The purpose of this study was to examine the current situation of B2B fashion buying behavior (i.e., buying motives, product characteristics, buying processes), and to analyze the buying performance, buying problems and buying strategies. In depth, face-to-face interviews with structured questionnaire were conducted with three buyers and three vendors related to 18 buying items of C Company. Results of this research were as following:1. Buying motives were mainly reduction of buying costs, improvement of profits, and increased efficiency in buying process for retail buyers, while the selling motive was mainly improvement of market share for suppliers. Suitable items for B2B buying were basic items or bulk items. The B2B buying process included the following steps: selecting auction items, target prices, and suppliers ; setting the product specification and bidding niles; training the suppliers for preparing the auction; proceeding the auction by internet. 2. The perceived B2B benefits for buyers were profit improvement and cost reduction while those for suppliers were time saving and market share improvement. The indicated buying problems were as poor product quality, low product image, and difficulty in partnership. For B2B buying strategies, a quality management system, various auction tactics based on items, and a supplier management system were recommended.
A standard repetitive controller (RC) is theoretically able to replace a bank of resonant controllers in harmonic signals tracking applications. However, the traditional RC has some drawbacks such as a poor dynamic response and a complex structure to compensate grid frequency deviations for an effective unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) control scheme. In order to solve these problems, an improved RC with an outstanding dynamic response and a simplified grid frequency adaptive scheme is proposed for UPQC control systems in this paper. The control strategy developed for the UPQC has delay time, i.e., one-sixth of a fundamental period (Tp/6), repetitive controllers. As a result, the UPQC system can provide a fast dynamic response along with good compensation performance under both nonlinear and unbalanced loads. Furthermore, to guarantee the excellent performance of the UPQC under grid frequency deviations, a grid frequency adaptive scheme was developed for the RC using a simple first order Padé's approximation. When compared with other approaches, the proposed control method is simpler in structure and requires little computing time. Moreover, the entire control strategy can be easily implemented with a low-cost DSP. The effectiveness of the proposed control method is verified through various experimental tests.

Poor safety management in construction management may adversely affect cost, schedule and quality of a project. Heavy fines upon safety offence becomes a burden to the budget; losing working hours as a result of safety incident impacts on the schedule, and compromising quality is always an indirect consequence when workers perform duties in an unsafe site environment. Therefore, promotion of safety management becomes the top priority in any construction manager's agenda. Working safely will benefit construction project and lead to a "real" success. This paper is a case study, based upon "Geller's 10 principles for achieving a total safety culture", reviewing how a Hong Kong leading construction company fosters the safety culture and possesses a pleasant safety record over years. Its safety performance is not only well ahead the local industry, but also ranges top within the Asia Pacific region and comparable to those mature Western industries. The review concluded that safety culture is one of the major components in construction management and collaboration is the essence to realize this positive culture within an organization. Safety management is not merely a "top down" approach, but requires the positive "bottom up" actions from the other end. The successful story of this company can demonstrate the contribution of safety management in construction management.
Purpose: Single implants, of which screw loosening has been observed frequently, presents problems such as fixtures fractures, marginal bone loss, and inflammation of the soft tissue around the implant. However, the single implant is more conservative, cost effective, and predictable compared to the 3 unit bridge with respect to the long-term outcome. This study evaluated the survival rate as well as future methods aimed at increasing the survival rate in single implants in posterior teeth. Methods: Among the implants placed in the Dankook University Dental Hospital department of Oral & Maxillofacial surgery from January 2001 to June 2008, 599 implants placed in the maxillar and mandibular posterior were evaluated retrospectively. Survival rates were investigated according to implant location, cause of tooth loss, gender, age, general disease, fixture diameter and length, surface texture, implant type and shape, presence of bone graft, surgery stage, surgeons, bone quality and opposite teeth. Results: Out of 599 single implants in posterior teeth, 580 implants survived and the survival rate was 96.8%. The difference in survival rate was statistically significant according to the implant location. The survival rate was low (84.2%) in implants exhibiting a wide diameter (${\geq}5.1mm$) and the surface treated by the acid etching group demonstrated a significantly lower survival rate (91.1%). One stage surgical procedure, which implemented a relatively better bone quality survival rate (100%), was higher than the two stage surgical procedure (96.1%). The survival rate of type IV bone quality (75%) was significantly lower than the other bone quality. Conclusion: Single posterior teeth implant treatments should use an improved surface finishing fixture as well as careful and safe procedures when performing implant surgery in the maxilla premolar and molar regions since bone quality is poor.
