A Study of Machinima and Fair Use Doctrine in MMORPGs (MMORPGs에서의 머시니마와 공정이용 원칙에 관한 연구)

  • Machinima is a new medium of artistic expression that allows creators to produce faster and cheaper 3D animated works than ever before. However, the software owner controls all rights in the game. The principle of fair use allows for limited use of works without permission of the copyright owner for certain purposes. The application of the principle of fair use to any particular machinima will depend on the specific circumstances. In conclusion, in order to maintain the balance between the copyright owner and the user, the reasonable role of the court in Korea seems to be more important in interpreting the fair use clause.

  • 현재 인간의 감성표현을 위한 수단중의 하나인 음악이 인간의 감성반응을 자극하는데 어떠한 역할과 기능을 하는가에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구는 창작자 입장에서 감성 표현 시 음악의 요소들이 어떻게 활용되는지를 분석하고 각 의도된 정서 및 요소가 청취자의 감성반응으로 나타나는지를 연구하였다. 대표적인 음원 사이트인 네이버, 멜론, 엠넷에서 두 달 이상 5위안에 랭크된 곡들을 선정하였다. 선전된 각 곡들을 음악 전문가집단 대상에게 설문 조사하여 각 곡에 사용된 음악적 특징과 분석하고 각 요소 별 감성을 수집하여 연구 분석하였다. 이러한 연구를 토대로 창작자가 의도하는 감성과 청취자의 감성 반응에 대한 상관관계를 밝히는데 유용한 자료가 될 것이다.

Technostress Creators and Its Influence on Employees in Organizations (조직구성원들의 테크노스트레스 형성과 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Despite the growing interest in technostress phenomenon of employees in organizations, few guidelines exist about how mangers can effectively control their technostress. Accordingly, scholars should pay greater attention to how firms can successfully manage employees' technostress. This study conceptually developed and tested a research model for understanding the influence of technostress on psychological and behavioral strains. In addition, we tested technical support provision as a moderator. We obtained 107 samples through a survey questionnaire, and data were analyzed based on structural equation modeling (SEM). As a result, it was empirically demonstrated technostress decreases job satisfaction and individual productivity. We also found that technical support provision have moderating effects on the relationship of technostress and job satisfaction/individual productivity.

  • This paper presents ergonomic approaches to editing and evaluating content for 3D displays. Two systems, a nonlinear editing system and an evaluation system, were developed to improve viewing safety and comfort for 3D content observers and provide better usability for the creators from the viewpoint of ergonomics.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the characteristics of Arne Jacobsen's chair design. He was one of the few creators who inscribed his name in both the history of architecture and furniture design. His works reflected a form of "Regional Modernism" in which traditional techniques collide with functionalist beliefs. This grafting of ideas generated a person aesthetics which he used to establish a suitability of scale, detail an program for each design. In the material aspect, he had enjoyed using the plasticity of the plywood, polyurethane, tubular steel and in the formative aspect, organic form is combined with minimalization of material and simplicity. To sum up what is unique about Arne Jacobsen's chair design, it is that it is distinguished by a clear understanding and expression of beauty from nature, a complete understanding of the material used and the melding of traditional and functional techniques to generate organic form.anic form.

The Use and Study of Time-Lapse Tools in Virtual Sound Field Design

  • In this paper, we propose a methodology of using time-lag, make it serve the sound field, in order to smoothen the music production and reduce conflicts. The importance of music production in today's music industry chain is becoming more and more apparent. In the process of music production, the creators pay more attention to the design and adjustment of virtual sound field, especially the late mixing and production. In the process, as a commonly used tool for the adjustment of sound field, "time-lapse" plays a decisive role.

  • The animation "Gloom" based on the low poly art expresses the intention of the production by expressing an music as an animation. The paper describe the production process including the modeling, rigging, animation, and rendering. Furthermore, the production process for pure creative animation with client's intention was also considered. Therefore, it can provide guidelines for pure creators who do similar creative work.

  • The increase of illegal usage and conflict in digital content market would diminish motivation of creators for their work, furthermore break down digital content market on cyber-space. Watermarking technology support to the legal users by the protection technique based on the digital content copyright protection method(DRM). Most of previous digital watermarking have embeded to the content. In this paper, we propose a wavelet based watermarking method which is used for implementing in the frequency domain.

Spatial Analysis on the Cooperation Patterns of Public Research Institutes (공공연구기관 산학연 협력의 공간적 특성 분석)

  • This paper examines the intra-and inter-regional linkages of public research institutes (PRIs) with various innovation actors in Korea. In spite of the general consensus on the role of PRIs as innovation facilitators as well as creators, the attributes of regional spillover effect of knowledge created by PRIs have not been understood completely. Some argue that PRIs play pivotal role in encouraging intra-regional innovation networks through collective learning process. Others argue that PRIs are not necessarily related to intra-regional knowledge transfer, but play more important role in establishing national and international innovation linkages. This study attempts to figure out the current status of innovation linkages of Korean PRIs and to prove how the internal and external attributes of PRIs influence the development of spatial innovation linkages. Furthermore, it also tries to draw policy implication from empirical analysis results.

The Advertising Effects of Fashion Sexual Appeal Advertising (패션 성적소구광고의 광고효과에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine if there are the differences in advertising effects among three fashion sexual advertisements in terms of sexual appeal levels(high/medium/low). Through three pre-tests, three stimuli were chosen for this study. Three hundred female college students in Seoul participated in this study. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, ANOVA analysis, and reliability test were used. The results were as follows: First, from the factor analysis on advertising attitudes, three factors such as emotional, behavioral, and cognitive factors were produced. Second, there were significant differences in three sexual appeal levels among three advertising attitude factors. Third, there was also a significant difference in three sexual appeal levels on brand attitude. Finally, there was not a significant difference in the sexual appeal levels on purchase intention. Based on these results, this study would provide significant and efficient fashion advertising strategies to fashion advertising marketers and advertisement creators as implications.
