  • Critical mathematics education has developed in many directions and has a broad range of approaches. There will probably be many different ways of expressing critical mathematics education. The book, An Invitation to Critical Mathematics Education by Ole Skovsmose (2011) has elucidated critical mathematical education by discussing and reinterpreting its concerns and preoccupations. He reinterprets thoughts and arguments that have been taken for granted and premised in mathematics education, and also discusses unquestioned widespread notions by associating them with his projects or specific practices carried out by him and his colleagues. This review intoduced and examined his crucial notions of critical mathematics education, such as "Diversity of situations," "Students' foreground, Landscapes of investigation," "Mathemacy," and "Uncertainty." These notions will make you to meet his theories with his pratices and look back on something overlooked in mathematics education.

  • Let K be an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0 and let f be a non-fibered planar quadratic polynomial map of topological degree 2 defined over K. We assume further that the meromorphic extension of f on the projective plane has the unique indeterminacy point. We define the critical pod of f where f sends a critical point to another critical point. By observing the behavior of f at the critical pod, we can determine a good conjugate of f which shows its statue in GIT sense.

  • Facilitating critical thinking is important for students' cognitive growth and knowledge acquisition. This study examines the dimensions of tutors' roles in facilitating the critical thinking required for problem solving in online discussions. The research procedures include identifying the research problems related to critical thinking skills; synthesizing theories and perspectives on critical thinking skills; and analyzing, validating, and determining tutors' roles. Using the results of this study, problem solving processes are divided into four phases: analyzing, judging, inferencing, and meta-cognitively evaluating. Tutors' roles in online problem solving can be categorized into four domains: cognitive, social, managerial, and technical. Tutors' roles in each domain are specifically analyzed, and the strengths, weaknesses, and improvements in tutors' facilitation of critical thinking for online problem solving are evaluated.

  • It is well known that the critical current of a HTS tape has anisotropic characteristic in magnetic field. We are interested in critical current density distribution of a HTS tape. We assumed the experimentally obtained Ic-B curves do represent the local properties of HTS tapes and calculated the critical current density distribution of HTS tapes using numerical method. Also we predicted the critical current of the tapes.

  • The field of critical care medicine has flourished, but an unfortunate result of improved patient survival in the intensive care unit is the occurrence of certain acquired neuromuscular disorders. During the last two decades, various neuromuscular disorders were recognized as common causes of weakness occurring in critically ill patients. The two most common disorders are an acute quadriplegic myopathy predominantly associated with the use of intravenous corticosteroids and neuromuscular junction blocking agents and severe systemic illness termed critical illness myopathy(CIM), and an axonal sensorimotor polyneuropathy termed critical illness polyneuropathy. I will review briefly about general components of the CIM.

  • It has been conjectured that, on a compact 3-dimensional manifold, a critical point of the total scalar curvature functional restricted to the space of constant scalar curvature metrics of volume 1 is Einstein. In this paper we find a sufficient condition that a critical point is Einstein. This condition is equivalent for a critical point ot be conformally flat. Its relationship with the Fisher-Marsden conjecture is also discussed.

  • Let G be a graph, and let a, b, k be integers with $0{\leq}a{\leq}b,k\geq0$. Then graph G is called an (a, b, k)-critical graph if after deleting any k vertices of G the remaining graph of G has an [a, b]-factor. In this paper, the relationship between binding number bind(G) and (a, b, k)-critical graph is discussed, and a binding number condition for a graph to be (a, b, k)-critical is given.

  • We view Weyl structures as generalizations of Riemannian metrics and study the critical points of geometric functional which involve scalar curvature, defined on the space of Weyl structures on a closed 4-manifold. The main goal here is to provide a framework to analyze critical Weyl structures by defining functionals, discussing function spaces and writing down basic formulas for the equations of critical points.

  • The critical reynolds number in a square-sectional straight duct is investigated experimentally. The experimental study for the air flow in a square-sectional straight duct is carried out to calssify critical Reynolds number on steady flow and unsteady flow. To calssify the critical Reynolds number we obtained velocity waveform by using a hot-wireanemometer and data acquisition system with photocorder.
