  • In general, the size of tunnel cross section in construction site is $50{\sim}200m^2$. But, electric cable tunnel, telecommunication cable tunnel, mine tunnel. Waterproof tunnel have small cross section less than $20m^2$. There are so many problem at small sectional tunnel: restriction of equipment, dead pressure by precompression, loss of efficiency, increase of work time. Especially, explosives remainder by precompression of previous detonation is serious problem. To find its measures of dead pressure (explosives remainder), the following series of progress have been conducted: (1) survey of previous study (2) investigate causes of dead pressure (3) set up of its measures (4) application and appraisal at tunnel site. The measures, change of cut pattern, hole space over 40cm, adjustment of delay time, are proved by experimental results.

  • In this study, the leak signal was measured by using an accelerometer to analyze the basic data and methodology for the development of the leak point estimation method in the water supply pipe. The measured results were analyzed by frequency analysis and cross-correlation analysis for leakage signals, and the error range was compared and analyzed with the actual leak point distance. As a result, it was confirmed that the vibration intensity due to leakage from the water leakage point was attenuated according to the distance. In the case of the ductile iron casting used in the experiment, the intensity of the signal at the 945 Hz, 1,500 Hz, 2,300 Hz band was increased with the change of the pressure in the pipe at 4mm of leakage hole. Also, it was confirmed that as the water pressure increases, the intensity of the leak signal increases but the similarity of the signal decreases. The results of this study confirm that the accelerometer sensor can be used efficiently for leak detection and it can be used as a basic data for the analysis for the development of leak point estimation method in the future.

  • It is described that the total analysis of CD-R, a digital recording media, including the planning and performing chemical analysis of cross sectional structure of recording layer, dye composition and chemical structure as an example of design for chemical analysis. Since chemical analysis of unknown sample is often involved the complicated process requiring many experiences and knowledge, students feel difficulties in planning the procedure of chemical analysis and selecting analytical methods. Thus, an example of chemical analysis is provided here to help student understanding the hole procedure of CD-R analysis. In this study, SEM is used to determine the cross sectional structure of PC substrate and recoding layer of CD-R. The dyes in recording layer is dissolved with solvent and separated with using TLC, analyzed with using UV-Vis absorption spectrometer. Then, the chemical structure of each component is determined with using GC-MS, NMR and mass spectrometer.

  • It was necessary to devise new techniques to overcome and enhance the resolution limits of traveltime tomography. Waveform inversion has been one of the methods for giving very high resolution result. High resolution image could be acquired because waveform inversion used not only phase but amplitude. But waveform inversion was much time consuming Job because forward and backward modeling was needed at each iteration step. Velocity-stress method was used for effective modeling. Resolution limits of imaging methods such as travel time inversion, acoustic and elastic waveform inversion were investigated with numerical models. it was investigated that Resolution limit of waveform inversion was similar tn resolution limit of migration derived by Schuster. Horizontal resolution limit could be improved with increased coverage by adding VSP data in cross hole that had insufficient coverage. Also, waveform inversion was applied to realistic models to evaluate applicability and using initial guess of travel time tomograms to reduce non-linearity of waveform inversion showed that the better reconstructed image could be acquired.

  • Orientation corrections for the total of 268 accelerograph stations of the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) were estimated using ambient noise cross-correlation. As this method uses ambient noise data instead of teleseismic waveforms from earthquakes under certain conditions, reliable orientation corrections can be obtained using only two-month long continuous seismic data from dense seismic networks in the Korean peninsula.Three-component continuous data recorded at the 268 accelerograph stations from January to February 2020 were used to estimate orientation corrections. The results are comparable to the previous results obtained from teleseismic waveforms; the overall standard deviations of the orientation corrections are less than 5°. Therefore, orientation corrections for the accelerograph station network can be tracked periodically by the ambient-noise method and the result can be used in various studies using the horizontal-component of acceleration data.

