  • This paper considers automated storage and retrieval systems with double shuttle. We developed the expected travel time model based on the first come first served rule. An heuristic procedure by retrieval order sequencing was presented which aimed to improve the operation efficiency laking advantage of "No cost zone". Through sensitivity study, we evaluated the performance of the double shuttle system working on the four command cycle.

  • We report on a new type dc-dc converter design that combines the advantage of dc ripple noise elimination and high efficiency. As potential low cost solar cells, DSC module and the panel's system efficiency and stability are still critical problems to the way of marketing. In this study, a new three-step dc-dc converter scheme with the phase-shift-carrier technology is proposed to apply for solar power system. We have achieved power conversion efficiency around 94.88%.

  • This study was motivated how it might be possible to validate structured sampling with orthogonal array for optimal design of a pin. The Taguchi method by orthogonal array, one of the structured sampling methods, has much advantage that is row cost and time saving for experiments.   • The advantages for using Monte Carlo methods to analyze full-core reactor configurations include essentially exact representation of geometry and physical phenomena that are important for reactor analysis. But this substantial advantage comes at a substantial cost because of the computational burden, both in terms of memory demand and computational time. This paper focuses on the challenges facing full-core Monte Carlo for keff calculations and the prospects for Monte Carlo becoming a routine tool for reactor analysis.

  • Logic Based Expert System (LBES) has the advantage of real-time inference. This paper shows a LBES for fault diagnosis of power system and proposes the hardware implementation of LBES. Besides, having a power system topology in memory chip, proposed system is apt to be applicable to other system with low changing cost.

Ownership Structure and Syndicated Loan Maturity

  • Controlling for the impacts of main strands of debt maturity theories, we highlight the relationship between syndicated loan maturity and ownership structure of Korean borrowers. We find that as the ownership of large shareholders increases, the maturity of syndicated loans also increases. Additionally, we identify a negative relation between foreigners' ownership and loan maturity, indicating that foreign institutional investors serve valuable monitoring functions; as their equity shares increase, they fully take advantage of frequent renewals through the short maturity of syndicated loan. We also show that the predicted value of leverage is more systematically and positively related to the maturity of syndicated loan.

  • In this paper, a new method of state code assignment for reduction of switching activities of state transition in asynchronous circuits is proposed. The algorithm is based on a on-hot code and modifies it to reduce switching activities. To estimate switching activities as a cost functions we introduce state transition probability (STP). AS a results, the proposed algorithm has an advantage of 60% over with the conventional code assignment in terms of switching and code length of state assignment.

  • In Manufacturing using time-based strategies, as a competitive advantage, time is the equivalent of productivity, quality, innovation. In addition, time-based sourcing's impact on competiveness is not limited to cost control but also influences the performance of its adoption. This paper is to examine the relation between the level of time-recognition and supporting and performance of time-based sourcing by the empirical study.

  • Logistics network management has become one of the most important sources of competitive advantage regarding logistics cost and customer service in numerous business segments. Logistics network simulation is a powerful analysis method for designing and planning the logistics network optimally in an integrated way. This paper introduces a logistics network simulator, LONSIM, developed by author. LONSIM deploys a mix of simulation and optimization functions to model and analysis logistics network issues such as facility location, inventory policy, manufacturing policy, transportation mode, warehouse assignment, supplier assignment, order processing priority rule, and vehicle routes. LONSIM is built with AweSim 2.1 and Visual Basic 6.0, and executed in windows environment.
