  • Extraction of a salient chromagram is utmost important for cover song identification. Cover song refers to a live performance, a remix, or a new recording of a previously recorded track. This paper utilizes the Savitzky-Golay filters in chromagram extraction for suppressing timber-related components of a music signal, which is not preserved while generating cover songs. By removing the timber-related components, the discriminative tonal components, which are conducive for cover song identification, are emphasized in chromagram. Experiments on cover song identification over two datasets show that the Savitzky-Golay filters are more effective in reducing timber effects in chromagram than other types of filters.

  • This research paper describes design procedures and those verification with multi-body dynamic analysis and an experiment for the development of an unprecedented type of canister cover, named as the separating cover. In order to overcome drawbacks from the precious rupture type and actuator driven cover, the separating cover was suggested. It has the simplest structure composed of the previously developed explosive bolt and a spring-lever driven system. First of all, mechanical feasibility with proposed design parameters based on mathematical modeling was confirmed through dynamic analysis and then its results showed good agreement with the followed empirical results acquired from a high speed camera. On top of that, a parametric study was conducted to identify the effect of each design parameter on separating performance. It is highly expected that this research contributes to provide military industries with a brand new canister cover having simplicity and cost efficiency and thus it will be very useful in MLRS(Multiple Launch Rocket System).

  • There are many risk factors of electrical shock caused by a minimum of protective devices, loose working environments, deterioration of installations at temporary power installations of construction sites. An insulation cover for instrument transformer(MOF) used in 22.9[kV] class power receiving system hasn't shown good performance in terms of electrical safety because of short clearance between insulation cover and each input and output wire junction part. The insulation cover is easily moved by outside environment as wind or rain because of different size between insulation cover and busing, also can be leaded to breakdown by tracking. Therefore, we have proposed the insulation cover which effectively can prevent from electrical disaster in this paper, and a utility model patent had been registered already. To decrease the electric field concentrated on specific part, we had roundly designed the shape of insulation cover and the clearance between cover and live part was adjusted to be longer than the existing thing. The proposed insulation cover was evaluated by using the electric field solution program.

  • The objective of this study is to quantitatively evaluate the effects of various SAR speckle reduction methods for multisource land-cover classification by backpropagation neural network, especially over the coastal region. The land-cover classification using neural network has an advantage over conventional statistical approaches in that it is distribution-free and no prior knowledge of the statistical distributions of the classes is needed. The goal of multisource land-cover classification acquired by different sensors is to reduce the classification error, and consequently SAR can be utilized an complementary tool to optical sensors. SAR speckle is, however, an serious limiting factor when it is exploited for land-cover classification. In order to reduce this problem. we test various speckle methods including Frost, Median, Kuan and EPOS. Interpreting the weights about training pixel samples, the “Importance Value” of each SAR images that reduced speckle can be estimated based on its contribution to the classification. In this study, the “Importance Value” is used as a criterion of the effectiveness.

  • Pseudo-Near Field Recording (Pseudo-NFR) system is proposed to prevent contamination and oxidation of media surface occurred in conventional NFR systems. To solve these critical problems of the NFR systems, we investigate the optimal thickness of cover layer for Pseudo NFR. This paper presents the theoretical analysis for cover layer thickness based on the measured length of dust particle and numerical simulation for the temperature distribution using Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method and heat conduction equation. To verify the simulation results, we conduct and compare simulation results in case of far field MO recording and near field MO recording. A measured dust particle length in general environment was mostly less than $20{\mu}m$, and the optimal thickness of cover layer is $30{\mu}m$ in this case. Based on the designed optimal cover layer thickness, temperature distribution is simulated to have $800{\~}850^{\circ}C$.

  • A multi-rotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) system is developed to solve the manhole cover detection problem for the infrastructure maintenance in the suburbs of big city. The visible light sensor is employed to collect the ground image data and a series of image processing and machine learning methods are used to detect the manhole cover. First, the image enhancement technique is employed to improve the imaging effect of visible light camera. An imaging environment perception method is used to increase the computation robustness: the blind Image Quality Evaluation Metrics (IQEMs) are used to percept the imaging environment and select the images which have a high imaging definition for the following computation. Because of its excellent processing effect the adaptive Multiple Scale Retinex (MSR) is used to enhance the imaging quality. Second, the Single Shot multi-box Detector (SSD) method is utilized to identify the manhole cover for its stable processing effect. Third, the spatial coordinate of manhole cover is also estimated from the ground image. The practical applications have verified the outdoor environment adaptability of proposed algorithm and the target detection correctness of proposed system. The detection accuracy can reach 99% and the positioning accuracy is about 0.7 meters.

  • Recently, tthe general users' demand on utilizing spatial information and the establishment of national spatial data such as land cover map are increasingly growing. But the lack of spatial information service for the general public is making it difficult for them to use spatial information and services. In this study, spatial information service strategies based on the concept of atlas, which is familiar to us through the student atlas, were proposed to promote the public users' utilization of land cover map. For this purpose, I reviewed current domestic status and overseas cases of land cover map service and proposed the future direction of spatial information service for land cover map in terms of contents, users, and system. Finally, I defined the basic concept, characteristics and functions of the Atlas Information System and recommended strategies for environmental spatial information service. The results of this study can be applied to various national spatial information as well as land cover map and contribute to the increase of general public users' utilization of national spatial data.

  • In support of remote sensing applications for monitoring processes of the Earth system, research was conducted to analyze the basic spectral response related to background soil and vegetation cover characteristics in the visible and reflective infrared wavelengths. Surface samples of seven stations were examined. Five soils were from land-field and two soils from tideland areas. The vegetation cover experiment was conducted on seven soil samples with known natural moisture content (%) by weight. To study the effect of vegetation cover, spectral measurements were taken on five or six vegetation cover treatments of the seven soils with 3 replications in air dry conditions. For collecting RS base data, used spectro-radiometer that measures reflection characteristics between 300~1,100nm was used and measured the reflection of vegetation from bean leaves. The relationships were evaluated for both a general soil line and for the individual lines of five soils, under air-dried condition as well as different vegetation cover ratio, through the determination of the line parameters. As vegetation cover ratio in bean leaves increases, features of soil reflectance decrease and those of plant reflectance become more and more apparent. In proportion to vegetation cover rate, near-infrared reflectance increased and visible reflectance decreased. Analysis results are compared to commonly used vegetation indices(RVI and NDVI ).
