  • The aim of the research is to figure out how the perception and the attitude of hospital staff have effect on cost management behavior, to check the mediation effect in the relationship between cost attitude and cost management behavior, and to provide some basic data of efficient cost management means for hospital staff. The major results of research can be summed up as following. Subordinate factors of cost perception such as conviction, information, and thought were all revealed as meaningful effect ones on cost attitude, but they didn't have meaningful effect on cost management behavior. However, if we check the final results of direct effect, indirect effect, and total effect in its variants, we can understand that cost perception have indirect effect on cost management behavior via cost attitude. Cost attitude was revealed as the greatest variant having direct effect on cost management behavior. As a conclusion, it seems that the correct cost perception can make positive cost attitude, by which desirable cost management behavior can be induced. Therefore, as the correct cost perception can make positive attitude, it is necessary to construct effective system to provide useful cost information for staff at anytime and at any place continually on organization aspect. It is important to get correct cost perception for the positive attitude of staff. Nevertheless, if the positive attitude would not be formed, it is necessary to search for the ways for personal motivation, for the management behavior cannot emerge positively.

  • Route travel cost in transportation networks consists of actual route travel cost and route perception cost. Since the route perception cost is differently perceived according to each origin and each destination, route search has limitation to reflect the note perception cost due to route enumeration problem. Thus, currently employed advanced traveller information systems (ATIS) have considered only actual route travel cost for providing route information. This study proposes an optimal and a K-route searching algorithm which are able to reflect the route perception cost but encompass route enumeration problem. For this purpose, this research defines the minimum nit of route as a link by adopting the link label technique in route searching, therefore the comparison of two adjacent links which can be finally expanded the comparison of two routes. In order to reflect the characteristics of route perception in real situation, an optimal shortest cost path algorithm that both the forward search from the origin and the backward search from the destination can be simultaneously processed is proposed. The proposed algorithm is applied for finding K number of shortest routes with an entire-path-deletion-type of K shortest route algorithm.

  • This study was conducted to analyze Korean companie's perception in IT investment cost-benefit analysis(CBA), and to see if various user group's perception is different. Literature was reviewed to classify and define variables in IT CBA, and questionnaire was distributed to CEOs, CIOs, IT managers, and general managers in Korean companies. Respondent's priority ranking in IT CBA was shown to be tangible benefit, direct cost/intangible benefit, and indirect cost/risk. Data analysis showed that Korean companie's actual practice in CBA was generally aligned with their perception. User group's(Executives vs. mangers, and IT managers vs. general managers) perception was not shown to be statistically different. Survey result also showed that IT CBA was not well practiced in the companies although respondents perceive the analysis very important. These findings suggest that more education and practical experience is needed for Korean companies to perform IT CBA.

  • This paper examines the safety perception of passengers on low cost carriers which has made several accidents and incidents at the early stage of their business. The concept of low cost carrier is becoming more important to airline industry in Korea. This study achieves the first selecting attribute among airline service factors on domestic flights and try to indicate that how much the passengers trust in the safety of low cost carriers. It is also sets the comparative safety awareness between low cost carriers and two full service national carriers in domestic market. The safety perception of aircraft type can be a major factor for LCC choice in Korea due to frequent accidents and incidents for last two years. More than 60% of LCC passengers have increasingly considered the safety after recent accidents. The low cost airlines' images of the passengers showed that the first image of the LCC was the fare and the second image was safety. This study indicates that most of the LCC travelers will use the international low cost airlines when LCC extend their destination to adjacent countries. For the accomplishment of the low cost carriers' competitiveness in domestic market, they have to try to get rid of bad image for safety and pay extra attention to find out better services other than the safety and develop other strategies to compete against existing full service carriers.

