우리나라 중부지방에서의 자폐수종 선발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Selecting Barrier Trees in the Middle Temperature forest Zone of Korea)

  • To select suitable siecies for barrier trees in the middle tmperature forest zone of Korea, sprout ratio, verdi cal density ratio and impenetrability were analyzed for 41 species including 9 evergreen conifer trees which had been transplanted 18 years ago and maintained as a hedge at Pocheon - Gun, Kyonggi -Do, Korea. 1. The species with high sprout ratio of hedges were Rosa multiflora, Lonicera maackii, Chamaecyparis pisifera, Thuja occidentalis in order at the upper portion, Thuja occidentalis, Rosa multiflora, Chamaecyparis pisifera, in order oa the middle portion, and Thuja occidentals, Chamaecyparis pisigera, Rosa multiflora, Cercdiphyllum japonicum, Cornus kousa, Ulmus pumila, Robinia pseudoacacia in order at the lower portion of hedges. 2. the species with high vertical density ratio were Thuja occidentalis, Chamaecyparis pisifera, Weigela subsessilis, Acer ginnala in order. 3.The species with hight impnetrability were Thuja occidentalis, Chamaecyparis pisifera, Forsythia Koreana, Juniperus rigida, Juniperus chinensis, Pinus strobus in order. 4. the values of correlation coefficents between the sprout ratio and impenetrability are given in table 3 and positive significant correlations can be observed in conifer trees.5. The species with high suitability for tree barrier were Thuja occidontalis, Chamaecyparis pisifera, Acer ginnala, Juniperus chinensis, Rosa multiflora, Counus kousa, Cercidiphyllum japonocum, Weigela subsessilis, Cornus officinalis, Philadelphus schrenckii in order.

일부 병원성 미생물에 대해 항균활성을 보이는 생약의 탐색 (Screening of Herb Drugs Showing Antimicrobial Activity Against Some Pathogenic Microorganisms)

  • 수종의 병원성 미생물에 대한 39여종의 생약 열수추출액의 항균성을 조사한 결과 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 황백 Phellodendron amurense 및 황령 Coptis chinensis 는 Staphylococcus aureus균의 생육을 억제시켰으며 복분자 Rubus creanus는 Staphylococcus aureus 및 Pseudomonas aeruginosa에 항균력을 나타내었다. 진피 Citrus unshiu는 E.coli에 대해서 산수유 Cornus officinalis는 Candida albicans의 생육을 억제시켰고 우슬 Achyranthes japonica 및 감초 Clycyrrhiza uralsis는 Aspergillus niger에 뚜렷한 항균효과를 나타내었다. 또한 감초는 Staphylococcus Aureus, E. coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa , Aspergillus niger 모두에 항균력을 나타내었다.

산채막(山菜莫)의 약배양(約培養)에 환한 연구(硏究) (Anther Culture of Cornus officinalis Sieb. et Zucc.)

  • 산채막(山菜莫)(Cornus officinalis Sieb. et Zucc. )의 조직배양(組織培養)을 위한 기초적(基礎的) 연구(硏究)로서 체배양(諦培養)에 미치는 배지(培地), 생장조절제(生長調節劑), 저온(低溫) 전처리(前處理), 배양온도(培養溫度) 및 광(光)의 영향(影響)을 검토(檢討)한 결과(結果)는 다음과 같다. 1. 캘러스 형성율(形成率)은 MS배지(培地)보다 WPM배지(培地)에서 좋은 반응(反應)을 보였으며, Img/L NAA를 첨가(添加)한 WPM배지(培地)에서 54%로 가장 높았고, 캘러스 생장(生長)은 2mg/L NAA를 첨가(添加)한 MS배지(培地)에서 좋았다. 2. 약(約)의 배양온도(培養溫度) 및 광(光)의 영향(影響)은 $25^{\circ}C$, 16시간 명배양(明培養)이 62%의 가장 높은 캘러스 형성율(形成率)을 보였다. 3. 캘러스 형성(形成)에 미치는 약(約)의 저온(低溫) 전처리(前處理) 효과(效果)는 $4^{\circ}C$, 36시간 처리(處理)에서 19.5%로 가장 높았다. 4. 기관분화(器官分化)를 위한 적정배지(適正培地)로는 0. 5mg/L 2, 4-D와 1mg/L kinetin을 첨가(添加)한 MS배지가 녹점형성(綠點形成) 및 뿌리분화를 촉진(促進)하였다. 5. 캘러스 양변화(楊變化) 방지(防止)를 위하여는 3-5mg/L ABA 와 5mg/L $AgNO_3$의 첨가(添加)가 효과적이었으며, 캘러스 활력(活力)이 높아 녹점형성(綠點形成)을 촉진(促進)하였다.

산수유로부터 gallic acid 추출 및 HPLC에 의한 정량분석 (Optimization of Extraction Method for the Quantitative Analysis of Gallic Acid from Cornus officinallis)

