Study on Textile Product Development and Song HaYoung Class Satisfaction through Capstone Design Curriculum (캡스톤디자인 교육과정을 통한 텍스타일 상품개발 제안 및 수업만족도 고찰)

  • Capstone design is a creative and comprehensive educational program requiring practical adaptation skills for the industry. The purpose of this study was to analyze the results of design development, lectures and curriculum satisfaction for textile fashion products based on four years of capstone design curriculum from 2015 to 2018. The curriculum consists of 26 groups of 72 students and a total of 26 final results were obtained via industry-university cooperation. The materials for product design development included differentiated clothing, leisure goods, bags, dog goods, smart goods, interior goods and recycled products based on textiles. The degree of satisfaction with lectures involving the capstone design class was very high, with 4.2 out of 5.0 when the number of students was less than 10. However, when the number of students was 20 or higher and the number of students was large, the level of satisfaction was below 3.88. Therefore, the capstone design class comprising less than 10 students was better at individual teaching and teamwork. In terms of satisfaction with capstone design curriculum, the respondents indicated that the teaching method addressing the needs of industry and academia facilitated practical learning. It was very helpful in improving competency related to the design and development majors and future employment. The capstone design curriculum was effective in the training for practical design development and planning.

  • It is expected that interests and supports for 'the creative economy' will increase considerably since the establishment of the Park Geun Hye Administration. According to a report with respect to its cultural policy handed in by the Minister of Culture to the president on March 28, 2013, the administration will set up a basic plan of establishing regional fusion-typed laboratories including such genres as story telling, animations, games, cartoons, performances, etc. in May this year, and opening contents Korea laboratories across the country by the first quarter in 2014 as part of its core task. Furthermore, it will focus on implementing such policies for training professional manpower as creative mentoring programs, expansion of education for field employees and expansion of a creative education for young students, including a plan to train 1,000 creative contents talents by 2017 as described in the report. Since the Comics Promotional Law took effect in August 2012, the Korea Culture and Content Agency and the Comics Industry have been establishing the third plan for medium and long term development of the comics industry together. One of the most important policy is about training professional manpower. "Joint Business with Creative Talents," in which the amount of 4.5 billion won was invested, has already been implemented, and "Support Business for Field Employees of Comics Creating Enterprises," in which the amount of 0.6 billion won was invested, has been performed so far through the Korea Comics Contents Agency upon the request of the Comics Industry. The government's plan to train professional manpower is interlocked with its foundation and employment policies, and thus, this will be a good opportunity for colleges and universities that have comics related majors, especially for those that need proper measures for bring their graduates a chance to get a job. Accordingly, it seems that if the government develops more aggressive policies, reflects this on the third medium and long term development plan of the comics industry, and then organizes policy and study meetings led by the learned societies to implement this, it will be able to generate a significant synergy effect. This Article will concentrate on first examining the flow and patterns of the policy to train special manpower by the comics industry, the Ministry of Culture and related institutions since the establishment of the Comics Promotional Law, analyzing some problems in the first and second medium and long term development plan of the comics industry to be implemented from 2003 through 2013 and the third medium and long term development plan to be announced in June 2013 to train professional manpower, and then suggesting an effective direction and some alternatives to train professional manpower in universities in a medium and long term way.

  • The animation is in a boom as the one of rising media content industry of 21st century. So it is very affective to education. For example, in primary or secondary schools, there are extra-animation class after school, and in universities, there are a lot of the department of animation nowadays. In every years, a number of high-educated professionals are coming to the manpower market. This was an affirmative phenomenon for many animation companies to upgrade from OEM(Original Equipment Manufacturing) system to very creative system. They might believed that young, well-educated animators have qualified skills, and creative mind. But, 10 years later, now, there is few professionals who was well-educated in system of Korean animation. Companies still can not hire enough animators. Even if they can find an high-educated person, this person do not have enough skills to do his or her works, so companies need to re-educate this animator for awhile. But, why is very hard to find a skillful new animator? From this question, we will talk about educational condition of animation departments, and condition of employment to markets. And then, we will find the causes of problems which give bad effect to lack of manpower. Finally, we will summarize about policies for supporting animation, so hope to contribute for making better atmosphere for creating animations.