This survey was conducted to investigate the status of repair and maintenance of 4 wheel tractor for a basic reference to the improvement of quality and proper utilization of tractors. Thirty two counties from eight provinces, except Jeju, were covered in this study in order to investigate annual break-down and repair of tractor in 1980. The analyzed results are summarized as follows; 1. The average number of break-down of large size tractors(47ps) was 5.0 times in a year and it was about twice of that of small size tractors(19-23ps). The break-down frequency per 100 hours of use was 1.11 times in the large size and 0.65 times in the small size tractors. 2. 75.6 percent of total break-down was occured in main body of tractor and 24.4 percent in attachments. In particular, the break-down of plow and rotavator was more than 80 percent of total break-down of the small size tractor attachments. 3. The large size tractors which were occured more than one times of break-down a year was 75 percent and its rate of the small size tractor was 62 percent. But 9 percent of tractor surveyed had more than ten times of break-down in a year 4. The frequency of break-down had a peak in May, and it was directly proportional to the hours of use. 5. The causes of break-down were poor maintenance and operation by 29.8 precent, old parts by 30.2 percent, poor quality of parts by 20.6 percent, poor field condition by 16.3 percent and others by 3.1 percent. 6. Annual number of repair was 5.5 times and among them 55.6 percent was done by shop and 44.4 percent by operator. 7. Total required repair time was 30.6 hours a year in the large size tractor and 19.9 hours in the small size tractor. Average repair time was 3.62 hours a time. 8. Annual repair cost was 278 thousand won in the large size tractor and 70 thousand won in the small size tractor. The repair cost per hour of use was 621 won in the large size and 198 won in the small size tractor. 9. The repair cost rate of tractor(Y) was regulated with tractor age (X) as follow; Y=0.752X In case of the service life of tractor was 10 years, the total repair cost rate was 64 percent.
This experimental work was carried out to know the best method in producing the root stock effectively. The major experimental work was carried out by using Kairyo-Nezumigaeshi, and the comparative works were carried out by using Ichi-Hei, Kairyo-Nezumigaeshi, Ro-Soh, Yongchon-Chuwoo and Suwon No. 4. Results obtained from the test are as follows. 1. The larger size of the branch burried, the better live ratio and the quality of the sapling was found, and there was no significant difference between the top part and bottom part of the branch from the point of view of the ratio, but it was found that the top part showed better live ratio and quality. Mean time there was no difference in live ratio between the two sprouts root-stock type and the three sprouts root-stock type. 2. When the live ratio and sapling quality was compared from the aspect of the new root development, the heavy and medium developed root type showed better result than the poor developed one. 3. For the ambushing depth test of the root-stock, the root-stock which was painted with paraffin on the top and exposed in the air was found to have best live ratio. Mean time, even though paraffin was not painted all the top of the root-stock, the one which was exposed the top of it or the one ambushed with thin soil layer, showed better live ratio than the one deep ambushed. 4. There was difference for the live ratio between the perpendicularly ambushed root-stock and the lied ambushed mot-stock, but the former method showed better sapling quality. 5. The soil nature did not show any difference for the live ratio between the sand loam and clay loam, but the former one showed better sapling quality. 6. There was no difference live ratio between the mulberry varieties, but Yongchon-Chuwoo showed best sapling quality. 7. The grafted sapling production cost was 2.30 won and cattage sapling cost was 1.61 won.

