  • Electrochemical adsorption always was accompanied with solvent displacement and relative size factor(x) of adsorbate and solvent and hydrogen coverage(${\theta}$) on the lead anodic film electrode formed in phosphoric acid in NaCl solution and the sea water at $15{\sim}35^{\circ}C$ were studied by means of constant current-potential method and potentiodynamic cathodic polarization method. In this experiment, various constants and thermodynamic quantities calculated from the hydrogen coverage were also described to explain the reactivities of di-iso-butylnitrosoamine(DBNA) and proton ($H^+$) according to the changes of interactions between solute and solvent in the bulk phase and interphase. It was investigated that the average values of relative size factor and the coverage of hydrogen atoms studied with the electrode of lead anodic film formed in phosphoric acid solution in 60mM DBNA+0.5M NaCl and in 60mM DBNA+$6\%0$ sea water were about 11.0 and 0.2 respectively. Hydrogen evolution was electrochemical mechanism because of substitutional adsorption of aromatic substance with their delocalization of electrons, but in the case of non-charge transfer adsorption of aliphatic substance(DBNA) interacting relatively little with the electrode, it was combination mechanism.

  • In this paper, when the variance of the normal distribution is related to the mean, we develop noninformative priors such as matching priors and reference priors. We prove that the second order matching prior matches alternative coverage probabilities up to the same order and also it is a HPD matching prior. It turns out that one-at-a-time reference prior satisfies a second order matching criterion. Then using these noninformative priors, we develop a Bayesian test procedure for the equality of the means and variances of two independent normal distributions using fractional Bayes factor. Some simulation study is performed, and a real data example is also provided.

  • Objective: Third-generation dual-source computed tomography (3rd-DSCT) allows dynamic myocardial CT perfusion imaging (dynamic CTP) with a 10.5-cm z-axis coverage. Although the increased radiation exposure associated with the 50% wider scan range compared to second-generation DSCT (2nd-DSCT) may be suppressed by using a tube voltage of 70 kV, it remains unclear whether image quality and the ability to quantify myocardial blood flow (MBF) can be maintained under these conditions. This study aimed to compare the image quality, estimated MBF, and radiation dose of dynamic CTP between 2ndDSCT and 3rd-DSCT and to evaluate whether a 10.5-cm coverage is suitable for dynamic CTP. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 107 patients who underwent dynamic CTP using 2nd-DSCT at 80 kV (n = 54) or 3rd-DSCT at 70 kV (n = 53). Image quality, estimated MBF, radiation dose, and coverage of left ventricular (LV) myocardium were compared. Results: No significant differences were observed between 3rd-DSCT and 2nd-DSCT in contrast-to-noise ratio (37.4 ± 11.4 vs. 35.5 ± 11.2, p = 0.396). Effective radiation dose was lower with 3rd-DSCT (3.97 ± 0.92 mSv with a conversion factor of 0.017 mSv/mGy∙cm) compared to 2nd-DSCT (5.49 ± 1.36 mSv, p < 0.001). Incomplete coverage was more frequent with 2nd-DSCT than with 3rd-DSCT (1.9% [1/53] vs. 56% [30/54], p < 0.001). In propensity score-matched cohorts, MBF was comparable between 3rd-DSCT and 2nd-DSCT in non-ischemic (146.2 ± 26.5 vs. 157.5 ± 34.9 mL/min/100 g, p = 0.137) as well as ischemic myocardium (92.7 ± 21.1 vs. 90.9 ± 29.7 mL/min/100 g, p = 0.876). Conclusion: The radiation increase inherent to the widened z-axis coverage in 3rd-DSCT can be balanced by using a tube voltage of 70 kV without compromising image quality or MBF quantification. In dynamic CTP, a z-axis coverage of 10.5 cm is sufficient to achieve complete coverage of the LV myocardium in most patients.

