NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF FLOW CHARACTERISTIC WITH DIFFERENT CORNER RADIUS OF SQUARE CYLINDER

  • The near wake of square section cylinders with different corner radii is studied by numerical method to investigate the influence of corner radius. Eight models, R/D=0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5 (R is the corner radius and D is the characteristic dimension of the body) at Re=500 were studied. The numerical results of St, CD and CL at R/D=0 and R/D=0.5 were compared with experiments to prove the feasibility and also investigate the trend of flow phenomena by the various radius corners. Results indicate that, as R/D ratio is increased, the Strouha lnumber is increased, the minimum pressure point on the cylinder surface moved own stream. The calculated results shows that between R/D=0.15 to R/D=0.3 have CD and CL.

A Corner Matching Algorithm with Uncertainty Handling Capability

  • An efficient corner matching algorithm is developed to minimize the amount of calculation. To reduce the amount of calculation, all available information from a corner detector is used to make model. This information has uncertainties due to discretization noise and geometric distortion, and this is represented by fuzzy rule base which can represent and handle the uncertainties. Form fuzzy inference procedure, a matched segment list is extracted, and resulted segment list is used to calculate the transformation between object of model and scene. To reduce the false hypotheses, a vote and re-vote method is developed. Also an auto tuning scheme of the fuzzy rule base is developed to find out the uncertainties of features from recognized results automatically. To show the effectiveness of the developed algorithm, experiments are conducted for images of real electronic components.

PIV 기법을 이용한 Streamwise Corner 층류 경계층 측정 연구 (Measurement of the Laminar Boundary Layer in a Streamwise Corner by using PIV Technique)

  • 두 개의 평판이 직각으로 만나는 corner에서 형성되는 층류 경계층을 입자영상유속계 기법을 이용하여 측정하였다. 자유류 유속은 2.96 ~ 3.0 m/s, 층류 경계층이 형성 될 수 있도록 모델에 대한 유동의 입사각을 1.2도로 하여 작은 순 압력구배를 제공하였다. 모델의 앞전은 둥근 형상으로 처리하였으며 모델의 길이는 약 1000mm이다. 측정 결과는 이등분면에서 corner 경계층의 전형적인 특징인 변곡점을 가지는 박리형 속도 분포를 보여주었다. 이등분면에서 멀어져 감에 따라 속도 분포는 평판의 Blasius 분포로 변해가고, 이등분면 경계층 두께의 약 절반만큼 평판을 따라 멀어지면 변화가 완료된다. 앞전에서부터 하류로 감에 따라 이등분면에서의 경계층 성장 및 속도 분포의 유사 상사성을 측정 결과로부터 확인하였다.

Optimal Ball-end and Fillet-end Mills Selection for 3-Axis Finish Machining of Point-based Surface

  • This paper presents an algorithm of optimal cutting tool selection for machining of the point-based surface that is defined by a set of surface points rather than parametric polynomial surface equations. As the ball-end and fillet-end mills are generally used for finish machining in a 3-axis computer numerical control machine, the algorithm is applicable for both cutters. The optimum tool would be as large as possible in terms of the cutter radius and/or corner radius which maximise (s) the material removal rate (i.e., minimise (s) the machining time), while still being able to machine the entire point-based surface without gouging any surface point. The gouging are two types: local and global. In this paper, the distance between the cutter bottom and surface points is used to check the local gouging whereas the shortest distance between the surface points and cutter axis is effectively used to check the global gouging. The selection procedure begins with a cutter from the tool library, which has the largest cutter radius and/or corner radius, and then adequacy of the point-density is checked to limit the accuracy of the cutter selection for the point-based surface within tolerance prior to the gouge checking. When the entire surface is gouge-free with a chosen cutting tool then the tool becomes the optimum cutting tool for a list of cutters available in the tool library. The effectiveness of the algorithm is demonstrated considering two examples.

  • 본 논문은 수치영상으로부터 Digital Photogrammetry와 Computer Vision 분야에서 위치결정 및 3차원 정보의 자동추출을 위한 기본단계인 Distinct Point 추출기법중 F rsner interest operate에 관한 연구이다. Gradien에 기초한 Forstner interest operator는 Orientation-invariant의 특징을 가지고 있으며 소정의 Subpixel정확도를 얻을 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 Fostner interest operator에서 얻어진 Comer Points와 Circular Features를 구분하기 위한 방법으로 F-test를 적용하였으며 Nosie가 Forstner interest operator에 미치는 영향을 고찰하였고 실제 사진영상에 Forstner interest operator를 도입하여 실효성에 바탕을 둔 적용 여부를 검증하였다.