  • With rapid changes in social and marketing environments, catalog retailing emerges as a new method of selling clothes in Korea. In catalog shopping, in-store and multi·store search behavior are omitted saving consumers time and effort. On the other hand, consumers may lose recreational enjoyment of shopping when they purchase clothes through catalog. In this study, consumers perception of shopping cost and recreational shopping orientation were tested as consumer characteristic intervening catalog shopping behavior. The concept of shopping cost was derived from Darian(1987)'s analysis of cost and benefit of store shopping and in-home shopping. A national sample of 700 adult women was surveyed and 477 questionnaires were returned and used for statistical analysis. Nine shopping cost perception variables were found to have significant positive relationships with the purchase intention of apparel through catalog. As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, two factors of shopping cost were found; perception of lack of shopping time and perception of store search effort. Causal modeling of LISREL analysis showed that percetion of lack of shopping time was strongly related with patronizing intention of catalog shopping. Since catalog shopping exclude enjoyment of store shopping activity, it can be logically inferred that recreational store shoppers have less chance of being catalog shoppers. However, the result of LISREL analysis showed that there were no negative relationship between recreational shopping orientation and catalog shopping intention. This suggests that consumers might experience enjoyment of shopping through catalog when properly presented.

  • This present study investigatesed the impact of the team innovation-oriented human resource management (HRM) practices on employees' turnover intention among financial, pharmaceuticals, distribution, and manufacturing industries in Korea. Furthermore, we explored whether risk perception of turnover and the cost of changing job would mediate the relationship between team innovation-oriented human resource management practices with employees' turnover intention in different industries in Korea. To that end, PLS structural equation modeling was used to exam the research hypothesis. We have found that team innovation-oriented HRM practices have a significant impact on employees' turnover intention. Moreover, we have discovered risk perception of turnover and the switching cost of changing job playing mediating role in the relationship of team innovation-oriented HRM practices with turnover intention among different type of industries employee. Lastly, the theoretical implications were discussed based on these findings.

  • Total travel cost of route which connects origin with destination (O-D) is consist of the total sum of link travel cost and route perception cost. If the link perception cost is different according to the origin and destination, optimal route search has limitation to reflect the actual condition by route enumeration problem. The purpose of this study is to propose optimal route searching formulation and algorithm which is enable to reflect different link perception cost by each route, not only avoid the enumeration problem between origin and destination. This method defines minimum unit of route as a link and finally compares routes using link unit costs. The proposed method considers the perception travel cost at both origin and destination in optimal route searching process, while conventional models refect the perception cost only at origin. However this two-way searching algorithm is still not able to guarantee optimum solution. To overcome this problem, this study proposed an orign based optimal route searching method which was developed based on destination based optimal perception route tree. This study investigates whether proposed numerical formulas and algorithms are able to reflect route perception behavior reflected the feature of origin and destination in a real traffic network by the example research including the diversity of route information for the surrounding area and the perception cost for the road hierarchy.

  • Since American Airlines's mileage program emerged in market, loyalty programs have gained popularity. Many companies have generated many kinds of reward cards in order to induce precious consumers. As a result, reward cards are very important in consumer goods market and become diversified. In spite of its importance, little is known about how these cards influence consumer's perception. The prior research has not focused on reward card types and psychological variables. Accordingly this research intends to investigate psychological variables such as transaction coupling and sunk cost perception. According to the theory of regulatory focus, promotion focus consumers would point to gain-nongain frame work, but prevention focus consumers would point to loss-nonloss frame work. The paper proved the effect of reward card types and regulatory focus on transaction coupling and sunk cost perception. Based on the results from 2(type of card : visible vs invisible) ${\times}$ 2(regulatory focus: promotion vs prevention) between-subjects factorial design experiments, we found that consumer's transaction coupling and sunk cost perception of visible reward card are better recognized than invisible reward card. In addition, the results show that there is a significant interaction effect between the type of reward card and regulatory focus. Specifically promotion focused consumers tend to reveal better perception than prevention focused consumers in use of invisible cards. However, prevention focused consumers tend to show better perception than promotion focused consumers in use of visible cards. These findings will contribute to significant academic development and practically useful help to marketing managers.

  • The level of sunk cost and risk-taking theory have been offered as one explanation for the escalation of commitment behavior. This Study attempted to replicate Keil's study in Korea. Keil examined the level of sunk cost associated with the risk propensity and risk perception of decision-makers, and these factors are assessed for cross-cultural robustness using matching laboratory experiments carried out in three countries. The level of sunk cost and the risk perception of decision-makers contributed significantly to their continuous willingness to their project. Moreover, the risk propensity of decision-makers was inversely related to risk perception, and this inverse relationship was significantly more weak in Korea than in Singapore. These results show that the sunk-cost effect exists across cultures, and that the risk-taking behaviors are partially mediated by cultural factors.