When define a small and medium enterprise, criteria to determine a small and medium enterprise is depends on country and a category of business. However, In every country, A small and medium enterprise is getting be bigger and importance factor in whole industry. A small and medium enterprise is well developed and also well balanced with a large enterprise in the developed country. All around in the world, Interest about a small and medium enterprise is becoming higher. It is actively researching into a small and medium enterprise as the mean to create new employment, new industry, as means to from integration of a all and medium enterprise,as source of high competitive power. The status quo of rapid changing into informationization have been realized at considerable level in Korea. Information society is defined as information technology is main key to determine individuals competitiveness, which can solve effectively the side effect result from industrialization. It cleary imply that information technology is the most promising and important industry in 21st century. Therefore, We should seek to foster independent a small and medium enterprise and develop them corresponding to new concept of a small and medium enterprise in 21st century. The main frame of policy should be new economic system, which can contribute establishment of a small and medium enterprise, management innovation. It also attribute a small and medium enterprise to reveal their creative. New economic paradigm in 21st will be expanded with organization, market, technology. So far, a small and medium enterprise has been acknowledge as economic weaker and the one should be protected. However, In 21st century a small and medium enterprise will be considered as active majority or a source of creative. Development of technology to produce a small quantity with variety product and acceleration of knowledge and informationization will result in comparative merits of a small and medium enterprise. Hereby, The role and relative importance of a small and medium enterprise in our economic will getting be larger and It will be developed as the main force to activate the economic. However, Only a small and medium enterprise, which overcome difficulty with active desire and effort to improve their lot can be developed as a competitive enterprise in 21st century in considering themselves to be developed as diversity, active, independent, business by an enterprise.

The Trend of Textile Design in the 1980s and Its Meaning in Historical Perspective (1980년대의 직물디자인 경향 및 그 사적 의미)

  • During the 1980s, Textile design achieved a remarkable growth in creating aesthetic effect and in establishing its standing by responding to demands of the time effectively and seeking changes proactively. This was a period when Textile design constructed its modern concept as it was attempting a qualitative improvement through advanced technology, high class, and differentiation. The advent of advanced materials through the development of textile engineering, employment of craft techniques to further cultural and artistic orientation, and restoration of decorativeness in pursuit of sensitivity, all these developments of the 1980s contributed to the rise of above characteristics. In this study, attempts are made to grasp the new trend of Textile design during the 1980s and to review diverse methods of aesthetic creation and plastic possibility which this trend presented for the Textile, and thus to recognize the role of Textile design and its importance in a new light. The new trend of Textile design during the 1980s can be summarized as follows: 1) An appreciation of the creative aspect of the Textile. As attempts are made to emphasize visual and sensitive aspects of the medium, Textile tended to become an object of art itself. 2) A new awareness of the representative and plastic capacity of the fiber material. As attempts are made to develope the creative potential of the Textile, representation of the material tended to become more diversified. 3) A recognition of the Textile as a proper means to deliver the spirit of the time. As the medium accommodates and fuses diverse cultures including traditional culture, more emphasis was place on cultural contents of the Textile. In the process of pursuing these changes, Textile design of the 1980s has also contributed to the creation of new values, laying the groundwork for its emergence as an advanced high value-added industry.

The Effect of Entrepreneurship Education on the Career Path of University Students (창업교육이 대학생의 진로에 미치는 효과성 연구)

  • The mission of the university is to grow young people who will be responsible for the next generation nation to mature society. In particular, the role of universities in the 4th Industrial Revolution era is to foster creative talents. Therefore, innovative changes are required for existing infusion education and employment-oriented college education contents and teaching methodology. In the high youth unemployment rate, entrepreneurship education is spreading to universities to innovate existing organizations and create new jobs. Until now, however, the effects of university entrepreneurship education have been studied mainly in the field of start-up. Therefore, it is very difficult to study various effects on entrepreneurship education. In this study, empirical analysis of the effect of entrepreneurship training on career preparation behaviors of university students who are about to enter the society is verified. The sample of this study was surveyed from August, 2016, and the questionnaire was applied to 393 university students who selected 5 universities and entrepreneurship education. As a result of the analysis, the ability of communicative communication and creative problem solving cultivated through entrepreneurship education had a positive effect on entrepreneurship and self - efficacy, Entrepreneurship and self - efficacy had a positive (+) positive effect on career preparation behavior. However, cooperative communication ability, creative problem solving ability, and effective work behavior ability by entrepreneurship education were not directly related to career preparation behavior. On the other hand, in verifying the mediating effect of entrepreneurship and self - efficacy, it proved that mediating role of positive communication between collaborative communication ability, creative problem solving ability and career preparation behavior. The implications of this study are as follows This study examines the effects of university entrepreneurship education on career preparedness behaviors.In other words, the university proved the direct effect and the mediating effect that affects positively (+) effect on career preparation behaviors by encouraging entrepreneurship and self - efficacy, rather than quantitative extension based on competency. Also, the implication of the parameters (entrepreneurship, self - efficacy) as a key variable for the effect and performance of career preparation behavior was derived.It also suggests that it is necessary to improve the creativity ability of entrepreneurship education so that it can have a direct and meaningful influence on career preparation behavior. First of all, it is urgent to develop a qualitative evaluation index for entrepreneurship education in order to measure these effects. Therefore, further study is required to verify the various implications for future entrepreneurship education, as well as the implications that entrepreneurship education is indispensable for the preparation of university students' careers.

