2단계 스테레오 정합기법을 이용한 DEM 추정 (DEM Estimation Using Two Stage Stereo Matching Method)

  • A stereo matching has been an important tool for reconstructing three dimensional terrain. By using stereo matching technique, DEM(Digital Elevaton Map) can be generated by the disparity from a reference image to a target image. Generally disparity map can be evaluated by matching the reference image to the target image and if the role of the reference and the target are interchanged, a different DEM can be obtained. In this paper, we propose a new fusion technique to estimate the optimal DEM by eliminating the false DEM due to occlusion. To detect the false DEM, we utilize two measure of accuracy: self-consistency and cross-correlation score. We test the effectiveness of the proposed methods with a quantitative analysis using simulated images. Experimental result indicate that the proposed methods show 24.4% and 33.1% improvement over either DEM.

영상의 특징점과 비용함수를 고려한 스테레오 정합개선 (Improve Stereo Matching by considering the Characteristic Points of the Image and the Cost Function)

  • 본 논문에서는 최종 변이영상의 정확도를 높이기 위해 영상의 특징점을 이용한 적응적 가변 정합창 방법과 교차 일치성 검사의 신뢰도를 높이는 방법을 제안한다. 제안한 적응적 가변 정합창 방법은 색상정보를 이용하여 영상을 분할하고 분할된 각 영상의 특징점을 찾아 그 특징점들의 유무에 따라 정합창의 크기를 적응적으로 가변시키는 방법이다. 또한 제안한 교차 일치성 검사 방법은 최적의 변이와 차상위 최적의 변이에 대한 비용함수 값들을 비교하여 비용하수 값 자체가 너무 크거나 두 비용함수의 차이가 너무 적은 경우를 찾아내어 처리하는 방법이다. 제안한 두 방법에 대한 Middleburry에서 제공한 네 가지 실험영상을 대상으로 실험한 결과 적응적 가변 정합창 방법은 최대 18.2%의 오차율을 감소시켰다. 또한 제안한 교차 일치성 검사는 최대 7.4%의 신뢰도를 향상시킨 것으로 나타났다.

  • 차량 항법 시스템에서 맵 매칭(map matching) 방법은 데드 레코닝(dead reckoning) 기법으로 구한 차량의 위치가 지도상의 도로위에 일치하지 않는 경우에 이를 도로위에 매칭(matching) 시키기 위한 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 교차로 부근에서 차량의 회전을 감지함으로서 센서 및 수치지도자료에 기인하는 위치오류를 보정할 수 있는 새로운 맵 매칭 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안된 알고리즘은 진행거리의 상대오차와 도로거리의 절대오차를 이용하여 교차로 지역의 범위를 설정하고, 설정된 지역에서 차량의 진행각을 감지하여 교차로에 연결된 각 도로에 대한 출발지점을 알아내고, 회전각과 진행각을 비교하여 새로운 위치를 알아내는 방법이다. 제안된 알고리즘의 효율성을 검증하기 위하여 거리센서로 속도센서를, 방향센서로서 광 자이로를 이용하여 휴대용 컴퓨터에 시스템을 구성하고, 대전지역을 시범지역으로 선정하여 알고리즘을 실험한 결과 그 유효성을 입증할 수 있었다.

Automatic Building Reconstruction with Satellite Images and Digital Maps

  • This paper introduces an automated method for building height recovery through the integration of high-resolution satellite images and digital vector maps. A cross-correlation matching method along the vertical line locus on the Ikonos images was deployed to recover building heights. The rational function models composed of rational polynomial coefficients were utilized to create a stereopair of the epipolar resampled Ikonos images. Building footprints from the digital maps were used for locating the vertical guideline along the building edges. The digital terrain model (DTM) was generated from the contour layer in the digital maps. The terrain height derived from the DTM at each foot of the buildings was used as the starting location for image matching. At a preset incremental value of height along the vertical guidelines derived from vertical line loci, an evaluation process that is based on the cross-correlation matching of the images was carried out to test if the top of the building has reached where maximum correlation occurs. The accuracy of the reconstructed buildings was evaluated by the comparison with manually digitized 3D building data derived from aerial photographs.

특성 선도를 이용한 자동차용 연료 지침계의 연료 소비율에 따른 시스템 제어 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study of Fuel Gauge System Matching Method Using Characteristic Chart to Fuel Consumption Ratio in Vehicles)

  • In the present study, fuel system matching was analyzed, and a characteristic chart for common use for design-related parts is presented. Based on the characteristic chart thus presented, controlled fuel system matching was tested for a 35-liter fuel system, and actual mass product movement coils were applied to validate the test. The keynote of the present research is the use of the characteristic chart to devise a preferred fuel system matching method. Through the present study, it will be possible to design standard parts for efficient fuel system matching in the near future.

Highly Dense 3D Surface Generation Using Multi-image Matching

  • This study presents an automatic matching method for generating a dense, accurate, and discontinuity-preserved digital surface model (DSM) using multiple images acquired by an aerial digital frame camera. The proposed method consists of two main procedures: area-based multi-image matching (AMIM) and stereo-pair epipolar line matching (SELM). AMIM evaluates the sum of the normalized cross correlation of corresponding image points from multiple images to determine the optimal height of an object point. A novel method is introduced for determining the search height range and incremental height, which are necessary for the vertical line locus used in the AMIM. This procedure also includes the means to select the best reference and target images for each strip so that multi-image matching can resolve the common problem over occlusion areas. The SELM extracts densely positioned distinct points along epipolar lines from the multiple images and generates a discontinuity-preserved DSM using geometric and radiometric constraints. The matched points derived by the AMIM are used as anchor points between overlapped images to find conjugate distinct points using epipolar geometry. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated for several different test areas, including urban areas.

