U-City includes various information devices and network techniques, which connect among several information devices. Integrated Management Center, which is the core element of u-City, is designed to manage all services of u-City and carry out the control function for a city. Accordingly, u-City needs the methods of user authentication and security, so these methods must be implemented to integrated management center. This paper is devoted to describe some conventional authentication techniques, and authentication methods and procedures that may be available to u-City network context. Proposed u-City integrated authentication model assigns IP to only right user after authenticating information terminals and users in u-City and authorizes users according to the policy, so this model plays an important role for the security of integrated management center.

The core of contents monetization is the consumer's willingness to pay. In the past, the terrestrial contents can be used through the frequency for free. As the terrestrial contents use via online services has been increased, the importance of willingness to pay for the broadcasting contents is getting bigger. To find critical factors which can influence on the willingness to pay for the terrestrial contents, independent factors are categorized into three. The independent factors are users' awareness for copyright protection, contents characteristics, and platform characteristics. The results show that attitude for paying, subjective norms for copyright protection, rapid providing of contents, quality of service, social critical point, and expected service value are found out as significant factors. This result implies that it is necessary to enhance platform competitiveness to survive in convergence environment and customer relationships should be reinforced to maintain them as loyal customers.

Technical documents are important research outputs generated by knowledge and information society. In order to properly use the technical documents properly, it is necessary to utilize advanced information processing techniques, such as summarization and information extraction. In this paper, to extract core information, we automatically extracted the terminologies and their definition based on definitional sentences patterns and the structure of technical documents. Based on this, we proposed the system to build a specialized terminology dictionary. And further we suggested the personalized services so that users can utilize the terminology dictionary in various ways as an knowledge memory. The results of this study will allow users to find up-to-date information faster and easier. In addition, providing a personalized terminology dictionary to users can maximize the value, usability, and retrieval efficiency of the dictionary.

For assessment of U-Eco City technologies, more concrete definition of those technologies are required. However, almost researches defined technologies as conceptually and even cannot include all of them. In this sense, the purpose of this study is to deduct assessing items for specifying applying priority of U-Eco City technologies. We performed the research by 3 steps. Firstly, we deduct assessing items of the technologies by researching their advance process. After then, we compensate the defect of those items through documentary research and made a periodic table about core technologies that can be useful for deducting long-term items. The assessing items what are deducted as a result of this study can be applied to the selection of technology, and will be useful to construct more objective and systematized U-Eco City. Furthermore, if assessment frame about technologies and services is developed from this research, it gives to us probability that standardized process of U-Eco City construction can be established.

The purpose of this study is to develop an evaluation indicator of institutional repositories to be used by participating university libraries of dCollection. Based on the literature reviews of digital library evaluation, core evaluation measures and criteria were identified. In order to verify the applicability and appropriateness of those evaluation criteria for institutional repositories, two methods were employed: A case study with sixteen university libraries and a Delphi study with twenty university libraries. The results of both studies led the development of an evaluation model which consisted of four evaluation dimensions and 29 criteria. This evaluation model should be utilized as tools for objective assessment and guidelines for improving institutional repository services by universities libraries in which the dCollection is currently Implemented or the future plan of the dCollection is underway.

Along with the advance of USN technology in a human-oriented informatization society these days, society is quickly changing into a ubiquitous computing society in which information even between objects can be organically combined and utilized. In order to successfully build such a ubiquitous computing society, it is indispensable to have core USN technologies such as USN sensor nodes, sensor networks, USN middleware, and USN applied services that efficiently manage sensing information collected from sensor nodes, and support the abstraction function for the composition of sensor networks. In order to process the transmission event of sensing values that are generated from various USN terminal devices, this study designs a process that performs the abstraction of data for the efficient process of diverse sensing values transferred from USN and RFID terminal devices.

With high interest in the patient satisfaction of emergency medical services, there is a lot of effort into improving the process of Emergency Department(ED) utilizing the technology of Internet of Things(IoT). In this study, the core technologies of smart ED are examined and a decision support algorithm for medicine tasks is proposed. The proposed algorithm minimizes the decision risks such as task selection accountability, patient complaints, care delays and longer stay time. It can reduce the nurses burnout and improve the patient care with kindness and consideration. Ultimately, patient satisfaction, job satisfaction and professional identity of nurses can be increased. The comparative study was carried out by simulation in terms of the average length of patient stay in a simplified hypothetical ED system. In all the cases, the proposed algorithm was shown to perform substantially better than the other rule.

An automobile black box can provide sufficient and accurate information for investigating the causes of vehicle accidents as well as preventing them in the future. The database of accident information from stored data in the black box can provide a variety of services to the general public when it is accessed in a reasonable manner. minimizing intrusion into drivers' privacy. Therefore, the black box could become the main intelligent automobile Part, with extensive benefits for all associated industries as well as government agencies and insurance companies. While the introduction and spread of the black box are imminent in Korea, this paper reviews technology and product trends of the black box. In particular, this paper presents findings on the investigation of black box-related patent applications and an in-depth study of core patents from several leading counties, including the United States. In addition, this paper describes trends of standardization and legislation in leading countries and presents methods of standardization with suggestions for some development topics related to black box technology.

Providing trading partners with personal information to establish an e-commerce financial transaction is inevitable. Most e-commerce companies keep personal information and transaction data for user's convenience and develop additional services as their applications. However, keeping personal information increases the likelihood of identity theft causing direct or indirect damage while it may simplify repetitive financial transactions. This study introduces risk management methods based on quantitative and qualitative analysis including demand-supply curve model and Gordon & Loeb model to analyze the risks for security management. The empirical analysis with survey results from KISA (Korea Information Security Agency) shows that the root cause of different statistics of personal information leakage incidents according to core business of internet companies is the difference in their Loss Expectancy caused by them. Also we suggest disciplinary compensation and higher standard for personal information protection as a solution to prevent the variation of investment on it between individual companies.

Paid membership is a useful marketing method that can acquire long-term customers. This study benchmarked representative overseas memberships, Amazon Prime, Alibaba 88 Membership, and Rakuten Super Point, so that domestic shopping platform companies can refer to launch the paid membership. The membership services have in common: economic benefits, convenient experiences, and discriminatory treatment. Domestic companies should set the core customer value they want to deliver to consumers and organize the benefits so that paid membership can be operated from a long-term perspective. This study has a high practical contribution and it is necessary to conduct an empirical analysis of experts and a customer user survey in the future.