  • 떫은 맛을 내며 항산화 물질 등으로 알려진 tannin 류의 gallic acid 추출 최적 조건을 검색하기 위해 삼투압, pH, 열처리, 주정 함량을 달리하여 추출 조건 별로 gallic acid 함량을 조사하였다. NaCl 농도를 이용한 삼투압 작용은 gallic acid 추출에 큰 영향을 주지 않는 것으로 사료되며 추출 용매의 pH가 3.0에서 6.0으로 갈수록 gallic acid 함량이 증가하다가 pH 7.0에서 gallic acid 함량이 감소되는 경향을 나타내었다. $80^{\circ}C$에서 다양한 주정 농도로 1시간 동안 환류 추출한 경우 주정의 농도가 높을수록 gallic acid 함량이 유의적으로 증가하였고 산수유 과육을 일정한 온도($37^{\circ}C$)에서 주정 농도 별로 12, 24, 48시간 침지 하여 추출한 결과 침지 시간과 주정 농도가 증가할수록 gallic acid 함량도 증가하였지만 주정의 농도가 70-80% 이후에는 오히려 gallic acid의 추출 효율이 감소되는 경향을 나타내었다. 따라서 산수유로부터 gallic acid 의 추출 최적 조건으로는 산수유 과육을 $37^{\circ}C$에서 침지 시주정 70%로 48시간 추출한 경우 gallic acid 함량이 높았고, 환류 추출의 경우 $80^{\circ}C$에서 주정 100%로 1시간 열처리 하였을 때 상대적으로 gallic acid 함량이 높게 나타났다. 본 실험 결과 산수유 과육으로부터 떫은 맛을 내는 gallic acid의 추출률은 주정의 농도와 온도, 추출 시간에 영향을 받는 것으로 사료된다.

꽃차용 꽃 추출물의 구강위생균에 대한 항균특성 (Antibacterial Activities of Flower Tea Extracts against Oral Bacteria)

  • In this study, we analyzed flower tea activity against oral bacteria. Lagerstroemia indica, Paeonia suffruticosa and Hemerocallis fulva showed high extract yields. Bellis perennis, Punica granatum and Cercis chinensis showed the high rates of yield by ethanol extraction. Extract yield seemed to be related to the characteristics of the specimens rather than to the solvent. Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus obrinus, Porphyromonas gingivalis and Prevotella intermedia were used to investigate extracts activity against bacteria; the former two cause dental caries and the latter two cause halitosis. Cornus officinalis, L. indica, P. granatum and P.s uffruticosa showed high antibacterial activities against S. mutans. In specimens extracted with ethanol, P. suffruticosa, Camellia sinensis, Camellia japonica L. and Rosa hybrida showed high antibacterial activities. L. indica, P. granatum and C. officinalis showed high antibacterial activities against S. sobrinus. C. officinalis, P. granatum, L. indica and P. suffruticosa showed high activities for specimens extracted with ethanol. The results show that the warm extracts of C. officinalis, L. indica and P. granatum may be effective to prevent dental caries. In particular, the ethanol-based extracts of C. officinalis, P. suffruticosa and C. sinensis were effective to prevent dental caries and thus may be highly marketable. Chrysanthemum zawadskii, R. hybrida, P. granatum, C. japonica L. and Zinnia elegans showed high antibacterial activity against P.gingivalis. R. hybrida showed the highest ethanol extract activity, followed by P. suffruticosa, P. granatum, C. japonica L. and L. indica. R. hybrida, P. granatum, C. morifolium and C. japonica showed high activity against Pr.intermedia in the order named. C. zawadskii, P. granatum, L. indica, C. japonica and A. princeps showed high ethanol extract activity. Thus, the warm extracts of R. hybrida, P. granatum and C. japonica may be helpful to reduce halitosis. In addition, the ethanol-based extracts of P. granatum, C. japonica and L. indica are expected to be highly marketable as mouthwashes.

산수유 에텔분획물의 약리작용에 관한 연구 (Pharmacological Studies on Ether Fraction of Corni Fructus)

  • The ether fraction obtained from dry fruit of Cornus officinalis was investigated for the anti-inflammatory action, acute toxicity and central nervous system activities. From several pharmacological examinations, it was found that the ether fraction suppressed considerably carrageenin edema at the dose of 600mg/kg p.o. in rats, inhibited the granuloma formation in rats as given 100mg/kg p.o. for 7 days and decreased the swelling of both of complete adjuvant injected and noninjected (contralateral) paws of the rats at the dose of 100mg/kg p.o. given for 14 days. The $LD_{50}$ of the fraction are estimated to be more than 2,000mg/kg p. o. and 642mg/kg i. p. in mice. And the fraction did not show any sedative, stimulative, analgesic and anticonvulsant action but exhibited hypothermic action. These results might be concluded that the ether fraction of Corni fructus showed anti-inflammatory action in both of acute and chronic type models without any considerable central nervous depressant activity and exhibited very weak acute toxicity in mice.

Characteristics of Gouda cheese supplemented with fruit liquors

  • This study was conducted in order to evaluate the quality characteristics of Gouda cheeses supplemented with fruit liquor (Prunusmume or Cornus officinalis). Fruit liquor was supplemented to Gouda cheeses during preparation. Changes in chemical composition, lactic acid bacterial population, pH, water-soluble nitrogen, sensory characteristics, and proteolysis were monitored in the prepared ripened cheese. The electrophoresis patterns of cheese proteins, fruit liquor functional component concentrations, and the flavonoid content of the cheeses were also determined. The addition of fruit liquor did not affect (p> 0.05) the appearance or sensory characteristics of the cheeses. Higher amounts of crude ash, mineral, and flavonoids (p< 0.05) were observed in the liquor supplemented cheese than in the control cheese. Findings from this study suggest that wine supplemented Gouda could provide additional nutrients while maintaining flavor and quality.

  • Tannin-rich fruit of Cornus officinalis Sieb. et Zucc has been used as an ingredient in several prescriptions of Oriental medicine. Cornis fructus was extracted by successive extraction. Cornis fructus extracts were investigated for antimicrobial and antioxidative activities. Antimicrobial effects used disk diffusion method. All extracts were examined against Streptococcus mutans.
