Hyaluronic acid(HA) is a naturally occurring mucopolysaccharide composed of the repeating disaccharide unit of D-glucuronic acid and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine. HA exists as a high molecular weight polymer in the extracellular matrix of many tissues in the body. HA has been widely used not only for osteoarthritis and ophthalmology but also for cosmetics for skin care. Recently HA has drawin much attention for use in health foods. Bioland Corporation started production of HA t1y biotechnological process in 1990 for cosmetical use. At present Bioland produces HA for cosmetic and food use. We have done many researches to evaluate the helpful effect for skin and safety of HA as food. In order to evaluate the effect of HA on the skin after its oral intake, we measured its bioavailability, skin-care effects on anti-wrinkle, moisturization elasticity and desquamation by clinical trial. The results showed that HA is very safe and could bs helpful to improve anti-wrinkling, moisturization, elasticity, and desquamation on the skin.

Recently 'lookism' is prevalent in Korean society. Lookism is a thought that one of causes of unequality of the mankinds is the appearance. The appearance is not only endowed but is made by efforts. Korean market related beauty including cosmetics occupied over $15billion. The purpose of this study is to find the determinants of the appearance management behaviors. Considering social characteristics of Korea and previous literatures, Collectivism, body image were chosen as an explaining variables. And self-esteem, attitudes toward sex roles and the shopping orientation and some demographic variables were selected. For the data analysis, 514 questionnaire for male and female in Daegu were collected. The determinants of appearance management behaviors were perceived level of living, concerns toward thinness, shopping orientation, appearance evaluation, female, family oriented thinking, belief in appearance power, attitude toward sex roles.

Melanin is a main pigment found in skin. hair and eyes, and tyrosinase plays an important role in the process of melanin polymer biosynthesis. Caesalpinia sappan L.(C. sappan) has been commonly used in Oriental folk medicines to promote blood circulation and as analgesic as well as remedy for thrombosis. This present study was designed to investigate the effect of ethyl acetate extract from C. sappan on melanogenesis in Melan-a cells. (omitted)

Packaging has been regarded as a environmental problem because of its relatively high portion of municipal solid wastes. Especially, cosmetic packaging has been focused because of characteristics of cosmetic packaging. Cosmetic products are highly sensitive products that pursue the beauty differently from other products. Cosmetic packaging materials are difficult to be recycled. Purpose of this study is to suggest the method to improve the environmental friendly packaging of cosmetic products. This study contains the major governmental policies on the cosmetic packaging in terms of environment issues in Korea, and suggested methods to develop the environmental friendly packaging of cosmetic products.

Cytotoxic activity against the P388 cell line was seen in a crude extract of Anisotome lyallii. A bioactivity guided isolation led to the isolation of a deterpene. which displayed strong Cytotoxic activity against the P388 cell line (IC50 2.3 $\mu$g/ml), as well as antimicrobial activity against Bacillus subtilis. The structure of de terpene 1 was elucidated by spectroscopic methods. (omitted)

본 연구에서는 화장품 브랜드 매장의 체험특성이 브랜드 가치와 매장 내 제품 기대를 통해 구매의도에 주는 영향을 확인하고자 하였다. 또한 성별의 조절효과를 밝힘으로써 화장품 브랜드 매장의 체험에 관한 이론적 연구를 보완하고 실무적 시사점을 제공하고자 하였다. 먼저, 매장 내 체험특성으로서 교육적 체험, 심미적 체험, 유희적 체험을 제시하였으며, 이러한 체험특성들이 브랜드 가치와 매장 내 제품에 대한 기대에 주는 영향, 브랜드 가치와 기대가 매장 내 제품에 대한 구매의도에 주는 영향을 가정하였다. 화장품 브랜드 매장 방문 경험이 있는 소비자들을 대상으로 279부의 데이터를 수집하였고, 이를 구조방정식 분석에 이용하였다. 검증결과, 체험특성 모두 브랜드 가치와 매장 내 제품 기대에 긍정적 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났고, 브랜드 가치는 기대에 긍정적 영향을, 그리고 브랜드 가치와 매장내 제품 기대는 매장 내 제품 구매의도에 긍정적 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 조절효과 검증에서는 유희적 체험이 브랜드 가치에 주는 영향이 남성에게서 더 큰 것으로 나타났고, 교육적 체험과 심미적 체험이 매장 내 제품 기대에 주는 영향은 여성에게서 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 화장품 브랜드 매장 체험연구의 이론적 확장에 기여하고 있으며, 화장품 매장의 체험마케팅에 있어 전략적 시사점을 제공하고 있다.

