The purpose of this study was to develop a math test for identification of the mathematically gifted on the basis of their math creative problem solving ability and to evaluate the goodness of the test. Especially, testing reliability and validity of scoring method on the basis of fluency only for evaluation of math creative problem solving ability was one of the main purposes. Ten closed math problems and 5 open math problems were developed requiring math thinking abilities such as intuitive insight, organization of information, inductive and deductive reasoning, generalization and application, and reflective thinking. The 10 closed math test items of Type I and the 5 open math test items of Type II were administered to 1,032 Grade 7 students who were recommended by their teachers as candidates for gifted education programs. Students' responses were scored by math teachers. Their responses were analyzed by BIGSTEPS and 1 parameter model of item analyses technique. The item analyses revealed that the problems were good in reliability, validity, item difficulty and item discriminating power even when creativity was scored based on the single criteria of fluency. This also confirmed that the open problems which are less-defined, less-structured and non-entrenched were good in measuring math creative problem solving ability of the candidates for math gifted education programs. In addition, it was found that the math creative problem solving tests discriminated applicants for the two different gifted educational institutions.
An 'Introduction to Creative Engineering Design' course at College of Engineering at Chungnam National University is required for all freshmen. The objective of this course is to educate the freshmen with basic engineering design concepts and experiences in creative problem-solving approaches. It provides the students learning opportunities in solving engineering design problems through team efforts and creative approaches. Thus, this course emphasizes creative ideas and thinking, engineering design experiences to students over the course. This study presents the syllabus, the examples of PBL (problem based learning)-related activities as a team, and the results of the course evaluation and outcomes. Based on the results of this study, we can conclude that overall this course using PBL method had significant positive effects on the course outcomes and the creativity of the engineering freshmen in the department of environmental engineering at Chungnam National University. However, there are still efforts to be needed to improve the PBL-related activities in the course, including students' workload, financial supports, and team work.

The purpose of this study is to verify the effect by developing and applying a new program for improvement of creative problem solving ability and collaborative ability. Development of a sewing practice program was performed through the ADDIE model. The subjects of the study were 1st grade middle school students and the research plan of the study was pretest-posttest control group design. The study method was performed by mixing the quantitative and qualitative analysis methods. Results of this study are as follows. First, the students in the experimental group showed higher creative problem solving ability than the students in the control group, but the difference was not significant at the 5% significance level. Qualitative analysis results indicated that creative problem solving ability is closely related to learning experiences involving the 'generation of diverse ideas', 'rebirth of creative ideas', 'self-directed learning plan', 'active problem solving', 'immediate feedback'. Second, the students in the experimental group showed a significantly higher level of collaborative ability than the students in the control group. This demonstrated that the program developed in this study had an effect on fostering the collaborative ability of middle school students. It was found that collaborative ability is closely related to learning experiences involving 'forming a positive atmosphere', 'continuous interaction', and 'working together'.

The purpose of this research is to develop a creative education program that utilizes AI education program based on big data for general education high schools, and to investigate its effectiveness. In order to achieve the purpose of the research, we developed a creative education program using artificial intelligence based on big data for first-year general high school students, and carried out on-site classes at schools and a validation process by experts. In order to measure the creative problem-solving ability and class satisfaction of high school students, a creative problem-solving ability test was conducted before and after the program application, and a class satisfaction test was conducted after the program. The results of this study are as follows. First, AI education program based on big data were statistically effective to improve the creative problem solving ability according to independent sample t test about 'problem discovery and analysis', 'idea generation', 'execution plan', 'conviction and communication', and 'innovation tendency' except 'execution', 'the difference between pre- and post-scores of male student and female student' on first year high school students. Secondly, in satisfaction conducted after classes of AI education program based on big data, the average of 'Satisfaction', 'Interest', 'Participation', 'Persistence' were 3.56 to 3.92, and the overall average was 3.78. Therefore, it was investigated that there was a lesson effect of the AI education program based on big data developed in this research.

