Effect of internal angles between limbs of cross plan shaped tall building under wind load

  • The present study revealed comparison the pressure distribution on the surfaces of regular cross plan shaped building with angular cross plan shaped building which is being transformed from basic cross plan shaped building through the variation of internal angles between limbs by $15^{\circ}$ for various wind incidence angle from $0^{\circ}$ to $180^{\circ}$ at an interval of $30^{\circ}$. In order to maintain the area same the limbs sizes are slightly increased accordingly. Numerical analysis has been carried out to generate similar nature of flow condition as per IS: 875 (Part -III):1987 (a mean wind velocity of 10 m/s) by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) with help of ANSYS CFX ($k-{\varepsilon}$ model). The variation of mean pressure coefficients, pressure distribution over the surface, flow pattern and force coefficient are evaluated for each cases and represented graphically to understand extent of nonconformities due to such angular modifications in plan. Finally regular cross shaped building results are compared with wind tunnel results obtained from similar '+' shaped building study with similar flow condition. Reduction in along wind force coefficients for angular crossed shaped building, observed for various skew angles leads to develop lesser along wind force on building compared to regular crossed shaped building and square plan shaped building. Interference effect within the internal faces are observed in particular faces of building for both cases, considerably. Significant deviation is noticed in wind induced responses for angular cross building compared to regular cross shaped building for different direction wind flow.

열처리에 의해 가교된 다공성 키토산-알지네이트-젤라틴 지지체의 특성 (Characteristics of porous Chitosan-Alginate-Gelatin Scaffold Cross-linked by Heat-treatment)

  • 소재로 제조된 다공성 지지체의 기계적 물성 향상을 위해서 사용되는 가교제는 세포독성으로 인해 지지체의 생체적합성을 저하시킨다. 본 연구에서 키토산, 알지네이트 및 젤라틴으로 제조된 다공성 지지체는 가교제를 사용하지 않고 열처리에 의해 가교시키고, 가교된 다공성 지지체의 물성을 조사하였다. FT-IR분광분석을 통해 열처리된 다공성 지지체의 가교는 고분자 쇄간의 아미드 또는 에스테르 결합에 의해 형성되었음을 확인하였다. 열처리 다공성 지지체는 100~200m크기의 연결된 공극 구조를 형성하였고, 가교제 처리 다공성 지지체에 비해 수분 흡수력은 2배 이상 향상되었다. 열처리 다공성 지지체의 인장강도는 가교하지 않은 다공성 지지체에 비해 130% 이상 향상되었고, 최대 신장률은 가교처리 다공성 지지체보다 11.3% 향상되었다. 따라서 열처리로 물성을 증가시킨 천연고분자 소재의 다공성 지지체는 생체적합성이 우수한 조직공학용 지지체로서 유용하다.

국산 이중에너지 방사선흡수 골밀도 장치와 GE Lunar Prodigy의 교차분석 식 도출에 관한 연구 (Cross-Calibration of Domestic Devices and GE Lunar Prodigy Advance Dual-Energy X-Ray Densitometer Devices for Bone Mineral Measurements)

  • Reliable follow-up of bone mineral density (BMD) by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) is essential in clinical practice. When there is a difference in the BMD values from DXA systems in the same patient, cross calibration equation is required for the reliable follow-up. Unfortunately, no equation is existed in BMD measure between GE Lunar Prodigy Advance (US, GE Healthcare; LPA) and Osteosys Dexxum T (Korea, Osteosys; ODT) DXA systems. In this study, we evaluate the agreement of BMD values between LPA and ODT and suggest the cross calibration equation using European spine phantom (ESP) with two systems. We performed BMD measurements using ten scans with ESP in each DXA systems. We compared BMD values and calculated cross calibration equation by linear regression analysis. The comparison between the LPA and ODT bone densitometers used the ESP. Compared to the ESP BMD values, ODT underestimated 14.36% and LPA overestimated 12.96%. The average of total BMD measurement values acquired with ODT were 21.44% lower than those from LPA. Cross-calibration equation for LPA and ODT was derived from ESP. We calculated simple cross calibration equation for LPA and ODT DXA systems. Cross-calibration equation is necessary for the reliable follow-up of BMD values in two different systems.

