  • This study analyzed how mental health affects stress in adolescents. The subjects of the study were data of about 60,000 middle and high school students living in the country, using cross-tabulation data and chi - square test to analyze the relationship between stress and mental health of adolescents. As a result of the research, it was found that the adolescents exposed to the excessive stress showed a poor correlation with the recovery of the fatigue, while the adolescents with relatively low stress showed the good recovery of fatigue. In the case of mental illness, depression or despair, the students who answered that they were stressed showed a lot of experience. In the case of suicide ideation, suicide attempt, and suicide attempt, the number of attempts to commit suicide was high when the level of perceived stress was high similar to the result of previous analysis. This finding confirms that stress is an important factor in the quality of life in adolescent mental health. It can be used as a strategy and business to prevent the problem of youth suicide in modern society in advance by stress management.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the agricultural management characteristics of young farmers and to analyze the factors affecting the sales of agricultural products of young farmers. For the analysis, variables related to characteristics of agricultural managers and farm management were used, and cross tabulation analysis and multinomial logistic models were applied. The results show that young farmers have the advantages of high education attainment, high income, crop selection, large size of farmland and high utilization rate of information technology. However, the low rate of specialized farming, passive participation in producer organizations, and low availability of agricultural machinery can be disadvantages. Reflecting the characteristics of young farmers, policies should be established to make use of their strengths and to make up for their weaknesses.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the influence of workplace violence experience on depression among female caregivers in Korea. Methods: This study was a secondary data analysis of data from the 5th Korean Working Conditions Survey (KWCS). The study sample consisted of 484 female caregivers. IBM SPSS 25.0 was used for complex sample analysis, which considered sampling the weights of variables. Based on the survey questions, we used complex sample cross-tabulation and the complex sample general linear model (CSGLM). Results: About 10.1% of female caregivers experienced workplace violence. The factors influencing workplace violence experience on depression were organizational justice (p=.048) and illness (p=.004). However, in cases with no violence, the influencing factors were psychological work environment (p=.001), work environment satisfaction (p=.024), and work engagement (p=.004). Conclusion: Caregivers are vulnerable to workplace violence. Therefore, it is necessary to formulate a policies such as organizational justice, work environment satisfaction, and work engagement to improve the working environment.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between limited oral function and cardiovascular disease in adults over 40 years of age. Methods: Data from the Seventh Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2016-2018) was used. In this study, 8,766 adults over the age of 40 years were included as study subjects. They completed a health survey which included current prevalence of hypertension, stroke, myocardial infarction, and angina pectoris, as well as information about blood tests, physical measurements, and oral examinations. Statistical analyses were carried out using complex sample cross-tabulation analysis, general linear model, and logistic regression analysis. Results: The study showed that limited oral function was experienced by patients with stroke (61.3%), myocardial infarction (49.1%), cardiovascular disease (38.5%), hypertension (38.1%), and angina (36.4%) (p<0.05). In patients with stroke, the risk of limited oral function was 2.393 times higher than in patients without stroke. Patients with hypertension were 1.233 times more at risk of speaking difficulty than those without hypertension. Conclusions: Limited oral function is associated with cardiovascular disease. To improve oral health, it is necessary to provide integrated, health-based oral care.

  • Nutrition fact labels (NFLs) have advantages because they are an intuitive tool that provides unified information regulated by the government and does not require any devices or special skills. During pandemic, with increased interest in information about healthy food choices and optimum nutrition, frequent exposure to NFLs on pre-packaged foods and dietary supplements may have helped consumers become aware of and/or use NFLs. We aimed to evaluate NFL usage changes from the pre- and early to the late pandemic years in the Korean adult population, using data from the Korean Community Health Survey (3-year total respondents n = 687,610) conducted from 2019 to 2021. NFL awareness, effect, and utilization ratios in each subgroup (sex, age, diabetes mellitus/hypertension, subjective health status, and physical activity) were analyzed for the 3 years by the cross-tabulation test of weighted complex sample analysis. Despite the declining awareness of NFLs in the Korean population, the proportion of individuals who were affected by the NFL content in the entire population and the utilization ratio among those who were aware of NFLs increased continuously during the early and late pandemic periods. Thus, Nutrition experts and policy-makers need to increase efforts to maintain interest in NFLs that emerged during the pandemic. NFLs, a conventional but well-regulated and effective tool, may have enabled the Korean population to make healthy food choices during the pandemic.

  • The purpose of this study is to define U-Eco City services and to analyze the possibility and easiness of application in urban space. The most significant meaning of this study is that these results could be used as the design and planning guidelines for integrated U-Eco City. This study progress as follows; First, U-Eco City concept and their services were defined and the spatial units of U-Eco City were distinguished through literature review. Second, U-Eco City spaces are classified into four levels such as building, street, facility and district. Finally, the application of U-Eco city services was analyzed together by the statistical technique of cross-tabulation. 35.7% of U-city services was serviced in urban district and 38.8% of Eco City services was applied to Building. U-City and/or Eco city services were adapted differently according to the urban spatial hierarchy. Those services should be applied in terms of the characteristics of urban space in designing and planning U-Eco City.

  • As a variety of industrial technology advances with various materials developed, cosmetics industry in general is witnessing many kinds of new cosmetic products. At the same time, Cosmetics Act becomes effective, and cosmetics ingredient labeling is implemented. Concerns with life pattern such as life management, biorhythm, right posture, and stress symptoms are on the increase in order to seek high-quality life as well. These life patterns are closely connected not only with life quality and health but with skin management, and thus this paper conducts a survey on the connection between functional cosmetics awareness and life pattern. Results show that out of 16 questions concerning cosmetics awareness, responses to question number 3, 5, 6 and 11 have relevant differences among colleges. Furthermore, the results of cross analysis with life pattern show that there are relevant differences between the year of responses and stress symptoms and between the year of responses and right posture. Lastly, it is shown that answers to questions regarding gender and biorhythm, gender and right posture, and gender and stress symptoms are relevantly different. Further research is needed to reveal the differences between college students and ordinary people at large.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze market opportunities for Korean image fashion products, focusing on adolescents. In other words, preference, purchase intention and gift intention of adolescents on Korean image fashion products were analyzed. For this study, four stimuli which reflect Korean image were chosen. We measured design evaluation and adolescent fashion innovativeness. The subjects for this study were 219 high school students. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Duncan test, cross-tabulation, correlation analysis, multiple regression. The more innovative the subject is, the higher the clothing purchase frequency and the purchase price are. Also, high-innovative group showed that they like Korean image fashion products more than low one. Product attributes such as prettiness and newness significantly influenced purchase intention for their own use and for others as a gift. In conclusion, when related marketers and scholars provide Korean image products that target adolescents, they should try to make those products more sophisticated and modern.
