Static according tests were carried out on a series of amorphous TbFe thin films of various composition under a constant laser irradiation condition. Examination of recorded domain configurations by using polarizing microscope led to the categorization of domain characteristics into 3 distinctly different types; i.c., type A: circular domains with smooth boundaries, the size not sensitive to variation of bias field, type B: domains of irregular shape at low bias, the size increasing and the boundaries getting smoother and more circular with increasing bias field and type C: not recordable. Critical factor which distinguishes among each types was fond to be the relative magnitude of H and H of the film near T, regardless of constituent atomic species. Micromagnetical process of thermomagnetic recording cycle was analyzed scheniatically for each type.

Two Diaporthe species isolated from fruit of Citrus sinensis in China were characterized based on morphology and multilocus phylogeny of ITS, tef1, and tub2 gene sequences. The phylogeny indicated that the two species match Diaporthe taoicola and D. siamensis. A critical examination of phenotypic characteristics confirmed the phylogenetic results. Diaporthe taoicola was morphologically characterized by producing Alpha conidia with tapering toward both ends. Meanwhile, D. siamensis produced cylindrical or ellipsoidal Alpha conidia with two oil drops. Pathogenicity tests revealed that both species were pathogenic to fruit of C. sinensis. To our knowledge, the two species were firstly reported on Citrus sinensis in China.

The article is a critical examination of the political developments in Armenia since the 'Velvet Revolution' of April-May 2018, when, on the wave of massive protests against the ruling regime, new young forces came to power raising amongst broad segments of population enormous enthusiasm and hopes about radical reforms that would lead to profound transformations in the political and socio-economic spheres. It contains a thorough analysis of underlying political processes in the country in an attempt to answer a number of topical questions, so important to get a deeper understanding of the situation in Armenia and in the South Caucasus region. Based on the analysis of the new authorities' performance against the acknowledged benchmarks and standards of democracy consolidation, such as: separation of powers, independence of the judiciary, good governance, transitional justice the author comes to the conclusion that they failed to achieve any breakthrough in the above-mentioned fields. On the contrary, as demonstrated by concrete examples, what occurred in Armenia was not a revolution but a mere regime change under the leadership of Prime Minister Pashinyan, who gradually has concentrated in his hands executive, legislative, and quasi-totality of the judicial branch of power.

This study explores how American war films modify or reenact American exceptionalism depending on political and social situations in the United States. To this end, it analyzes the two war films, Saving Private Ryan and We Were Soldiers that were released before and after the 9/11 attacks as a critical juncture in the twenty first century, respectively. While the former conducts a partial modification on American exceptionalism in order to restore the national identity and moral authority of the United States lost ever since the Vietnam War, the latter demonstrates a complete reenactment of American exceptionalism in accordance with the foreign policy of the Bush administration and neoconservatism. It concludes with the illumination that the examination of American war films within the framework of American exceptionalism is efficacious in understanding from a broad perspective how American exceptionalism is utilized depending on political and social situations in the United States.

Zoonotic poxvirus infections pose significant threat to human health as we have witnessed recent spread of monkeypox. Therefore, insights into molecular mechanism behind poxvirus replication cycle are needed for the development of efficient antiviral strategies. Virion assembly is one of the key steps that determine the fate of replicating poxviruses. However, in-depth understanding of poxvirus assembly is challenging due to the complex nature of multi-step morphogenesis and heterogeneous virion structures. Despite these challenges, decades of research have revealed virion morphologies at various maturation stages, critical protein components and interactions with host cell compartments. Transmission electron microscopy has been employed as an indispensable tool for the examination of virion morphology, and more recently for the structure determination of protein complexes. In this review, we describe some of the major findings in poxvirus morphogenesis and the contributions of continuously advancing electron microscopy techniques.

In this paper, I discuss some asymmetries of bracketing paradoxes from a corpus-based perspective. Through a critical examination of previous analyses of bracketing paradoxes, it is demonstrated that the cases of apparent asymmetries of bracketing paradoxes are consistently accounted for when combined with the frequency-based parsability in morphological processing. Based on the relative frequency, this paper argues that bracketing paradoxes are well-atttested when their immediate bases are frequent and productive enough to be accessed as a unit and stored as such in memory. This is an extension of Hay 2002 which conducted a comprehensive survey of differential frequency effects in suffix pairs. A frequency-based approach to bracketing paradoxes adopted in this paper can be a challenge to the conventional formal theory by assuming a major role of language use and have the potential to significantly advance our understanding of the asymmetries observed in the real language world.

A taxonomic revision of Deutzia in Korea was conducted based on critical observations of wild populations and herbarium specimens. Species delimitations were re-evaluated on the basis of morphological characters and distributions resulting in the recognition of five taxa. The texture of leaf, flower disk and capsules, the shape of leaf, inflorescence and capsules are useful diagnostic traits at the specific level. The five taxa are well distinguished from each other. Deutzia grandiflora var. baroniana can be distinguished by its distribution and calyx from Deutzia uniflora, which are morphologically similar. Deutzia paniculata Nakai, a rare and endemic plant, is characterized by having panicle in inflorescences. On the other hand, Deutzia glabrata Kom. is occasionally confused with Deutzia parviflora, but the most distinctive characters include the surface of leaves, the surface and size of capsules. Photographs and a key to five species of Deutzia were provided in addition to distribution.

In recent years, French courts have decided to adopt an uncompromising stance in the fight against corruption in international arbitration. While French enforcement/annulment courts were originally conducting a limited review of arbitral awards dealing with corruption allegations on international public policy grounds, they now carry a full re-examination of such awards accepting that a corruption plea be raised for the first time before them and admitting new evidence. What is at stake, in terms of international public policy, is to define the happy medium between, on the one hand, the necessity to preserve the enforceability of international arbitral awards, and, the necessity to fight corruption. This paper presents the evolution of French case law in the past years and makes a critical assessment of the French approach by comparison with other jurisdictions.

This paper introduces the concept of temporary utopia, which is private rather than communal and individual rather than collective, to investigate a paradoxical relationship between longing and loss in the individuals' utopian process. The main argument is grounded in Ernst Bloch's critical theory of utopia, which gives more weight to its function and process rather than its form and destination, which is the opposite of the traditional utopian imagination. The notion of temporality as utopic-spatial consequences is illustrated with a case study of New Malden's North Korean community in London, United Kingdom. Through the examination of North Koreans' utopianism, it amplifies how the individual memories, emotions, and longings are re-created, re-built and re-imagined in the form of temporary utopias to incorporate the endless ideals and changing conditions of the individuals. This investigation sheds new light on urban ethnic enclaves as utopia in the realm of architecture and urbanism.

Blood pressure measurement (BPM) is an essential part of medical examination, and therefore accuracy of BPM devices is crucial. Over the past few years, there has been a rise in new BPM techniques using photoplethysmographic (PPG) signals and complex algorithms for blood pressure estimation. Especially the combination of a mobile device or a smartphone with a camera using PPG may potentially revolutionize BPM in the future. The first-ever BPM application to be approved as a medical device was one by the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety in 2020, despite the lack of robust scientific evidence proving its validity. While the prospect of using these novel BPM devices is an opportunity, there are also some critical issues around calibration and utility in different patient groups that need to be resolved before they can be incorporated into daily clinical practice.