  • Insulator is being used for material of railroad vehicles as a barrier of heat and noise. But it shows various fire properties in case of fire. In this study, we compared smoke density(Ds) values of rubber foams with the different thickness of glass fiber cross-Al foil according to the standard of ASTM E 662. The result showed that the insulator and barrier property played an important role in decreasing the value of smoke density

Image Path Searching using Auto and Cross Correlations

  • The position detection of overlapping area in the interframe for image stitching using auto and cross correlation function (ACCF) and compounding one image with the stitching algorithm is presented in this paper. ACCF is used by autocorrelation to the featured area to extract the filter mask in the reference (previous) image and the comparing (current) image is used by crosscorrelation. The stitching is detected by the position of high correlation, and aligns and stitches the image in shifting the current image based on the moving vector. The ACCF technique results in a few computations and simplicity because the filter mask is given by the featuring block, and the position is enabled to detect a bit movement. Input image captured from CMOS is used to be compared with the performance between the ACCF and the window correlation. The results of ACCF show that there is no seam and distortion at the joint parts in the stitched image, and the detection performance of the moving vector is improved to 12% in comparison with the window correlation method.

Infeed Control Algorithm of Sorting System Using Modified Trapezoidal Velocity Profiles

  • This paper applies acceleration/deceleration control-based velocity profiles to an infeed control algorithm for a cross-belt-type sorting system to improve the accuracy and performance of the system's infeed. The velocity profiles are of a trapezoidal shape and often have to be modified to ensure that parcels correctly synchronize with their intended carriers. Under the proposed method, an infeed line can handle up to 5,600 items/h, which indicates a 40% increase in performance in comparison with its existing handling rate of 4,000 items/h. This improvement in performance may lead to a reduction in the number of infeed lines required in a sorting system. The proposed infeed control algorithm is applied to a cross-belt-type sorting system (model name: SCS 1500) manufactured by Vanderlande Industries.

엇회전식 축류팬의 작동조건 변화에 따른 비정상 유동에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Unsteady Flow under Various Operating Conditions of a Counter Rotating Axial Flow Fan)

  • Experiments were done for the unsteady flow in a counter rotating axial flow fan near peak efficiency and stall point. Flow fields in a counter rotating axial flow fan were measured at cross-sectional planes of the upstream and downstream of each rotor. Cross sectional passage flow patterns were investigated through the acquired data by the $45^{\circ}$ inclined hot-wire. Comparison of flow characteristics between two different operating conditions such as tip vortex, secondary flow and turbulence intensity were performed through the analyses of axial, radial and tangential velocity distributions. As a result, tip vortex and secondary flows are enforced and measured obviously at stall point.

비정렬 유한 체적법을 이용한 횡류홴 유동장 해석 (Prediction of Cross Flow Fan Flow Using an Unstructured Finite Volume Method)

  • A Navier-Stokes code has been developed to simulate the flow through a cross flow fan. It is based on an unstructured finite volume method and uses moving grid technique to model the rotation of the fan. A low Reynolds number turbulence model is used to calculate eddy viscosity. The basic algorithm is SIMPLE. Numerical simulations over a wide range of flow rate aye carried out to validate the code. Comparison of all numerical solutions with experimental data confirms the validity of the present code. Present numerical solutions show a noticeable improvement over a previous numerical method which is based on a model of body force to simulate the rotation of the impeller.

  • This study is aimed to design a priority setting algorithm necessary for evaluating and selecting interdependent R&D planning system alternatives. In case that the relationship of technology alternatives is interdependent, a relative importance as occurrence or nonoccurrence of the technology alternatives viewed from the future time varies. So, we are subject to design the evaluation process considering a cross- impact of future technology alternatives. Thus, we apply the cross impact analysis (CIA) model to consider the cross-impact among interdependent system alternatives. Also, the analytic hierarchy process(AHP) model is applied to determine the priority of alternatives by taking the pair-wise comparison among factors.

가공방식에 따른 초정밀 연삭의 비교 (Comparison of 3 Typical methods for ultra-precision grinding)

  • Three methods for grinding: cross grinding, slanted tool axis grinding and parallel grinding, were carried out to study the machinability of tungsten carbide mold for glass formed aspherics lens. In our research, the optimum grinding conditions were investigated in terms of feed-rate, relative velocity of wheel and work piece, tool marks and surface roughness. It is shown that cross grinding are most effective in removal ratio but poor in surface roughness. In addition, tool marks of each method were differentiated on direction and shape.