A manipulation of zoysiagrass's lateral stems and soil-media; used for slope revegetation, is expected to facilitate the production of high-quality grass. To study the influences on the growth of zoysiagrass depending upon various soil-media conditions, two different types of soil are used. The results obtained - through investigation of its cover rates, leaf color and number - are summarized as follows. In mountain regions soil, there are no significant differences in growth and development of grass in treatments: zoysiagrass's lateral stems treatments with 1cm, 2cm, and 3cm soil-media and treatment with only seeding. Zoysiagrass, in most of the treatments, show about the same growth rates, and at the end, fair visual quality. Zoysiagrass's lateral stems treatments with 2cm, 3cm show slightly better growth, however, thickness of soil-media need not be more than 1cm to obtain an expected quality of lawn. In decomposed granite soil, there appears statistical significance in growth of the grass in treatments: zoysiagrass's lateral stems treatments with 1cm, 2cm, and 3cm soil-media and treatment with only seeding. The thicker the soil-media, the better the growth of grass, and that in treatment with seeding-only shows poor quality in general. And therefore, it is efficacious to plant in 3cm soil-media when quick formation of lawn is necessary; however, using 2cm soil-media is ultimately the most cost-efficient way of formation. But, when time allows - that is, more than three months - 1cm soil-media in decomposed granite soil is reasonable to formate just as effective lawn. And so when performing seeding, additional covering, fertilization or increasing the quantity of seed must be considered.
Since the shell-molds are used to make casting the metal parts for the automobile industry, the quality may well be inconsistent with the lower productivity, increasing the cost of the end products. The primary elbow design shell molded steel castings being produced through extrusion process has $180^{\varnothing}$ O.D., $150^{\varnothing}$ I.D., 14mm thickness and 400mm length, while being processed onto the left side of the tubing. The primary cause for the poor processing is the uneven manual shell molding. If the manual shell molds should be produced to have even quality, they would not be processed for tube linking. The purpose of this study was to develop the flask-molds for manufacturing of the shell molds to ensure mass-production, consistent quality, ommission of processing and comfortable working environment. For this purpose, four flask-molds were produced and thereby, four shell molds were assembled. In particular, the shell molds for processing were formed of the fine coated sand to be blown. As a result, productivity increased about three times, while a consistent quality was ensured. Furthermore, the tubes could be linked with each other without being processed, while pallets could be stacked, stored, transported and managed more easily. In a nut-shell, the molding theory could be applied more effectively. However, it is conceived that this study should be followed up by future studies which will research into reliability and endurability of the end products.
A study in predicting defects of spot welding in real time in automotive field is essential for cost reduction and high quality production. Welding quality is determined by shear strength and the size of the nugget, and results depend on different independent variables. In order to develop the real-time prediction system, multiple regression analyses were conducted and the two dependent variables were obtained with sufficient statistical results with three independent variables, however, the quality prediction by the regression formula could not ensure accuracy. In this study, a multi-layer neural network circuit was constructed. The neural network by 10 dynamic resistance variables was constructed with three hidden layers to obtain execution functions and weighting matrix. In this case, the neural network was established with three independent variables based on regression analysis, as there could be difficulties in real-time control due to too many input variables. As a result, all test data were divided into poor, partial, and modalities. Therefore, a real-time welding quality determination system by three independent variables obtained by multiple regression analysis was completed.
This paper explores the current situation of the broadcasting program production by video journalists (VJs), one of the recent trends of broadcasting production, centering around the programs made in Daejeon. The result of the survey shows that VJ programs are considered to be one of the generalized broadcasting program production systems. Thus, production costs should be γeadjusted to a realistic level in order to secure the good quality VJ programs in the current situation. Local broadcasting stations should depart from the idea that they make a VJ program subcontract to produce programs at low cost. It is time to support good quality VJ programs financially and systematically. The survey also reveals that most video journalists cannot participate in the decision-making process regarding program production. Local broadcastings should cooperate with video journalists, as co-producers, in producing the programs. Besides, VJ programs have some disadvantages such as limitation of high definition image production, poor image quality, instability of images taken, etc Hence, video journalists should also try to make better image quality of their broadcasting programs. Local subcontractors should make efforts to overcome their poor manpower and production environments as well. By economizing their scale of production and updating their production equipment, subcontractors need to constantly develop the contents related to local community which make them more competitive.
