The Application of Real Options Theory in Defense Offset Contract (절충교역에서의 실물옵션 방법론 적용에 관한 연구)

  • Defense offset is considered to be all effective way of acquiring defense critical technologies and arms components as a counter-trade obligation ill defense acquisition contracts. Although arranging the offset contracts is wide]y perceived as necessary, there hardly exists an acceptable model of valuation of the offset technology. By undertaking the technology valuation approach and applying the option approach tn the offset program, we present an offset technology valuation model that maximizes social net benefit of the countries transferring the technology. This article applies our model to an actual case of defense technology transfer in the Republic of Korea. The contribution of this paper is in applying the option approach to the valuation of defense onset technology, providing for the additional flexibility to tile analysis. Our research suggests several policy implications that can be applied to the actual process of defense offsets. Our results elucidate managers' role and responsibilities in designing such a process by applying option approaches.

Optimization of Injection Molding Design Using Two-Characteristic Value Function Methodology (두 특성의 가치함수를 이용한 사출성형의 최적 설계)

  • Optimizing multiple design characteristics which are usually in conflict with each other in the injection molding process is frequently becoming a critical problem for designers who work in this area. The purpose of this work is to develop an automated design methodology for optimizing two such design characteristics found in injection-molded parts. A value function based on decision-making theory is used as a means of evaluating the performance of a two-characteristic design alternative. Also, a design space reduction algorithm based on Taguchi's orthogonal arrays is utilized to discover an optimal design alternative. Verification of the developed design methodology is carried out for an actual model with two design characteristics, the weld line and the gate location, to be optimized in computer simulation experiments.

  • The behaviour of an unsaturated soil was analyzed by performing $K_0$ consolidated triaxial tests. Unsaturated triaxial tests were performed with matric suctions for weathered soils and could catch stress paths under consolidation and stress-strain relationships under shear. As a result, both isotropic and $K_0$ conditions had similar shear strength envelopes in the same matric suction. Especially, strength parameters could obtain by stress variables based on critical state theory reasonably which was better than those by Mohr circles at failure.

Effect of Underground Cavity on Bearing Capacity of Strip Footing (지하공동 위에 설치된 기초의 지지력)

  • 본 논문에서는 지하공동 위에 설치된 띠 기초의 지지력에 대하여 upper bound theory를 이용하여 연구하였다. 기초 크기, 공동의 크기 및 위치, 그리고 지반의 물성치의 영향에 관하여 고찰하였으며 10개의 파괴 형상에 대하여 분석을 수행하였다. 각각의 파괴형상은 지반의 물성치 및 기하학적인 형상에 관한 함수로 표현되어 컴퓨터 해석을 통한 최소화를 시행하였다. 최소화를 위한 프로그램은 Boland C++ Builder를 이용하여 작성한 후 PC에서 수행되었다. 10개의 파괴형상 중 최소의 기초 지지력을 작성된 컴퓨터 프로그램을 통하여 구하였고 이를 해당 기초의 극한 지지력으로 추정되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 종합 정리하여 지하공동 위에 위치한 띠 기조의 극한 지지력을 구할 수 있는 간단한 식을 제시하였다.

Employee Resistance in the Context of Information Systems Implementation : An Organizational Support Perspective

  • When implementing a new information system, the success has been infrequent even though implementing a new IS can bring about various benefits to organizations. Employee resistance has been identified as a critical reason for such failure of implementing and operating a new IS. The vital role of orgazniational support with employee personality traits (e.g., tolerance for ambiguity and openness to expeirence) to reduce employee resistance has been missing when explaining to the failure of impleneting a new IS. The purpose of this study was to test a research model regarding employee resistnace, investigating the relationship bewteen organizational support and employee personality traits in that how organizational support influences employee resistance and also how employee personality traits (e.g., tolerance for ambiguity and openness to expeirence) interact with organizational support to decrease employee resistance the most. The results of this study supported our hypotheses and theoretical and practical implications are discussed.

  • Service-Learning pedagogy includes community service and reflection as main components. Students can learn integration and application of knowledge beyond specific fields through experiences and reflection. The purpose of family and Consumer Sciences Education is related to connect theory and practice to improve individual, family, and community life. The curriculum focuses not only on content mastery in subjects, but also application of that knowledge to the real lives of students. Considering the purpose of service-learning as integration and application of knowledge, service- learning pedagogy can contribute to rethink family and Consumer Sciences Education. Reflection as a key component is examined for service-learning pedagogy. Exploring a deeper meaning of reflection in aspects of community connection, critical thinking, and transformative learning would extend the value of it and provide implications for implementing reflection in service-learning pedagogy in Family and Consumer Sciences Education.

  • The Purpose of this study is working out of the scientific-theoretical and practical recommendations directed on perfection of strategic planning of development of the enterprises of mining and gold mining branch. The methodological basis of research is based on the economic theory developed by a domestic and foreign science. At processing, generalisation and a writing of materials of the master's thesis following methods were applied: - supervision, - comparison, - the analysis and synthesis, - methods of an induction and deduction, - statistical groupings, - average and relative sizes, - the system approach. Finally, the theoretical and practical importance of this research consists that results of research will allow generating a basis of statement of effective system of strategic planning of a long-term sustainable development of the gold mining enterprises reducing risk of acceptance of inefficient strategic decisions.   • The problem ofinstability of laminated circular cylindrical shell under the action of torsio or lateral pressure is investigated. The analysis is based on the Sander's theory for finite deformations of thin shell. The buckling is elastic for thin compoisite shell nad the geometry is assumed to be free of initial imperfections. The equilibrium equations are obrained by usitn the p[erturbation technique. Solution procedure is based on the Galerkin mehtod. The computer program for numerical results is made for several stacking sequence, length-to-radius ratio, and radius-to-thickness ratio. The numerical results of buckling load are present.

Buckling of Bimodulus Composite Thin Plate (이중탄성계수 복합재료판의 좌굴)

  • A new analytical method for the prediction of the buckling behavior of laminated plates consisting of layers having different properties in tension and compression, so called bimodulus, is proposed in this paper. Buckling analysis of bimodular composite laminated paltes are performed with the results reduced from plate bending analysis. The governing equations of bimodular plates are based on the first shear deformation theory. As a case study, bending and buckling of simply supported, multilayered, symmetric, antisymmtric, and specially orthotropic laminates under uniformly distributed lateral load for bending analysis and in-plane load for buckling are considered. The results of the bending analysis are compared with the previous papers. Then, the fundamental critical buckling loads and buckling modes are calculated for the various bimodular composite rectangular thin plates.

  • Various organizational factors effect successful implementation of IT enabled business transformation. Among them, the most critical success factor is deemed to overcoming change management problem. Lots of studies have been made on Implementation methodologies and business process formalizations to encourage organizational members to accept new business process changes. However, the logic or process redesign still depends on qualitative problem solving techniques mostly depending on basically human intuition such as brainstorming. cause-and-effect analysis. and so on. In this paper, we focused on developing analytic framework to design to-be business process structure. which can complement qualitative problem solving procedures. With effective use of IT as an enabler, we provide algorithmic framework applicable to designing various business process changes such as process automation, business process resequencing, and more radical process integration. The framework follows dynamic programming approach in the literature, which is based on the decision making paradigm of organizations to abstract business processes as quantitative decision models. As such, our research ran fill the gap of limited development of theory based analytic methodologies for business process design, by providing objective rationale to reach the consensus among the organizational members including senior management.
