A survey was conducted from May 19 to 23, 2008, to gather data on the acquisition of a bachelor's degree and the credit bank system, and the answer sheets from 184 respondents(92%) were collected. After the collected data were analyzed with SPSS/WIN 12.0 program, the following findings were given: 1. In regard to an intention of taking a bachelor's degree, the largest number of the students investigated(74.5%) intended to do that if they had any chance. As for the reason, 55.6% wanted to get the degree in pursuit of their own personal development. 2. Concerning how to win a bachelor's degree, the largest group that accounted for 63.0% preferred the credit bank systems of college lifelong education centers. 41.8% got interested in the credit bank system mainly because their acquaintances informed them of it. It shows that colleges should reinforce publicity activities if they want to offer the credit bank system. 3. The quality of educational programs and cost had an impact on the choice of an educational institution when they planned to get a bachelor's degree from the credit bank system. Therefore excellent educational programs should be provided, and the government should provide learners with economic help and fund educational institutions. 4. As to comparison of a regular college and the credit bank system as a way to get a bachelor's degree, that was considered to be helpful for finding a job(a mean of 3.39) and for the development of sociability(3.22). That was also deemed to be of use for the improvement of practical job performance, to win public recognition and to be helpful for being well-cultivated, though not many students had those opinions. They took a different view according to academic year(p<.05). 5. Regarding the expected effects of getting a degree from the credit bank system, the greatest group expected it to step up their personal development(3.85). The second largest group expected it to boost job efficacy(3.30), and the students whose academic year was higher had a better opinion. 6. As for future directions for the credit bank system, the largest group put emphasis on the improvement of social perception through intensive P.R. and the enhancement of the qualifications of professors and lecturers(4.02). These opinions were more stressed by the juniors than by the sophomores and seniors, and academic year made a significant difference to their views(p<.05).

  • This study explores how to prevent the fraudulent export financing and its subsequent export insurance fraud in relation to O/A negotiation. Under the traditional letter of credit(L/C) transactions, the banks, as a negotiation bank, can extend trade financing to the exporters through negotiation of draft and/or shipping documents. Under the O/A transaction scheme, however, bank cannot ascertain existence of trade performance and it is much riskier to extend an advance financing to the exporters before the buyer sends confirmation of debt. In O/A negotiation. some exporters tried to fraud banks by falsifying the shipping documents and the size and gravity of this fraudulent export financing were huge. Therefore, this study examines the banking process in O/A-based trade financing, documents examination process, the negotiation of instruments, treatment of trade financing in export credit guarantee, most importantly, explores what could be the criteria for appropriate treatment of account receivable to insure the safe transfer of account receivable. To maximize the benefit for optimum trade financing, the Bank of Korea established several Trade Finance Rules (refers to "BOK Rules") requiring that commercial banks should maintain optimal credit limits(so called, 'the principle of optimal loan') to extend the trade finance. The K-sure post-shipment credit guarantee programs and short-term export insurance program(EFF)can also facilitate 'the principle of optimal loan' principle.

  • This paper aims to explore the question of whether the environment in Korea where credit card use is prevalent affects the intention to accept Fintech-based mobile payment. The institution that encourages the credit card use such as credit card receipt obligation may lead to the lock-in and build infrastructures to influence the acceptance of new payment acceptance. This paper investigates how the perceived of use, usefulness, accessibility and stability affect the intention to use mobile payment based on the Technology Acceptance Model(TAM) model with the mediator of lock-in and moderator of credit card receipt obligation. In the results, we found that the perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and accessibility positively impact on the intention of mobile payment usages. It is also observed that the usefulness and accessibility of credit cards positively mediate to the intention of mobile payment use.

  • This study investigated the effect of engineering education accreditation on employment rate at the University of Seoul. The graduates who had been educated in the accredited program showed higher grade point average (GPA) and higher employment rate (89.0%) than the graduates who had been educated in the program without the accreditation (70.9%). The employment rate of all graduates increased with increasing GPA, the mathematics-science-computer (MSC) credit acquired, design credit acquired, and the number of interviews with supervising professors. Theses results showed that the MSC and design subjects and the counselling are at least beneficial in getting a job for students at the University of Seoul. When GPA, design credit acquired, and the number of counselling are the same, graduates with the engineering education accreditation showed much higher employment rate than the graduates without the accreditation. These preliminary results suggest that the engineering education programs with accreditation at the University of Seoul are beneficial for students in getting a gob through motivating them to acquire more credits in design subjects, doing greater number of counselling with supervising professors, and making better academic achievement. In addition, the engineering education accreditation at the University of Seoul helped students developing their personal skills such as team workability, communication skills, and creativity via carrying out design subjects, which may affect the employment rate indirectly.

  • Due to social problems related to the recently increased number of people with bad credit, the argument has been made that economic education should be started long before their actual social life. Likewise, teaching methods and the content of economic education are also being actively discussed. To induce economic understanding in reality and to educate healthy consumers, long-term economic programs should be developed and implemented for adolescents while they are still at school.