A Study to Suggest Korean Fashion Design Education Model for a Creative Fashion Design -Focus on Comparative Case Studies in the USA, Europe, and Korea- (창조적 패션디자인을 위한 한국의 패션디자인 교육모델 제안에 관한 연구 -미국, 유럽, 한국의 사례 비교를 중심으로-)

  • This study suggests a Korean fashion design education model through a comparison of the fashion design curriculum and education systems in the USA, Europe, and Korea. For this, a case study of fashion design curriculum and education systems in the USA was performed with literature reviews about education methodology and design process to develop creativity, following the prior study, A Comparative Study on Fashion Design in Europe and Korea. For the case study, 12 superior fashion design education institutions in the USA were chosen from fashionista (N.Y.) and the goals, the emphases, the constitution of the online curriculum of each undergraduate fashion design course were examined. As a result of this study, Korean fashion design education model (1+2.5+0.5 model), was proposed by integrating the education systems of the USA and Europe, as follow: First, Korean fashion design education institutions need to be characterized and the departments/majors should be gradually specialized by the major. Second, foundation courses prior to undergraduate courses or during the 1st year should be established to result in a multi- disciplinary basic education. Third, a project based major needs to be performed that connects fashion design subjects with their related subjects for 2 and a half years as of the $2^{nd}$ year. These projects can be progressed by problem-solving design process of problem-identification and brainstorming-research, analysis-design concept-design ideation, selection-design development, implementation-critical evaluation and solutions. Fourth, collaborative projects or integrated courses with related Liberal Arts or other art and design majors should lead to muliti-discilplinary education. Fifth, the chance of increased active industry-academy collaboration and actual employment or enterprise can be facilitated by the establishment of only the courses related to domestic or international internships during the $2^{nd}$ semester of the $4^{th}$ year.

  • The development of Technopolis and the establishment of innovative ecosystem have made an important contribution in South Korea's latest industrial development and economic growth. Particularly, Daedeok INNOPOLIS which is responsible for the central role in the national science technology advancement was founded as the Science Town in the 1970s. Since then, it has undergone three-phases of development: Science Park, Technopolis and Innovation cluster. As the result of the transition, Daedeok INNOPOLIS currently serve as the leading role for achieving sustainable economic growth, employment promotion, national and regional innovation. In order to accelerate the progress for success, Daedeok INNOPOLIS have arranged an opportunity for 21st century new industry development, improved growth of technology-intensive SMEs, reinforced academic-industrial cooperation, and established innovative ecosystem. Daedeok INNOPOLIS is considered as an outstanding case of endogenous development strategy of Technopolis. This study attempts to consider the endogenous development strategy of Technopolis in Korea through the analysis of development characteristics of Daedeok INNOPOLIS in two different perspectives: changes of spatial structure and establishment of innovation ecosystem. Daedeok INNOPOLIS have experienced a series of endogenous growth that is consisted of advancement strategy and structural changes, which allowed Daedeok research town to grow into an innovative cluster. A sign of growth of Daedeok INNOPOLIS became apparent when its strategy to reinforce the academic-industry cooperation system by promoting participation from universities helped to overcome a functional limitation as a research institute integrated for the establishment of innovative ecosystem. Since then, the center for creative economy and innovation established in cooperation with large enterprise, has a role to build a startup ecosystem and to promote next level of development such as proactive fostering of venture companies for sustainable technopolis development.

  • With the renewed definition of "office". it's function and role has been reduced. Therefore. home oofices are beginning to draw people's attention. Office within the home is called SOHO (Small Office Home Office). SOHO has become possible with the development of information and telecommunication network technology. Recently. companies are adopting the SOHO system along with the trends of business restructuring. The SOHO offers workers to enjoy more flexible work time and enhance concentration thus improving jop efficiency. Companies will be able to cut down on fixed expenses and increase productivity. In addition. such working conditions will contribute to relieve traffic and environmental problems and furthermore it will make it possible to take advantage of potential workforce of women. the elderly and the handicapped. "Home Office" is expected to be one of the prevailing work system in the near future. Therefore. it is all the more important to study design problems including space design and furniture arrangement in order to improve work efficiency and provide a creative working environment.   • Design sector, one of the key factors defining national competitiveness and one of the creative industry, needs multi-functional and differentiated designers as its structure has changed to knowledge-intensive industry. Design sector is now following the trend of social change through frequent exchanges and joint researches with other sectors. However, education for human resource nurturing in the sector falls far short of social demand for change. As the industry still focuses on educating modeling issue handlers, the problems of excessive supply of human resources in particular sector and imbalance of supply and demand of human resources are adding extra difficulties to the already competitive designer employment market. Against this backdrop, this study recognized that design service sector, which began to be established as a new industry sector, has potential of becoming one of the new domains of movement for designers, explained the necessity of education in the field, and specified practical contents of design work. Also, It analyzed work contents of design service sector, classified them into each stage, and presented them to use in design professional nurturing education.