Ginsenoside Rg4 is a rare ginsenoside that is naturally found in ginseng, and exhibits a wide range of biological activities including antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties in several cell types. The purpose of this study was to use an in vivo model of hair follicle (HF)-mimic based on a human dermal papilla (DP) spheroid system prepared by three-dimensional (3D) culture and to investigate the effect of Rg4 on the hair-inductive properties of DP cells. Treatment of the DP spheroids with Rg4 (20 to 50 ㎍/ml) significantly increased the viability and size of the DP spheres in a dose-dependent manner. Rg4 also increased the mRNA and protein expression of DP signature genes that are related to hair growth including ALP, BMP2, and VCAN in the DP spheres. Analysis of the signaling molecules and luciferase reporter assays further revealed that Rg4 induces the activation of phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K)/AKT and the inhibitory phosphorylation of GSK3β, which activates the WNT/β-catenin signaling pathway. These results correlated with not only the increased nuclear translocation of β-catenin following the treatment of the DP spheres with Rg4 but also the significant elevation of mRNA expression of the downstream target genes of the WNT/β-catenin pathway including WNT5A, β-catenin, and LEF1. In conclusion, these results demonstrated that ginsenoside Rg4 promotes the hair-inductive properties of DP cells by activating the AKT/GSK3β/β-catenin signaling pathway in DP spheres, suggesting that Rg4 could be a potential natural therapy for hair growth.

본 연구에서는 섬오갈피 줄기 추출물 및 용매 분획물의 미백 활성을 검색하고 유효성분을 분리하여 화학구조를 규명하였다. 섬오갈피 줄기 에탄올 추출물 및 용매 분획물의 멜라닌 생성 억제활성을 측정한 결과, 헥산 및 에틸아세테이트 분획물에서 우수한 멜라닌 생성 억제 효과가 있음을 확인하였다. 비교적 세포독성이 적은 헥산 분획물에서 유효성분을 찾고자 크로마토크래피를 실시하여 3개의 화합물을 분리하였으며 $^1H$ 및 $^{13}C$ NMR 데이터 분석 및 문헌 비교를 통하여 화학구조를 동정하였다; kaurenoic acid (1), $16{\alpha}$-hydro-17-isovaleroyloxy-ent-kauran-19-oic acid (2), $16{\alpha}$-hydroxy-17-isovaleroyloxy-ent-kauran-19-oic acid (3). 분리된 화합물에 대한 미백 활성 실험 결과, 화합물 1-3 모두 농도의존적으로 멜라닌 생성을 억제하였다. 또한 세포 내 티로시나제 효소의 활성을 감소시킴을 확인하였으며 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 섬오갈피 줄기 추출물은 기능성 미백 화장품 소재로써 활용 가능할 것이라 사료된다.

본 논문에서는 네트워크의 발전과 빅 데이터 등의 차세대 기술에 발맞추어 단방향적 정보전달이 아닌, 고객 중심의 고객만족 서비스를 제안하고자 하나의 앱을 제작한다. 뷰티 캐스터 앱은 사용자들의 기본정보, 환경정보, 외부정보를 통합 분석한 '개인별 뷰티지수' 산출 등의 개인 정보 서비스와 함께 개인별 뷰티지수를 활용한 'Auto-counselling' 제공하고, 사용자의 정보로부터 획득한 히스토리를 분석하여 맞춤형 Commerce를 구성한다. 이러한 뷰티 캐스터 앱은 실제 코스메틱 기업에서 활용 가능하여 어플리케이션 상용화 시, 정보를 제공하는 기업과 기능을 제공하는 뷰티 캐스터 모두 이익을 얻을 수 있을 것이며, 이러한 뷰티 캐스터는 빅 데이터를 기반으로한 사용자의 니즈 파악이 빠른 어플리케이션 이므로 사용자들의 구매에 따라 컨텐츠가 변화하기 때문에 고객들이 원하는 정보를 빠르게 습득하여 전달 할 수 있다. 또한, 뷰티 지수의 고도화를 통한 '대한민국 코스메틱 지표화'를 기대하여 그 지표를 통해 고객들의 코스메틱 구매 기준을 마련할 수 있다.

For the development of functional food and cosmetics using hot water extract of Muraenesox cinereus's skin, contents of vitamin, amino acid and element, and antioxidant activity were investigated. The results are shown as follows: among vitamins, A(0.21mg/100 g), C (78.12mg/100 g), $D_3$ (0.03 mg/100 g), E (1.97 mg/100 g) and Niacin (2.53mg/100 g) were detected, respectively.Mineral contents were an order of K > P > Na > Mg > Ca > Fe and Zn. Contents of total amino acids were an order of Pro > Gly > Arg > Glu > Phe > Ala. Especially, the sum of total amino acids was 27.17 mg/100 mL, which was about 4.0 fold higher than that of free amino acid. DPPH radical scavenging activity of hot water extract of M. cinereus's skin at 25 mg/mL was 63.5% and did not increase at above 50 mg/mL. Activities of antioxidant enzymes in the liver of ethanol-treated rats using hot water extract of M. cinereus's skin were investigated. Compared to control group, activities of ADH and GSH-px were decreased. In the case of CAT and SOD activity, they were increased. These results showed that the hot water extract of M. cinereus's skin can be applied to raw macterial for functional food and cosmetics.
