binder, it was confirmed that it corresponds to PG 64-22. With increasing ZnO in the crosslink structured low-heat additive, the swelling ratio decreased, leading to an increase in crosslinking density. The crosslink structured low-heat additive and the asphalt binder were found to be compatible with each other by DSC and SEM analysis.

ECH(Epichlorohydrine)으로 처리한 리오셀 직물의 피브릴레이션 경향 및 염색성에 관한 연구 (Fibrillation tendency and Dyeing characteristic of Lyocell treated with Epichlorohydrine)

  • Lyocell is a not only environmentally-friendly but also very advantageous fiber. When Lyocell is soaked in water, its wet tenacity does not decrease and elongation and moisture regain of it are better than cotton. However, one drawback of lyocell is its fibrillation. The fibrills of lyocell were generated during wet process such as scouring and dyeing deteriorates the dyeing color depth and the appearance of fabric. The purpose of this study was to decrease the fibrillation tendency of lyocell fabric using crosslinking agent, epichlorohydrine(ECH). The effects of NaOH scouring and ECH crosslinking were observed. The different types of ECH addition methods to lyocell and the various concentrations of ECH in crosslinking reaction onto dyeing characteristic and fibriallation were investigated. Weight loss and whiteness index of crosslinked lyocell by ECH were examined. K/S values of ECH treated lyocell fabrics dyed with reactive dye were measured and SEM images of untreated and treated lyocells were observed extensively to define the fibrillation tendency. The results were as follows ; 1) ECH treatment showed the effect of weight loss and scouring because ECH crosslinking reaction was conducted in alkaline condition. 2) The increase in ECH concentration from 5 to 30% does not affected K/S value changes. 3) ECH crosslinking can effectively prevent the fibrillation tendency of lyocell.

감마선 조사 방법에 따른 정형외과용 초고분자량 폴리에틸렌의 미세구조 변화 (Microstructural Changes in Orthopaedic-Grade Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) according to Gamma-Irradiation Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 인공관절 베어링 부품으로 가장 널리 사용되는 초고분자량 폴리에틸렌(UHMWPE)을 대상으로 6가지 감마선 조사 방법에 따른 UHMWPE의 미세구조 변화를 비교 분석하였다. 감마선을 조사하지 않은 폴리에틸렌(UGI)과 비교하여, 기존의 멸균처리에 해당하는 공기 중 상온에서 감마선 조사한 폴리에틸렌(AR)의 결정화도와 가교 정도는 유의한 차이를 보이며 증가하였다. 감마선 조사 환경 중, 상온에서의 산소(AR)와 진공상태(VR) 영향을 비교하면, AR과 VR의 결정화도는 유의한 차이가 없었으며, VR의 가교정도는 유의한 차이를 보이며 증가하였다. 감마선 조사 환경 중, 진공상태에서의 상온(VR)과 극저온(V77) 영향을 비교하면, 결정화도와 가교정도 모두 유의한 차이가 없었다. 그러나, VR과 V77에서의 가교정도는 AR에서의 가교정도보다 유의한 차이를 보이며 증가하였다. 3가지 감마선 조사 환경에 대하여 감마선 조사 이후 열처리(/S) 영향을 비교하면, 결정화도는 AR/S와 VR/S에서 유의한 차이가 없었으나, V77/S에서는 유의한 차이를 보이며 감소하였다. 또한, 가교정도는 AR/S와 V77/S에서 유의한 차이를 보이며 증가하였으며, VR/S에서는 유의한 차이가 없었다.

가교제 종류가 PVA-PAN 복합 중공사 분리막의 초산 탈수 거동에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Cross-linking Agents on the Acetic Acid Dehydration Behaviors of PVA-PAN Composite Hollow Fiber Membranes)

  • 고농도의 초산수용액을 분리 농축하기 위해 polyacrylonitrile (PAN) 중공사 복합막을 제조한 후 투과증발 분리실험을 통해 제조된 복합막의 분리성능을 확인하였다. 제조된 중공사 복합막의 코팅여부를 알아보고자 SEM 사진을 측정하였으며 코팅두께가 $3.85{\mu}m$로 균일하게 코팅된 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 막의 투과성능평가 실험을 수행한 결과 가교제의 농도와 가교온도가 증가함에 따라 투과도는 감소하고 선택도는 증가하는 경향을 나타내었고, 대표적인 결과로 가교제인 glutaraldehyde 농도 13 wt%, 가교온도 $140^{\circ}C$에서 투과도 $250g/m^2{\cdot}hr$, 선택도 13의 결과를 얻을 수 있었으며, 또 다른 가교제로서 poly (acrylic acid) 농도 9 wt%, 가교온도 $140^{\circ}C$일 때 투과도 $330g/m^2{\cdot}hr$, 선택도 9의 값을 얻을 수 있었다.

가황조건별 배합고무의 가교밀도와 고무보강성에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Crosslinking Density and Reinforcement of Rubber Compounds by Cure System)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 카본블랙 첨가량 변화, 가황조건 및 가황시스템 변화에 따른 배합고무의 가교밀도 및 고무보강성을 조사하고자 하였다. 결합고무량은 배합고무중 카본블랙 체적비가 증가함에 따라 증가하였으나, 총가교밀도는 결합고무량 증가에 따라 감소하였다. 가황반응 속도상수는 가황온도 및 가황시스템에 따라 현저하게 변화하였으며, 특히 가황온도에 강한 의존성을 나타내었다. 가황반응의 활성화에너지는 카본블랙 첨가량이 많고 EC 가황시스템이 적용된 배합고무 또는 카본블랙 첨가량이 적고 CC 가황시스템이 적용된 배합고무에서 높게 나타났다. 가황된 배합고무중 가장 높은 총가교밀도는 카본블랙 첨가량이 적고 가황시스템중 CC 가황시스템이 적용된 배합고무에서 나타났으며, EC 가황시스템에 의한 총가교밀도의 뚜렷한 변화는 나타나지 않았다. Mooney-Rivlin식에 의한 가장 높은 탄성상수는 카본블랙 첨가량이 적고, SEC 가황시스템이 사용된 배합고무에서 나타났다. 모듈러스는 배합고무중 카본블랙 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 증가하였으며, 가황시스템별 영향은 SEC>CC>EC 시스템 순으로 높게 나타났다.