Propensity Score Matching 방법을 이용한 간호중재 효과 평가 (The Use of Propensity Score Matching for Evaluation of the Effects of Nursing Interventions)

  • Background: Nursing intervention studies often suffer from a selection bias introduced by failure of random assignment. Evaluation with selection bias could under or over-estimate any intervention's effects. PS matching (PSM) can reduce a selection bias through matching similar Propensity Scores (PS). PS is defined as the conditional probability of being treated given the individual's covariates and it can be reused to balance the covariates of two groups. Purpose: This study was done to assess the significance of PSM as an alternative evaluation method of nursing interventions. Method: An intervention study for patients with some baseline individual characteristic differences between two groups was used for this demonstration. The result of a t-test with PSM was compared with a t-test without matching. Results: The level of HbA1c at 12 months after baseline was different between the two groups in terms of matching or not. Conclusion: This study demonstrated the effects of a quasi-random assignment. Evaluation using PSM can reduce a selection bias impact that affects the result of the nursing intervention. Analyzing nursing research more objectively to reduce selection bias using PSM is needed.

사전검수 영역기반 정합법을 활용한 영상좌표 상호등록 (Automated Image Co-registration Using Pre-qualified Area Based Matching Technique)

  • Image co-registration is the process of overlaying two images of the same scene, one of which represents a reference image, while the other is geometrically transformed to the one. In order to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the co-registration approach, the author proposed a pre-qualified area matching algorithm which is composed of feature extraction with canny operator and area matching algorithm with cross correlation coefficient. For refining matching points, outlier detection using studentized residual was used and iteratively removes outliers at the level of three standard deviation. Throughout the pre-qualification and the refining processes, the computation time was significantly improved and the registration accuracy is enhanced. A prototype of the proposed algorithm was implemented and the performance test of 3 Landsat images of Korea showed: (1) average RMSE error of the approach was 0.436 Pixel (2) the average number of matching points was over 38,475 (3) the average processing time was 489 seconds per image with a regular workstation equipped with a 3 GHz Intel Pentium 4 CPU and 1 Gbytes Ram. The proposed approach achieved robustness, full automation, and time efficiency.

고속 블록 정합 움직임 측정을 위한 십자-다이아몬드-삼각 탐색 알고리즘 (A Cross-Diamond-Triangle Search Algorithm for Fast Block-Matching Motion Estimation)

  • 본 논문에서는 CDS(Cross-Diamond Search algorithm) 및 CDHSs(Cross-Diamond-Hexagonal Search algorithms)의 성능을 향상시키기 위하여 탐색 영역의 위치에 따라 최적의 탐색 형태를 적용하는 CDTS(Cross-Diamond-Triangle Search algorithm)를 제안한다. CDTS에서 탐색 영역의 위치에 따라 최적의 탐색 형태를 적용하기 위하여 다양한 실험 영상들의 움직임 분포를 먼저 분석하였다. 분석된 움직임 분포에 근거하여 CDTS 구현 시 탐색 영역 중심부에서는 십자 탐색 형태와 다이아몬드 탐색 형태를 적용하고, 나머지 탐색 영역에서는 삼각 탐색 형태와 다이아몬드 탐색 형태를 적용한다. CDTS에서 제안하는 삼각 탐색 형태는 기존 탐색 알고리즘에서 사용하는 대칭형 구조와는 다르게 비대칭형 구조를 가지고 탐색점을 더욱 감소시키는 효과를 제공하면서도 화질을 유지할 수 있다. CDTS를 CDS 및 CDHSs와 비교하였을 때 화질 열화 없이 각각 평균 16.22$\%$ 및 3.09$\%$ 정도의 탐색점 감소 효과가 나타났다.

헬리콥터용 2단 축류압축기의 재설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Redesign of the Two-Stage Axial Compressor for Helicopter Engines)

  • In developing a multistage compressor, the stage matching is one of the critical design issues. The mismatching can be often observed even if each stage has been proven good and then used as part of a compression system. A good matching among the stages can be achieved by changing various design parameters (i.e., passage cross sectional areas, blades angles, stagger angles, curvature, solidity, etc.). Therefore, designers need to find out what parameters must be changed and how much. In this study, a method to search the design parameters for optimum stage matching has been used based on an 1-D mathematical model of a compressor, which uses the data obtained from the preliminary test to identify the design parameters. This methodology is applied with a two-stage axial compressor, which was originally designed for a helicopter gas turbine engine. After identifying design parameters using preliminary test data, an optimization process has been employed to achieve the best matching between the stages (i.e., maximum efficiency of the compressor at its operation modes within a given range of the rotor speed under given restrictions for required stall margins and mass flow). 3-D flow calculations have been performed to confirm the usefulness of the corrections based on the 1-D mathematical model. Calculational results agree well with the experimental data in view of the performance characteristics. Some promising results were produced through the methodology proposed in this paper in conjunction with flow calculations.
