  • NFTs, which guarantee ownership of digital files using blockchain technology, are the new field for the content industry. The NFT provided new opportunities for content creators to trade digital contents without going through mediation freely. Additionally, collectors and investors can safely and easily own their works without the threat of illegal copies. However, since only a limited number of content creators are participating in the NFT market, there needs to be an influx of various content creators and a process of popularization for this market to grow and develop into the main stage. Furthermore, research on NFT has been limited, and understanding the drivers of creators choosing to participate in NFT is insufficient. Thus, this study aims to identify the factors affecting content creators participating in NFT by applying a mixed-methods approach and presenting practical implications. Using topic modeling and in-depth interviews, this study derives the positive and negative factors and suggests strategies to activate content creators' participation in the NFT market. Through this, we can guide that management implication to reduce the risks and costs of participating in NFTs is needed to encourage the participation of creators. It will also provide insight into ways to develop the NFT content market.

  • In this paper, we empirically examine how export pioneers emerge and how they are related to product creators/innovators, utilizing a rich plant-product level dataset from the Korean manufacturing sector for the period of 1990-1998. Our analysis covers the process from the appearance of product creators as well as product imitators to the emergence of export pioneers. We find, first, that product imitators are larger, more productive and older than product creators. Second, most export pioneers are nevertheless found to be product creators. This result is largely due to the fact that almost all export pioneers export the products in the same year as product creation. Third, there are similarities as well as differences between product creators and export pioneers. Plants that are more productive or larger are more likely to become product creators as well as export pioneers. However, previous exporting experience positively affects the probability of export pioneering only, while plants' engagement in R&D positively affects the probability of product creation only. We discuss possible explanations for our main empirical results as well as their policy implications.

A survey was conducted with consumers aged in their 20s and 30s who had experience in sharing video content or writing comments and participating in fashion creators' real-time broadcasting of personal media. The results show that the innovativeness of fashion creators was classified into originality, opinion leadership, variety, and adventurous spirit, while attractiveness was classified into physical, social, and professional attractiveness. Consumer responses were classified into either emotional or cognitive responses, and sustainable relationship orientation was classified into communication, sharing, and relationship sustainability. The originality and variety of the fashion creators positively affected the emotional and cognitive responses of consumers. Adventurous spirit positively affected emotional response, whereas opinion leadership positively affected cognitive response. In addition, the social and professional attractiveness of fashion creators positively affected consumers' emotional and cognitive responses. Emotional and cognitive responses positively affected consumers' sustainable relationship orientation. The originality and opinion leadership of the fashion creators positively affected the three factors of sustainable relationship orientation, while variety positively affected communication and relationship sustainability. Fashion creators' social and professional attractiveness positively affected the three factors of sustainable relationship orientation, and physical attractiveness positively affected relationship sustainability. The results of this study are expected to provide useful data on the direction of fashion startups using personal media and marketing as well as distribution strategies in the fashion industry.

  • YouTube, the most representative video sharing platform, is used by millions every day. New videos across various fields, such as daily life, beauty, games, eating, fashion, and music are constantly being uploaded. Among the content available on YouTube, beauty-related videos are particularly popular. Creators who produce and share beauty-related content on online media platforms are known as beauty creators. There is a significant amount of beauty-related content produced in response to high public interest. Most of this content focuses on sponsored advertisements related to product relevance and attitudes, such as makeup tutorials, hairstyle creation, and new product reviews. However, there is a lack of research on the diverse environments of self-media beauty creators and basic makeup production techniques. This study investigated the content composition of individual media YouTube beauty creators and examined the current status of YouTube beauty creators in Korea. This research is necessary for the development of diverse content and videos by beauty creators. Based on these findings, a makeup technique was developed for YouTube beauty creators, considering the production environment of marketing content and video production steps. This study aims to expand and specialize the broad range of content environments of beauty creators and develop makeup techniques that can be effectively used in YouTube content production.

  • This study conducted a survey the creators of less than 100,000 subscribers about the motivation of choosing MCN, dissatisfaction factors, and the need for public supports. The results show that the motivation to select MCN is that they were satisfied with content distribution and distribution support. However, the creators who distrusted the MCN or were able to operate independently were working independently. Creators were aware of the difficulties of entering overseas market. Creators who were not affiliated with MCN recognized content marketing and distribution. Creators affiliated with MCN recognized that it's the most difficult to enter overseas markets. And regardless of affiliation, satisfaction with profitability was low. In terms of gender, female creators were found to be less satisfied with video production excellence and ease of use of the video platform. Early creators commonly required infrastructure such as production support and production facilities, and particularly demanded public support for marketing and overseas expansion.

  • Purpose Since COVID-19, the demand for online class platforms has increased. However, those platforms have not been clearly defined, and related research is also limited. In the context of the knowledge marketplace (KMs), this study examined the effects of class information and trust in creators on class preferences from the perspective of consumption value theory. Design/methodology/approach By establishing a web crawler through Python, this study collected 1,174 class data in Korea's leading knowledge marketplace, Class 101, focusing on diverse class-related information and the number of Instagram followers for individual class creators. Based on class information, this research analyzed the effects of consumers' utilitarian value, social value, and hedonic value on class preference. In addition, this study examined whether consumers' trust in creators moderates the relationship between class information and class preference. Findings According to analysis results, it was found that the higher the consumers' consumption value for each class on KMs, the more positive their preference for the class. Also, it was confirmed that consumers' trust in creators moderates the relationship between class information and class preference.

  • The main objective of this study is to uncover the differences in the programming behavior between methodology creators and methodology users. We conducted an experiment with methodology creators who have invented one of the major object-oriented methodologies and with professional programmers who have used the same methodology for their software-development projects. In order to explain the difference between the two groups, we propose a theoretical framework that views programming as search in four problem spaces: representation, rule, instance and paradigm spaces. The main problem spaces in programming are the representation and rule spaces, while the paradigm and instance spaces are the supporting spaces. The results of the experiment showed that the methodology creators mostly adopted the paradigm space as their supporting space, while the methodology users chose the instance space as their supporting space. This difference in terms of the supporting space leads to different search behaviors in the main problem spaces, which in turn resulted in different final programs and performance.
