  • This paper proposes a new coverage algorithm for intelligent robot. Many algorithms for improving the performance of coverage have been focused on minimizing the total coverage completion time. However, if one does not have enough time to finish the whole coverage, the optimal path could be different. To tackle this problem, we propose a new coverage algorithm, which we call MaxCoverage algorithm, for covering maximal area within the deadline. The MaxCoverage algorithm decides the navigation flow by greedy algorithm for Set Covering Problem. The experimental results show that the MaxCoverage algorithm performs better than other algorithms for random deadlines.

  • An autonomous robot must have a global workspace map in order to cover the complete workspace. However, most previous coverage algorithms assume that they have a grid workspace map that is to be covered before running the task. For this reason, most coverage algorithms can not be applied to complete coverage tasks in unknown environments. An autonomous robot has to build a workspace map by itself for complete coverage in unknown environments. Thus, we propose a new DmaxCoverage algorithm that allows a robot to carry out a complete coverage task in unknown environments. This algorithm integrates a SLAM algorithm for simultaneous workspace map building. Experimentally, we verify that DmaxCoverage algorithm is more efficient than previous algorithms.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to develop an optimal combine scheduling program using Max-Coverage algorithm which derives the maximum efficiency for a specific location in harvest seasons. Methods: The combine scheduling program was operated with information about combine specification and farmland. Four operating types (Max-Coverage algorithm type, Boustrophedon path type, max quality value type, and max area type) were selected to compare quality and working capacity. Result: The working time of Max-Coverage algorithm type was shorter than others, and the total quality value of Max-Coverage algorithm and max quality value type were higher than others. Conclusion: The developed combine scheduling program using Max-Coverage algorithm will provide optimal operation and maximum quality in a limited area and time.

  • Mobile Ad hoc Networks(MANET) is consist of node that has mobility, MANET build cluster formation for using energy efficient. In existing LEACH algorithm elect cluster head node in coverage area by distribution function. However, when the cluster head node, that elected by distribution function, is divided coverage area unevenly, the network can't consumption energy efficiency. To solve this problem, we proposed CSWC(Coverage Scheduling Weight-value Control) algorithm. When the coverage area is divided nonchalance, proposed algorithm increased number of hops, that determines coverage area, for balance coverage area. As the result proposed algorithm is set balance coverage area, the network consumption energy efficiency.

  • Coverage problem is a research hot spot in directional sensor networks (DSNs). However, the major problem affecting the performance of the current coverage-enhancing strategies is that they just optimize the coverage of networks, but ignore the maximum number of sleep sensors to save more energy. Aiming to find an approximate optimal method that can cover maximum area with minimum number of active sensors, in this paper, a new scheduling algorithm based on learning automata is proposed to enhance area coverage, and shut off redundant sensors as many as possible. To evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm, several experiments are conducted. Simulation results indicate that the proposed algorithm have effective performance in terms of coverage enhancement and sleeping sensors compared to the existing algorithms.

  • In the process of k-coverage of the target node, there will be a lot of data redundancy forcing the phenomenon of congestion which reduces network communication capability and coverage, and accelerates network energy consumption. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel energy balanced k-coverage control algorithm based on probability model (EBKCCA). The algorithm constructs the coverage network model by using the positional relationship between the nodes. By analyzing the network model, the coverage expected value of nodes and the minimum number of nodes in the monitoring area are given. In terms of energy consumption, this paper gives the proportion of energy conversion functions between working nodes and neighboring nodes. By using the function proportional to schedule low energy nodes, we achieve the energy balance of the whole network and optimizing network resources. The last simulation experiments indicate that this algorithm can not only improve the quality of network coverage, but also completely inhibit the rapid energy consumption of node, and extend the network lifetime.

  • Test pattern generation is one of most difficult problems encountered in automating the design of logic circuits. The goal is to obtain the highest fault coverage with the minimum number of test patterns for a given circuit and fault set. although there have been many deterministic algorithms and heuristics the problem is still highly complex and time-consuming. Therefore new approach-es are needed to augment the existing techniques. This paper considers the problem of test pattern improvement for combinational circuits as a restricted subproblem of the test pattern generation. The problem is to maximize the fault coverage with a fixed number of test patterns for a given cir-cuit and fault set. We propose a new approach by use of a genetic algorithm. In this approach the genetic algorithm evolves test patterns to improve their fault coverage. A fault simulation is used to compute the fault coverage of the test patterns Experimental results show that the genetic algorithm based approach can achieve higher fault coverages than traditional techniques for most combinational circuits. Another advantage of the approach is that the genetic algorithm needs no detailed knowledge of faulty circuits under test.

  • Completer coverage path planning requires the robot path to cover every part of the workspace, which is an essential issue in cleaning robots and many other robotic applications such as vacuum robots and painter robots. In this paper, a novel Water Flowing Algorithm (WFA) is proposed for cleaning robots to complete coverage path planning in unknown environment without obstacles. The robot covers the whole workspace just like that water fills up a container. First the robot goes to the lowest point in the workspace just like water flows to the bottom of the container. At last the robot will come to highest point in the workspace just like water overflows from the container and simultaneously the robot has covered the whole workspace. The computer simulation results show that the proposed algorithm enable the robot to plan complete coverage paths.

  • This paper proposes a novel Random Scheduling Algorithm based on Subregion Coverage (RSASC), to solve the SET K-cover problem (an NP-complete problem). SET K-cover problem distributes the set of sensors into the maximum number of mutually exclusive subsets (MESSs) in such a way that each of them can be scheduled for lifetime extension of WSN. Sensor coverage divides the target region into different subregions. RSASC first sorts the subregions in the ascending order concerning their sensor coverage. Then, it forms the subregion groups according to their similar sensor coverage. Lastly, RSASC ensures the K-coverage of each subregion from every group by randomly scheduling the sensors. We consider the target-coverage and area-coverage applications of WSN to analyze the usefulness of our proposed RSASC algorithm. The distinct quality of RSASC is that it utilizes less number of deployed sensors (33% less) to form the optimum number of MESSs with the higher computational speed (saves more than 93% of the time) as compared to the existing three algorithms.

  • This paper discusses how to effectively guarantee the coverage and connectivity quality of wireless sensor networks when joint perception model is used for the nodes whose communication ranges are multi-level adjustable in the absence of position information. A Connect Coverage Algorithm Based on Joint Sensing model (CCAJS) is proposed, with which least working nodes are chosen based on probability model ensuring the coverage quality of the network. The algorithm can balance the position distribution of selected working nodes as far as possible, as well as reduce the overall energy consumption of the whole network. The simulation results show that, less working nodes are needed to ensure the coverage quality of networks using joint perception model than using the binary perception model. CCAJS can not only satisfy expected coverage quality and connectivity, but also decrease the energy consumption, thereby prolonging the network lifetime.
