  • In this paper, we investigate the regularities of the hyper-complex valued functions of the split quaternion variables. We define several differential operators for the split qunaternionic function. We research several left split regular functions for each differential operators. We also investigate split harmonic functions. And we find the corresponding Cauchy-Riemann system and the corresponding Cauchy theorem for each regular functions on the split quaternion field.

  • In Multiple Objective Linear Programming (MOLP), it is well known that efficient solution and weight are correspondent to each other. The purpose of this paper is to study relationships between efficient face and the region of weight in MOLP. It is shown that the regions of weights corresponding to two efficient extreme points are also neighbor if two efficient extreme points are neighbor each other, and that the set of the efficient solutions corresponding to the common part of weight regions is efficient face. Using the above, we present a method to find the efficient solutions corresponding to a given weight and vice versa.

  • This thesis is a case study of hospital design corresponding to substance of hospital components. The substance of each divisions and functional elements of hospital architecture is analyzed and the appropriate forms corresponding to each substance are tried in design. The researcher is convinced, that healthcare facilities for patients must be differently designed from post-modernism or deconstructivism. He suggests new design method in designing of jeju university hospital competition.

  • Catecholalane (1,3,2-Benzodioxaluminole, CA) prepared from catechol and aluminum hydride in tetrahydrofuran (THF) is found to be a selective reducing agent. The systematic study in order to characterize the reducing properties of the reagent under practical conditions (THF, 0 or 25 ℃, the quantitative amount of reagent to compound) has been done. The reagent reduces aldehydes, ketones, esters and acid chlorides to the corresponding alcohols, and primary amides to the corresponding amines. Especially noteworthy is that the reagent can convert both aromatic and aliphatic nitriles to the corresponding aldehydes in very high yields.

  • A new convenient method for the reduction of carboxylic acids to the corresponding alcohols via acyloxyborohydrides was explored. Acyloxyborohydrides, prepared from the reaction of various carboxylic acids and sodium borohydride, underwent reduction to the corresponding alcohols readily by the addition of dimethyl sulfate or Lewis acids, such as boron trifluoride etherate and triphenyl borate, presumably through acyloxyboranes. By utilizing this procedure, aliphatic and aromatic acids are rapidly and quantitatively reduced to the corresponding alcohols in terahydrofuran either at room temperature (or at $65^{\circ}$). This procedure provides selective reduction of carboxylic acids in the presence of halogen, nitro, and heterocyclic rings such as furan and thiophene.

  • 4-Arylazo-1H-pyrazol-3, 5-idimines 1a-c reacted with bromomalononitrile (2) to yield the corresponding imidazo[1, 2-b]pyrazoles 3a-c. The latter reacted with some active methylene compounds and with .alpha.-cinnamonitriles to afford the corresponding pyrazoloimidazopyridines 6, 8, 9 and 15, respectively. Compounds 3 reacted with each of formic acid, formamide, trichlo-roacetonitrile and with guanidine to yield the corresponding pyrazoloimidazopyrimidines 16-19 respectively.

  • A phenomenological theory of viscosity previously proposed by the present authors8 is applied to the corresponding state theory for the viscosity of liquid. Through the process of the formulation of the corresponding state equation, we can find the simple viscosity equation with no parameters in a reduced form. The liquid viscosities of various substances can be calculated using this equation when we know only the values of the molecular weight and critical constant of substances. A corresponding state equation for the viscosity of liquid from this theory may be applicable to predicting viscosities of various substances under varying temperature and pressure. As a result, this equation may be widely applied to chemical engineering.
