  • A quadratic regulator problem for a class of nonlinear system, in which a small parameter multiplies the control cost, is considered. In the analysis of the problem, we utilize the method of multiple time-scale decomposition which has been devised for analyzing complex linear cheap control problems. In so doing, we extend the class of nonlinear systems, considerably, for which the minimum cost becomes zero as the small parameter goes to zero.

Parameter Optimization for Cost Reduction of Microbubble Generation by Electrolysis

  • To lower the operational cost of microbubble generation by electrolysis, optimization of parameters limiting the process must be carried out for the process to be fully adopted in environmental and industrial settings. In this study, four test electrodes were used namely aluminum, iron, stainless steel, and Dimensionally Sable Anode (DSA). We identified the effects and optimized each operational parameter including NaCl concentration, current density, pH, and electrode distance to reduce the operational cost of microbubble generation. The experimental results showed that was directly related to the rate and cost of microbubble generation. Adding NaCl and narrowing the distance between electrodes caused no substantial changes to the generation rate but greatly decreased the power requirement of the process, thus reducing operational cost. Moreover, comparison among the four electrodes operating under optimum conditions revealed that aluminum was the most efficient electrode in terms of generation rate and operational cost. This study therefore presents significant data on performing costefficient microbubble generation, which can be used in various environmental and industrial applications.

공동주택 건물 외부공간 및 옥외시설의 공종별 수선비용 산정모델 (Repair Cost Estimation Model of the Building Exterior and Outdoor Facilities in Apartment Housing)

  • Purpose: Building figuration is imperative to perceive the its value, environmental clean status and form. Therefore, maintenance activities of the building exterior are required to keep the housing condition and value. Each household should pay the repair cost which is brought out in the future. For this repair cost, the estimation model would needed to forecast and provide the required cost. This study aimed at providing the estimation model of the repair cost, using the repair survey data between the 2011 and 2014 in Seoul. Method: For these, it took various estimation function of repair cost such as 1st function, inverse function and so on. These above functions would be applied into the building exterior and outdoor facilities which figure the building shape and characteristics. Result: Results of this study are shown ; First, among 11 estimation models, the power function has a better statistics and goodness-of-fit than any other models. Second, the estimation model with a variable of household has a pattern in upward to the right. On the contrary, the model with management area is little downward to the right. Both of them are depended on the estimated parameter of the power function and the parameter smaller than 1.

  • Modern weapon systems are multifunctional, with capabilities for executing complex missions. However, they are required to be highly reliable, which increases their total cost of ownership. Because it is necessary to produce the best results within a limited budget, there is an increasing interest in development, acquisition, and maintenance costs. Consequently, there is a need for tools that calculate the lifecycle costs of weapons systems development to facilitate decision making. In this study, we propose a cost calculation function based on the Markov process simulator-a reliability, availability, and maintainability analysis tool developed by applying the Markov-Monte Carlo method-as an alternative to these requirements to facilitate decision-making in systems development.

  • This research develops a low-cost and high accurate kinematic calibration method for a parallel typed machining center tool. A planar table is used for a mechanical fixture restricting the platform to place at the constrained pose and a low-cost and high accurate digital indicator is employed for a device checking if the constrained movement is satisfied within the established range. The kinematic parameters calibrated with respect to a single plane aren't influenced from the misalignment of the plane. A parameter observability is successfully obtained even through one planar constraint, which guarantees that the kinematic parameters is estimated by minimizing the cost function.

경로 추정 기반의 지연시간을 고려한 저비용 유니캐스트 라우팅 알고리즘 (On Unicast Routing Algorithm Based on Estimated Path for Delay Constrained Least Cost)