  • CO adsorbates on the surface of Pt supported on carbon catalysts (Pt/C) were investigated by CO stripping voltammetry. Three types of CO adsorbed samples were prepared: by methanol dehydrogenation only (COm), by CO gas bubbling only (COg), and by methanol dehydrogenation followed by CO gas bubbling (COm+g). Our coverage data show that CO gas can be adsorbed on Pt/C catalyst already saturated with CO adsorbates by methanol dehydrogenation. The COm+g sample showed the properties of both COm as well as COg samples in terms of the potential although the CO adsorbed by dehydrogenation was completely exchanged with CO in the electrolyte solution. Therefore, the oxidation pathways of CO on Pt/C were observed to depend on the initial adsorption conditions of CO more strongly than on the CO coverage. Our results imply that an initial CO poisoning condition in fuel cell operation is an important factor to determine the difficulty in removing the adsorbed CO and confirm that the properties of the adsorbed CO do not change even with chemical replacement with CO in different conditions. In addition, our results indicate a low CO surface mobility on the Pt in an electrolyte solution.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the characteristics of emitter geolocation coverage area within which the emitter lies with a specified probability based on the LOBs(Line of Bearing) of sensors. Stansfield and MSD algorithms were applied to calculate BPE(Best Point Estimate), EEP(Elliptical Error Probable) and CEP(Circular Error Probable), They used the weighting factors composed of ${\sigma}_{Phi}$ (bearing error), QF(quality factor), $P_{e}$ (probability being inside) to optimize the performance. The characteristics of EEP was investigated in the change of them and those of CEP was analyzed based on the deployment of sensors.

  • In this study, two kinds of soil-based proficiency testing materials (PTMs), NICE-012L and NICE-012R were prepared and certified for Benzen, Toluene, Etylbenzene and Xylene with evaluation of uncertainties. In order to analyse BTEX (Benzen Toluene Etylbenzene Xylene) for the candidate materials, GC/MS was used after pretreatment according to methods of soil analysis by Ministry of Environment. For the homogeneity test among bottles in terms of candidate materials, ISO 13528 and IUPAC Protocol were used and according to the result, both candidate materials showed sufficient homogeneity. Also, the stability test over the candidate materials was accessed according to the ISO Guide 35 by classifying short-term and long-term stability and the result showed that both candidate materials showed decent stability. The reference values of the two candidate materials depending on BTEX components were derived from the average of the 11 samples that were used for verification of the samples' homogeneity. Uncertainty of measurement was combined by uchar that was caused by a characteristic value, $u_{bb}$ that was caused by between-bottle homogeneity, and $u_{stab}$ that was caused by stability, and then combined uncertainty ($u_{PTM}$) was multiplied to the coverage factor (k) derived from the effective degree of freedom from each factor that leads to expanded uncertainty (U) in about 95% of confidence level. The proficiency testing materials developed through this study were supplied to National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) and utilized as an external proficiency testing materials for evaluating analysis capacity of soil agencies with specialty in terms of soil analysis approved by Minister of Environment.

  • In this study, we performed urrban climate simulation how both the factor of environmental land and artificial factors influence on the formation of urban temperature. With deducing quantitative data, this study could get more accurate results of the urban temperature using urban climate simulation system. In the case of natural land cover, it appeared that there are effects on the lowering temperature and the lower temperature rate appeared in the water land cover on the whole. This is considered as temperature in water land was low because of the characteristics of water land having evaporation latent heat was high and convective sensible heat was low. In case of building which has building coverage ratio, 5% with 10 floors and building coverage ratio, 15 % with 6 floors, it appears that the temperature in the water land is $33.6^{\circ}C$. In case of building coverage ratio 5%, temperature dropped when buildings has more than 4 stories. This is regarded as the size of building is bigger, the temperature dropped in relatively because of the fluctuation of the rate of solar heat from the land. At the present time, the urban temperature are higher because of various artificial factors in the city. With these results, this study supposed to be a basies of the future studies for considering both the composition of building coverate ratio and floor plan.

  • This study was accomplished by analyzing the change of land cover pattern in high-rise buildings in Korea. For this study, we selected 15 locations of high-rise buildings. The ratio of average building coverage and paved area was 79.7%, and both green and water area were low, relatively. The biotope area factor of the site showed low percentage by 15.90% due to the underground space development. As a result of correlation analysis between the time of construction and land-cover type, building coverage has been decreased according to the stream of time. However, biotope area factor has been increased And, the paved area has m correlation. It was identified that reducing paved area is effective to enhance the ecological functions of a high-rise building outdoor.