  • A wind tunnel experiment for the flow around a 1/5 scale passenger vehicle model has been carried out. A 5-hole Pitot tube is used for measuring velocity distributions around the model and a scanivalve with 48 ports is used for measuring surface pressure distribution at various Reynolds numbers. In order to observe the flow on the surface and in the wake region, a flow visualization experiment has been performed using wool tuft with and without paper cones. In addition, a 2-dimensional viscous calculation considering only the mid-plane section of the model has been performed. A complex wake structure in the immediate rear of the model has been confirmed. The distributions of the surface pressure coefficient are not sensitively dependent on the Reynolds Number. In the first half of the model, they do not seem to vary form section to section. However, in the second half, they do vary from section to section, especially at the bottom surface, which indicates that the cross flow vortex is more affected by the bottom surface than the top surface. The qualitative agreement of the measured and calculated velocity field also explains the usefulness of the 2-dimensional calculation in the limited sense.

  • In order to improve static stability and healing of reattached labrum, we combined the advantages of suture bridge and transosseous technique. Using the conventional 3 portal for anterior instability, check stability of bony Bankart and preparation of glenoid bed in 3 way including removal, reshaping or mobilization of bony fragment. Two anchors were inserted to the superior and inferior portion and medial edge of bony Bankart lesion. It usually corresponded to the area of IGHL. Medial mattress sutures were applied around IGHL complex to get enough depth of glenoid coverage using suture hook. Make 3.5mm pushlock anchor hole to the articular edge of glenoid cartilage. Proximal suture bridge was applied at first and then distal suture bridge was inserted to mobilize the labrum in proximal direction. These construction can provide more stable labral repair with wide contact and compression in case of deficient bony stability. It not only avoids technical disadvantage of point contact with anchor fixation, but also decreasing gap formation through cross compression of labrum that couldn't gain even with the transosseous fixation which affords linear compression effect. Additional bony stability could be gained if the the bony fragment was mobilized to the glenoid margin with potential healing bed or reshaped for the good contact with reattached labrum.

  • The purpose of this study was to describe the micromorphological changes in Korean red pine (Pinus densiflora S. et Z.) wood decayed by a major brown-rot fungus, Lentinus lepideus, using scanning electron microscope and transmission electron microscope. At the end of the 12-week exposure to the fungus in soil block procedure(ASTM 1971), test blocks sustained 5.02% weight loss. The formation of bore hole by hyphae and penetration of hyphae through bordered pit were not observed. Instead, fungal hyphae appeared to penetrate axially tracheid luminar from the the ray cells via cross field pits. Hyphae were mainly found in lignin rich cell corner regions of tracheids, and also extensive degradation of tracheid wall occurred in this region. Extensive degradation of $S_2$ layer occurred without noticeable alteration of the $S_3$ layer, but warty layer and compound middle lamella remained relatively intact. Localized erosion, the characteristic of white rot, was observed in some cell wall and wall components including lignin were found to be decomposed.

  • Recently, interest in ground subsidence in urban areas has increased after a large sinkhole occurred near the high-story building area in Jamsil, Seoul, Korea, in 2014. If a massive sinkhole occurs in an urban area, it is crucial to assess its risk rapidly. Access to humans for on-site safety diagnosis may be difficult because of the additional risk of collapse in the disaster area. Generally, inspection using drones equipped with high-speed lidar sensors can be utilized. However, if the sinkhole is created vertically to a depth of 100 m, similar to the sinkhole in Guatemala, the drone cannot be applied because of the wireless communication limit and turbulence inside the sinkhole. In this study, a three-dimensional (3D) scanning system was fabricated and operated using a towed cable in a massive vertical sinkhole to a depth of 200 m. A high-speed lidar sensor was used to obtain a continuous cross-sectional shape at a certain depth. An inertial-measuring unit was applied to compensate for the error owing to the rotation and pendulum movement of the measuring unit. A reconstruction algorithm, including the compensation scheme, was developed. In a vertical hole with a depth of 180 m in the mining area, the fabricated system was applied to scan 0-165 m depth. The reconstructed shape was depicted in a 3D graph.
