Drying behavior and physical properties of HwBKP, SwBKP, and OCC handsheets depending on kneading, refining and wet pressing were analyzed. The maximum drying shrinkage velocity was newly adopted to verify the effect of mechanical treatment of pulps by evaluating drying behavior according to varying the kneading, refining and wet pressing treatments. Those various treatments were changed to evaluate the relationship between the maximum drying shrinkage velocity and handsheets properties. When the drying shrinkage and the maximum drying velocity increased by refining and wet-pressing, handsheets strength was increased. The maximum drying shrinkage velocity showed higher correlation with physical properties of paper than WRV at different refining loads at SwBKP and mixed pulp. At high wet-web dryness, drying shrinkage, the maximum drying shrinkage velocity and strength properties of handsheet were increased. It meant that drying shrinkage behavior was highly affected by not only fibers' shrinkage but also fiber bonding. Kneading pre-treatment for KOCC and SwBKP effectively modified fiber properties and increasing paper strength and drying shrinkage. The effect of kneading pre-treatment was also confirmed by the maximum drying shrinkage velocity. Strength properties of mixed pulp handsheets were not increased by the kneading pre-treatment, although the maximum drying shrinkage velocity and WRV was increased. It meant that fibers network bonding of HwBKP was limited because of ves sels and ray cells' interference for bonding. Therefore in order to improve paper strengths containing HwBKP by mechanical treatments, interference of vessels and ray cells for fiber bondings should be carefully controlled.

In this paper, we propose a Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access(SC-FDMA) scheme with greatly enhanced tolerance of timing offset among the users. The type of the proposed scheme is similar to code spread Multiple Carrier Direct Spread Code Division Multiple Access(MC DS CDMA). The proposed scheme performs partial Discrete Fourier Transform(DFT) in order to solve high Peak to Average Power Ratio(PAPR) of the MC DS CDMA before Inverse Fast Fourier Transform(IFFT). Exploiting the property Properly Scrambled Walsh-Hadamard(PSW) code has zero correlation despite ${\pm}1$ chip timing offset, the proposed scheme achieves Multiple Access Interference free performance with the timing offset up to ${\pm}1$ OFDM symbol duration with low PAPR. In contrast, the other existing schemes in comparison undergo severe performance degradation even with small timing offset in multipath fading channel.

In this paper, we propose a Cyclic-Prefix Code Division Multiple Access system that uses Sequences with Good Autocorrelation property(GAS-CP-CDMA) and analyze the uplink signal-to-noise ratio performance of that system. Phase-shifted sequences are used for differentiating users. The signals of the GAS-CP-CDMA system experience no (or very little) interferences from co-cell signals because of the good autocorrelation property, but user signals of adjacent cells may yield interferences. The frequency reuse factor in the ordinary CDMA system is around 0.6 and the interference from adjacent cells is about 40 percent of the total interference in the conventional CDMA system. Our numerical analysis shows that the frequency reuse factor and user capacity versus signal-to-noise ratio of the GAS-CP-CDMA system are improved comparing to the conventional CDMA system. The uplink user capacity of the proposed system can be increased up to about twice of that of the conventional CDMA system.

In 3GPP LTE downlink system, initial cell search is essential for mobile station to connect to base station. In order to obtain information of the base station, the mobile station detects frame timing, frequency offset, and cell identification using primary synchronization channel(PSC) and secondary synchronization channel(SSC), which are defined in downlink OFDMA specification. In this paper, we analyze various detection algorithms in practical environment of inter-cell-interference, frequency offset, and multi-path fading channel and propose the optimal algorithm. Simulation results show that partial correlation method (for PSC acquisition) and interference cancellation method (for SSC detection) are the most superior algorithms among the applicable algorithms. Employ these two algorithms for receiver design, initial cell search is performed with 99% probability within 70ms in the channel environment considered.

In this paper, we propose a chaotic correlation delay shift keying(CDSK) using digital retrodirective array antenna (RDA) for improving security and receive performance. Chaotic signals provide improved security due to non-periodic and non-predictable performance of chaotic signals. However, the receive performance of these chaotic signals is degraded due to self-interference and interference signals. Therefore, this paper, we analyze the receive BER performance of chaos communication system which has digital RDA based on CDSK modulation schemes for improving security without receive performance degradation. Simulation results show that the proposed system can get the same receiving performance compared to BPSK modulation schemes when array elements of RDA are 5.