  • 특정 시간 내에 데이터 전송이 이루어져야 하는 실시간 멀티미디어 응용 서비스의 특성은 네트워크의 QoS(Quolity of Service) 보장을 위한 중요한 요소이다. 종단간(End-to-End) 지연시간 제한 조건을 만족하면서 최소 비용을 갖는 (Delay Constrained Least Cost, DCLC) 경로를 찾는 문제는 이미 NP-hard 문제로 알려져 있다. DCLC 문제의 해법은 경로 지연시간과 비용간의 적절할 선택으로 해결하야 한다. 그러나 최적에 가까운 알고리즘으로 알려진 Salama의 DCUR 알고리즘(1)은 알고리즘의 단순성을 위하여 임의의 노드에서 경로 선정 시 목적 노드까지의 최소 비용 경로나 최소 지연시간 경로상의 다음 노드로만 제한을 하여 라우팅 경로의 비용측면에서 다소 비효율적이다. 일반적으로 최소 지연시간 경로의 비용은 최소 비용 경로의 비용보다 상대적으로 높은 경로 비용을 갖으며, 역으로 최소 비용 경로의 지연시간은 최소 지연시간 경로의 지연 시간보다 상대적으로 높은 지연시간을 갖는다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 점에 착안하여 DCLC문제를 해결하기 위해 확률적 주정 기법을 사용한다. 최근 발표한 독립적 두 변수간의 확률적 조합 알고리즘은 이러한 현상을 극복하기에 충분한 알고리즘이다(2). 따라서 확률적 새로운 변수에 기반한 경로 추정 기법을 사용하였으며, 그에 대한 성능평가를 하였다.

LPD(Linear Parameter Dependent) System Modeling and Control of Mobile Soccer Robot

  • In this paper, a new model for mobile soccer robot, a type of linear system, is presented. A controller, consisting of two loops the one of which is the inner state feedback loop designed for stability and plant be well conditioned and the outer loop is a well-known PI controller designed for tracking the reference input, is suggested. Because the plant, the soccer robot, is parameter dependent, it requires the controller to be insensitive to the parameter variation. To achieve this objective, the pole-sensitivity as a pole-variation with respect to the parameter variation is defined and design algorithms for state-feedback controllers are suggested, consisting of two matrices one of which is for general pole-placement and other for parameter insensitive. This paper shows that the PI controller is equivalent to the state feedback and the cost function for reference tracking is equivalent to the LQ cost. By using these properties, we suggest a tuning procedure for the PI controller. We that the control algorithm in this paper, based on the linear system theory, is well work by simulation, and the LPD system modeling and control are more easy treatment for soccer robot.

공연여건 성장에 따른 예산계획의 변화모색 (Change to Plan Budgeting According to Development of the Environment of Performing Arts in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 공연여건의 성장에 걸 맞는 투자시스템으로의 변화를 모색하는 데 있다. 특히, 제작사들이 원하는 장기공연이나 오픈런 방식으로 공연여건이 조성되고 있는 상황에서 연장공연 여부를 신속히 판단할 수 있고, 제작자와 투자자 양자가 만족할 수 있는 미국식 예산수립 방식으로의 변화모색이 필요한 시점이다. 이에 구체적으로 3가지 방안을 제시하였다. 첫째, 연장공연이나 재공연 여부를 보다 정확히 판단하기 위해서는 현재와 같이 평균비용(Average Cost)을 산출하여 평균수입과 비교하기보다는 미국과 같이 한계비용(Marginal Cost)을 산출해서 비교해야 할 것이다. 둘째, 수익배분에 대한 불합리성을 극복하기 위해서는 현재와 같이 총제작비를 투자모수로 삼기보다는 미국과 같이 총제작비에서 운영비용(Operating Cost)을 제외한 프로덕션비용(Production Cost)만을 투자모수로 삼아야한다. 셋째, 앞서 언급한 한계비용의 산출과 프로덕션비용의 산출을 위해서는 미국 지출예산(Expense Budget)의 이원화 작성법의 국내 적용이 필요하겠다.

  • Guaranteed cost control is a method applicable to a class of systems with uncertain parameters that guarantees an upper bound of the cost functional. This paper is concerned with a matrix decomposition technique used to yield a reasonable upper bound of the cost functional for a finite-time LQ regulator problem. The uncertain linear systems dealt with in this paper are described by a set of state equations of single-input phase-variable canonical form which contain unknown but bounded uncertain parameters.

  • This paper addresses the design of State-feedback Robust Guaranteed-Cost Controllers with controller gain variations. Since the unstructured uncertainty is the most dominant uncertainty in the modeling of the plant, the plant is assumed to have the unstructured uncertainty. It is necessary to take the controller parameter perturbation into consideration when we design the robust controller. Otherwise, the resulting controller may show the fragility property. That is to say, the extremely small controller parameter variation may result in the instability of the overall closed-loop system.