Vision Inspection and Correction for DDI Protective Film Attachment

  • DDI(Display Driver IC) are used to drive numerous pixels that make up display. For stable driving of DDI, it is necessary to attach a protective film to shield electromagnetic waves. When the protective film is attached, defects often occur if the film is inclined or the center point is not aligned. In order to minimize such defects, an algorithm for correcting the center point and the inclined angle using camera image information is required. This technology detects the corner coordinates of the protective film by image processing in order to correct the positional defects where the protective film is attached. Corner point coordinates are detected using an algorithm, and center point position finds and correction values are calculated using the detected coordinates. LUT (Lookup Table) is used to quickly find out whether the angle is inclined or not. These algorithms were described by Verilog HDL. The method using the existing software requires a memory to store the entire image after processing one image. Since the method proposed in this paper is a method of scanning by adding a line buffer in one scan, it is possible to scan even if only a part of the image is saved after processing one image. Compared to those written in software language, the execution time is shortened, the speed is very fast, and the error is relatively small.

컬러비와 거리비를 이용한 교통표지판 영역추출 (Traffic Sign Area Detection by using Color Rate and Distance Rate)

  • 본 논문에서는 컬러 정보인 컬러비와 형태학적 정보인 코너점 및 거리비를 이용한 교통표지판 영역추출 시스템을 제안한다. R G, B 성분들의 컬러비를 기반으로 생성한 이진영상에 대해서 불림 연산처리와 마스크를 이용한 코너점 및 중심점 검출에 의해 후보영역을 추출한다. 다양한 형태의 교통표지판 영역은 후보영역의 중심점을 기준으로 형태학적 정보인 거리비를 이용하여 추출한다. 실험결과, 제안한 시스템은 크기 및 위치에 불변하며, 삼각형, 원, 역삼각형, 사각형 등의 다양한 교통표지판과 밝기값의 차이가 큰 낮과 밤 영상에 대해서도 정확한 영역추출이 가능하였다. 또한, 높은 정확성과 빠른 처리속도를 보였다.

수리 형태학과 인간의 시각적 개념을 이용한 최적의 코너 점 추출을 위한 연구 (A Study on Detecting Optimal Corner Points using Morphology and Human Visual Concept)

  • 코너 점(Corner point)은 영상 신호 처리의 패턴 인식에 있어 아주 중요한 정보이다 그래서 지금도 여러 가지 코너 점을 추출하는 연구가 진행되고 있다. 코너 점은 에지 영상에서 8 방향 체인 코드(Chain code)를 적용하여 찾는다. 그런데 에지 선분 기울기가 45도의 정수 배가 되지 않을 때, 8 방향 알고리듬을 그대로 적용하면 문제가 발생된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 단점을 보완하면서 최적의 코너 점을 찾기 위해서 수리 형태학과 시각적 개념을 접목하여 코너 점을 처리하는 새로운 알고리듬을 제안한다. 제안한 방법으로 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 하여 좋은 결과를 보이고 있다. 그래서 제안된 논문의 알고리듬은 공장 자동화 및 선박 레이더 영상의 해안의 영역 파악에도 적용되리라 생각된다.

Interest Point Detection Using Hough Transform and Invariant Patch Feature for Image Retrieval

  • This paper presents a new technique for corner shape based object retrieval from a database. The proposed feature matrix consists of values obtained through a neighborhood operation of detected corners. This results in a significant small size feature matrix compared to the algorithms using color features and thus is computationally very efficient. The corners have been extracted by finding the intersections of the detected lines found using Hough transform. As the affine transformations preserve the co-linearity of points on a line and their intersection properties, the resulting corner features for image retrieval are robust to affine transformations. Furthermore, the corner features are invariant to noise. It is considered that the proposed algorithm will produce good results in combination with other algorithms in a way of incremental verification for similarity.

  • This paper presents 3D position estimation algorithm with the images of 2D vision sensors which issues Red Laser Slit light and recieves the line images. Since the sensor usually measures 2D position of corner(or edge) of a body and the measured point is not fixed in the body, the additional information of the corner(or edge) is used. That is, corner(or edge) line is straight and fixed in the body. For the body which moves in a plane, the Transformation matrix between the body coordinate and the reference coordinate is analytically found. For the 3D motion body, linearization technique and least mean squares method are used.