Purpose: Besides depression and anxiety, recently pain catastrophizing has been emphasized for an important psychological factor explaining pain response in various pain conditions including temporomandibular disorders (TMDs). The aims of this study were to evaluate pain catastrophizing of TMD patients and to investigate how the level of pain catastrophizing related with clinical variables and psychometric morbidity. Methods: Inclusion criterion was all new TMD patients ${\geq}18$ years old attending the Department of Orofacial Pain and Oral Medicine of Dankook University Dental Hospital (Cheonan, Korea) over three-month period in 2014, who completed questionnaires. The questionnaires included the Brief Pain Inventory (BPI), Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS), and Symptom Check List- 90-Revised (SCL-90-R). All of them were examined clinically and diagnosed. Results: One hundred fifty five patients diagnosed as TMDs were participated in this study (mean age of $38.7{\pm}15.2$ years, male:female=1:2.5). Mean PCS score of the patients was 17.3 with standard deviation of 12.6. By the median of the PCS score (i.e., 15), the subjects were categorized into the high (${\geq}15$) and low catastrophizers (<15). Increased pain severity and interference and increased score of psychological features of SCL-90-R were found in the TMD patients with higher level of catastrophizing (p<0.001) and there was weak to moderate correlation between those factors (p<0.05). Difference in catastrophizing level was not found for other variables such as age, gender, duration of pain, education level and types of TMDs. Conclusions: Conclusively, pain catastrophizing of TMD patients relates positively to pain severity and pain interference. In addition to depression and anxiety, pain catastrophizing is positively correlated with variable other psychological morbidity such as somatization, obsessive- compulsive, interpersonal sensitivity, paranoid ideation and psychoticism. Types of TMD diagnosis do not seem to affect catastrophizing level. The results of this study suggest that pain catastrophizing should be emphasized and assessed in the TMD patients.

Chaos communication system has a sensitive characteristic to initial conditions, because completely another signal is generated when initial condition of chaos equation is changed subtly. Also, chaos communication systems have the characteristics of non-periodic, non-predictability, the broadband signal, such as ease of implementation. Due to these characteristics, security of chaos communication system generally is evaluated better than other systems. However, BER(Bit Error Rate) performance is evaluated worse than other digital system, because existing chaos communication system's transmitter and receiver are strong influence by interference signal and noise. So, research to improve the BER performance of the chaotic communication system is performed continuously. In this paper, We will propose a new CDSK(Correlation Delay Shift Keying) receiver for BER performance improvement. After we compare to the performance of existing CDSK receiver and proposed CDSK receiver, BER performance of proposed CDSK receiver evaluate. Also, when using the new CDSK receiver, we evaluate the BER performance according to the spreading factors and find an optimum spreading factor. If chaos communication system use a new CDSK receiver, BER performance is improved than existing CDSK receiver. Also, if spreading factor's value is increased, BER performance is improved, because it is not nearly affected by interference signal and noise.

In this paper, we propose a time constant control method for sieving local minimum problem of the multiuser detector using Hopfield neural network for synchronous multi-rate code division multiple access(CDMA) system in selective fading environments and its performance is compared with that of the parallel interference cancellation(PIC). We also assume that short scrambling codes of 256 chip length are used an uplink, suggest a simple correlation estimation algorithm and circuit complexity reduction method by using cyclostationarity property of short scrambling code.It is verified that multiuser detector using Hopfield neural network more efficiently cancels multiple access interference(MAI) and obtain better bit error rate and near-far resistant than conventional detector.
It is important to predict the groundwater level fluctuation for effective management of groundwater monitoring system and groundwater resources. In the present study, three different time series models for the prediction of groundwater level in response to rainfall were built, those are transfer function noise model (TFNM), artificial neural network (ANN), and adaptive neuro fuzzy interference system (ANFIS). The models were applied to time series data of Boen, Cheolsan, and Hongcheon stations in National Groundwater Monitoring Network. The result shows that the model performance of ANN and ANFIS was higher than that of TFNM for the present case study. As lead time increased, prediction accuracy decreased with underestimation of peak values. The performance of the three models at Boen station was worst especially for TFNM, where the correlation between rainfall and groundwater data was lowest and the groundwater extraction is expected on account of agricultural activities. The sensitivity analysis for the input structure showed that ANFIS was most sensitive to input data combinations. It is expected that the time series model approach and results of the present study are meaningful and useful for the effective management of monitoring stations and groundwater resources.
Optimal analytical conditions have been established for mixing and reaction coil length, concentrations of ECR, CTAB, and acetate, reaction temperature and pH in the determination of aluminum by using flow injection analysis(FIA). Detection limit and repeatability for this system were $3{\mu}g/L$ and better than 1% of relative standard deviation, respectively. The interference from iron(III) was suppressed up to 6mg/L of iron(III) by $0.1{\mu}M$ ascorbic acid, and the interference from fluoride could be tolerated in absorption of Al/ECR/CTAB derivative by 10mM boric acid at pH 3.5 adjusted with nitric acid. This FIA system was applied to the determination of aluminum leached from cooking utensils by distilled and tap water containing fluoride ranged from 0.5 to 2mg/L by measurement of absorbance for Al/ECR/CTAB at 585nm. The leached aluminum content was increased with increasing concentration of fluoride. The aluminum contents leached from aluminum utensils by tap water were about 9 fold higher than those leached by distilled water, whereas aluminum contents leached by distilled water containing fluoride were about 2 fold higher compared to those leached by distilled water. That represented that other dissolved substances as well as fluoride in tap water contributed to liberation of aluminum from aluminum utensils. A comparison between FIA data and ICP-AES data by correlation and paired t test showed that the FIA system could be accepted as a good alternative method for the determination of aluminum in tap water.