The article is devoted to substantiation of theoretical and methodical bases of formation of the organizational-economic mechanism of maintenance of stability of development of region on the bases of influence of potential-forming space in the conditions of formation of creative economy. It was found that the organizational-economic mechanism due to its multifaceted nature does not have a single generally accepted definition, and its acceptable scale and complexity is reflected in the structure, which is very dependent on the scope and conditions of its application, can be very different and contain different elements. In view of this, in order to highlight the characteristics that are inherent in the organizational-economic mechanism of sustainable development of the region on the basis of potential-forming space in the formation of creative economy, the article examines the properties and characteristics of direct organizational and economic mechanism. The necessity of basing the process of formation of any organizational-economic mechanism, including the organizational-economic mechanism of ensuring the sustainability of the region on the basis of the potential-forming space in the conditions of creative economy on the system of principles. In this context, the author's vision is proposed and a set of principles for the formation of organizational-economic mechanism for sustainable development of the region on the basis of the potential of the potential-forming space in the creative economy, as well as revealed the essence of each. According to the structural aspect, the organizational-economic mechanism of ensuring the sustainability of the region's development on the basis of the potential-forming space is proposed to be presented as a set of seven stages, which are implemented in a certain sequence. Within the limits of this research the sequence of realization of the stages making process of formation of the organizational-economic mechanism of maintenance of stability of development of region on the basis of influence of potential-forming space in the conditions of formation of creative economy is defined and their maintenance and essence is presented.
As the globalization has increasingly brought in the disintrgration of boundary between cultures, the hybrid of styles, or fusion styles in various cultural spheres have been introduced as important theme. With this new trend, the traditional culture of Asia appeared as the source of inspiration for the West, and as the source of enhanced pride and asset for ethnic groups which have been considered "the Other" by the West. 1990's witnessed a drastically increased interest in Orientalism and Ethnic trends in most social aspects, especially in culture and art. They have been the main theme in fashion, providing the source of inspiration with elements such as the unique color schemes, composition methods and geometrical simplicity. The creative application of traditional culture into modern design as well as fashion can make a significant contribution and be a solid foundation for the development of national culture in general, since images containing cultural authenticity are the visual representation of the nation and they can be important tools for the globalization of design. This study aims to find out the formative characteristics of Korean traditional embroidery and the ways they are applied in modern fashion by world-renowned Korean fashion designers. The purpose of this study is to make a fundamental source for further study by the same author on creative design development utilizing the result. The study methods are literature study combined with research of genuine articles from museums and personal ownership as well as photos from magazines and internet. The significance of this study lies in enhancing the appreciation of Korean traditional culture and expanding the possibility of its globalization by modern application.
Atherosclerosis arising from the pro-inflammatory conditions associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD) increases major cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Rapamycin (RAPA) is known to inhibit atherosclerosis under CKD and non-CKD conditions, but it can cause dyslipidemia; thus, the co-application of lipid-lowering agents is recommended. Atorvastatin (ATV) has been widely used to reduce serum lipids levels, but its synergistic effect with RAPA in CKD remains unclear. Here, we analyzed the effect of their combined treatment on atherosclerosis stimulated by CKD in apolipoprotein E-deficient (ApoE-/-) mice. Oil Red O staining revealed that treatment with RAPA and RAPA+ ATV, but not ATV alone, significantly decreased the atherosclerotic lesions in the aorta and aortic sinus, compared to those seen in the control (CKD) group. The co-administration of RAPA and ATV improved the serum lipid profile and raised the expression levels of proteins involved in reverse cholesterol transport (LXRα, CYP7A1, ABCG1, PPARγ, ApoA1) in the liver. The CKD group showed increased levels of various genes encoding atherosclerosispromoting cytokines in the spleen (Tnf-α, Il-6 and Il-1β) and aorta (Tnf-α and Il-4), and these increases were attenuated by RAPA treatment. ATV and RAPA+ATV decreased the levels of Tnf-α and Il-1β in the spleen, but not in the aorta. Together, these results indicate that, in CKD-induced ApoE-/- mice, RAPA significantly reduces the development of atherosclerosis by regulating the expression of inflammatory cytokines and the co-application of ATV improves lipid metabolism.

In the 21st century, university education is changing from an objective knowledge and information to critical thinking and problem-solving ability. Moreover, university education should change rapidly towards a learner-centered educational environment because it has an educational goal to have college students experience authentic tasks they will be in charge of after graduation, and improves self-directed learning ability and cooperative learning ability. PBL is a pedagogical strategy for posing significant, contextualized, real world situations, and providing resources, guidance, and instruction to learners as they develop content knowledge and problem-solving skills. In problem based learning, the students collaborate to study the issues of a problem as they strive to create viable solution. For these advantages of PBL, the application of PBL in school has been enlarged. On the other hand, the application of PBL in engineering education has not been enlarged. To improve these instruction methods, the development or applications of new instructional methods will be needed. This study examined the PBL instructional design of a creative engineering design subject, which aims to foster talent. The PBL model developed in this study consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. A plan of creative engineering design subject was developed based on PBL, and focused on the process of PBL. To determine the effects of this model, studies applying this instructional design to many lecturers should be implemented.
The purpose of this study is inquire the reaction and adaptability of the mathematically gifted student, in the case of introduce learning materials based on GeoGebra in real class. The study program using GeoGebra consist of 'construction of fundamental figures', 'making animation with using slider tools' (graph of a function, trace of a figure, definite integral, fixed point, and draw a parametric curve), make up the group report after class. In detail, 1st to 15th classes are mainly problem-solving, and topic-exploring classes. To analyze the application effects of developed learning materials, divide students in four groups and lead them to make out their own creative products. In detail, guide students to make out their own report about mathematical themes that based on given learning materials. Concretely, build up the program to make up group report about their own topics in six weeks, after learning on various topics. Expert panel concluded that developed learning materials are successfully stimulate student's creativity in various way, after analyze of the student's activities. Moreover, those learning programs also contributed to the develop of the mathematical ability to thinking that necessary to writing a report. As well, four creative products are assessed as connote mathematically gifted student's creative thinking and meaningful elements in mathematical aspects.
In the knowledge based economy, it's important to know the place where the proper knowledge locates as well as to produce the creative knowledge. This paper intends to clear up the linkage structure between research fields and its application areas. 2,135 proposals submitted to Korea Science and Engineering Foundation were analyzed to investigate the relationship between research fields and application areas. The results are as follows; first, 51.8% of the basic research is devoted to the advancement of knowledge, second, 40.8% of that is applicable to the industry, third, 5.8% and 1.2% of that contributes to environment and social welfare.
