  • In single-phase magnetically coupled resonant (MCR) wireless power transfer (WPT) systems, the transfer characteristics, including the output power and transfer efficiency, are significantly influenced by the spatial scales of its coils. As a potential alternative, a three-phase MCR WPT system with cylinder-shaped coils that are excited in a voltage-fed manner has been proposed to satisfy the requirements of compact space. This system adopts a phase-shifted angle control scheme to generate a rotating magnetic field and to realize omnidirectional WPT that is immune to spatial scales. The magnetic field model and equivalent circuit models are built to holistically analyze the system characteristics under different angular misalignments. Research results show that the transfer characteristics can be improved by modulating the phase-shifted angle in each phase. Experiments have also been carried out to evaluate the accuracy of the theoretical analysis and to confirm the validity of the system modeling method.

  • In optical disk drive(ODD), pickup actuator, which comprises a key part of an optical disk drive equipment. must be thin. compact, and high sensitive. Low tilt is also an important requirement for the actuator, since optical disks are to high density. This tilt occurs from around the axis parallel to the tangential and radial direction of the disk. The main reason of the moment is the coupling effect between focus driving system and tracking driving system. This paper analyzed tut quantity due to focusing and tracking force through coupled fields analysts with electromagnetic analysis and structural analysis.

  • Automotive inverters may require current sensors for motor torque control, especially, in applications of hybrid electric vehicles or fuel cell vehicles. In this paper, to achieve a compact, integrated and low cost current sensor, a hall current sensor without magnetic core is introduced for integrating an automotive inverter. The compactness of the current sensor is possible by using integrated magnetic concentrators based on the Hall effect. Magnetic fields caused by three-phase currents are analyzed and a magnetic shield design is proposed for decoupling the cross-coupled field. It offers galvanic isolation, wide bandwidth (>100kHz), and accuracy(< 1%). Using 2D FEM analysis, its performance is demonstrated with design parameters at a U-shaped magnetic shield. The proposed coreless current sensor is tested with rated current to validate the linearity and accuracy.

  • Coupled thermo-mechanical analysis of reinforced concrete slab at elevated temperatures from a fire accounting for nonlinear thermal parameters is carried out. The main focus of the paper is put on a one-way continuous reinforced concrete slab exposed to fire from the single (bottom) side as the most typical working condition under fire loading. Although contemporary techniques alongside the fire protection measures are in constant development, in most cases it is not possible to avoid the material deterioration particularly nearby the exposed surface from a fire. Thereby the structural fire resistance of reinforced concrete slabs is mostly influenced by a relative distance between reinforcement and the exposed surface. A parametric study with variable concrete cover ranging from 15 mm to 35 mm is performed. As the first part of a one-way coupled thermo-mechanical analysis, transient nonlinear heat transfer analysis is performed by applying the net heat flux on the exposed surface. The solution of proposed heat analysis is obtained at certain time steps of interest by α-method using the explicit Euler time-integration scheme. Spatial discretization is done by the finite element method using a 1D 2-noded truss element with the temperature nodal values as unknowns. The obtained results in terms of temperature field inside the element are compared with available numerical and experimental results. A high level of agreement can be observed, implying the proposed model capable of describing the temperature field during a fire. Accompanying thermal analysis, mechanical analysis is performed in two ways. Firstly, using the guidelines given in Eurocode 2 - Part 1-2 resulting in the fire resistance rating for the aforementioned concrete cover values. The second way is a fully numerical coupled analysis carried out in general-purpose finite element software DIANA FEA. Both approaches indicate structural fire behavior similar to those observed in large-scale fire tests.

  • At high frequencies, the statistical approach such as statistical energy analysis(SEA) and energy flow analysis(EFA) has been applied for estimation of vibroacoustic responses of various built-up structures. The energy coupling relationship between finite coupled structures is required to estimate vibrational energetics of built-up structures. Mindlin plate theory includes the rotatory inertia and shear deformation effects which are dominant as frequency increases. In this paper, the wave transmission analysis is successfully performed for EFA of co-planar coupled Mindlin plates.

  • According as optical storage becomes high-density, numerical aperture increases. Therefore, the shift characteristic of moving parts in an actuator for optical pickup becomes a critical design factor because of decrease in the tilt margin. The tilt angle is maximized when the position of moving parts is in a diagonal direction within a moving range. This is determined by design of structure and magnetic circuit of an actuator. Previous analysis method only predicts linear characteristics of moving parts. However, the result of shift characteristics of the moving parts considering structural and magnetic circuit's nonlinearity following the every position simultaneously shows us more realistic result. Therefore, we present analysis method considering nonlinearity of moving parts' position through FEM package using coupled-field analysis. Then, we will suggest hereafter a design guide by comparing the above results with experimental ones.

  • In this paper, a novel theory of realizing the series capacitor with broadside coupled suspended substrate stripline (BCSSS) is proposed. The proposed theory is relatively simple because the method of odd mode analysis is only applied: However, this theory supplies reliable result by considering the line effective width and end effect caused by the fringing field. The simulation results are presented to compare and analyze the characteristics of the ideal lumped capacitor and the coupled line capacitor. Also, the capacitive gap coupled line band-pass filter based on the proposed theory are designed and fabricated. The results prove successfully the validity of the proposed theory.

This paper presents a number of results that generalize and extend previous work in the field. In order to better illustrate the process, we provide examples.

  • In this study, direct code coupling, in which two codes share a single flow field, was conducted using 3-dimensional high resolution thermal hydraulics code, CUPID and 1-dimensional system analysis code, MARS. This approach provide the merit to use versatile capability of MARS for nuclear power plants and 3-dimensional T/H analysis capability of CUPID. Numerical Method to directly couple CUPID and MARS was described in this paper. The straight flow and manometer flow oscillation were calculated to verify conservation of coupled CUPID/MARS code in mass, momentum, and energy. This verification calculations indicates that the CUPID/MARS is coupled appropriately in numerical aspect and the coupled code can be applied to nuclear reactor thermal hydraulics after validation against integral transient experiments.

  • Noise is a problem in many electronic circuits and active control system. Arising from spuriously coupled noise from other circuits, it corrupts the signal of interest and introduces an uncertainty into information it contains. In this paper, re have researched noise characteristics of the inductive displacement sensor which has been designed. n first present basic concept and characteristics of magnetic field-coupled noise in the sensor output signal. Then, n are present relation noise and sensor performances. Finally, we concentrate low noise design of a sensor driver and a signal detection circuit.
