Sandwich plate structure is widely used in various fields of industry due to its excellent strength and stiffness compared with weight. In this paper, the mechanical behavior of sandwich plate structure with honeycomb core considering buckling is investigated in detail. The focus of the analysis is to evaluate strength and stiffness of the plate structure with critical stress, natural frequency, and mode shapes. The results of this investigation are obtained from detailed finite element analysis for various parameters, such as length, height ratio, and thickness ratio of honeycomb core.

Korean mobile communications industry has been a main locomotive of the drastic development of Korean IT industry and became one of core industries in national economy. To secure strong competitiveness of mobile communications industry, smooth cooperation should be reconsidered among government, universities, research institutions, and private companies. Future mobile communications technology will be evolved from IMT-2000 to system upgrade, 3.5G and 4G. And the goals of technology development are provision of mobile multimedia services based on better mobility and higher data speed rates. Therefore, Korea's technology development strategies of mobile communications should be focused on intensifying bondage of international cooperation, strengthening standardization activities, and enhancing core technology development capability to secure IPR.

This paper examines the change of innovation practices in the Korean industry which is entering into the 'post catching-up regime'. In catching-up regime, the technological loaming practices of Korean firms could be characterized as the assimilation and improvement of foreign technologies through crisis construction and time pressure. Crisis construction and time pressure were the important factors enhancing the intensity of technological teaming and shaping the way of doing imitative innovation. But the innovation patterns of firm are changing. The new ways of doing innovation are emerging in Korean mobile phone industry which is becoming a world leader： the emphasis on the importance of technological planning, the enhancement of collaborative networks among related firms, the toleration on the failure and the effort to acquire core technologies. Though Korean firms have not developed enough capabilities to create basic core technologies, they can develop their competitiveness through creative combination of technologies and are approaching the world frontier.

The Korean construction industry has led the miraculous economic boost of Korea by providing solid domestic infrastructures such as highway, roads, and airports. It also played a critical role in global construction market and eaned more than 500 billions dollars in terms of their accumulated international orders. However, domestic construction market has significantly decreased in recent years due to the domestic political environments and global economic crisis. Therefore, the importance of international construction market cannot be more emphasized to the Korean construction market in order for the sustainable growth. There has been, however, little research in the area of identifying required competency elements for the Korean construction industry to stay successful in the global market. The main purpose of this study is to identify elements of core competency to increase global competitiveness for Korean construction industry. Core global construction competency elements were derived from the internal and external environmental analyses along with the extensive literature review, expert interviews and a survey. This study utilized the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) and a gap analysis in providing insights on the status competitiveness of the Korean construction industry in terms of required global core competency elements. The analysis shows that project management and financial management are the main areas for improvements required to engineering contractors while construction contractors need to take a more balanced approach among technical, project management, and financial management in order to increase their global competencies.

This study examines whether expenditures in information technology (IT) are associated with increases in the Tobin's q ratios a measure of organizational performance. It uses two groups of sample, Korean and American firms that disclose IT expenditures. For the all-firms group of each country, the association between IT expenditures and Tobin's q ratios is positive and statistically significant. But the association varies among industries. For Korean firms, IT expenditures appear to increase Tobin's q ratios for the machine and equipment manufacturing industry group (SIC3-2). IT expenditure ratio of this group as a percent of total sales is highest among the industry groups. For all service industry groups(SIC4&5), the estimated coefficient of IT expenditures is positive but statistically insignificant. For American firms IT expenditures in most of the manufacturing industry groups appear to increase only a little, if at all, for the Tobin's q ratios. But IT expenditures appear to have a greater impact on Tobin's q ratios for all service industries (SIC4-7). For three service industries tested (transportation and telecommunication- SIC4, financial- SIC6, consulting and other service industry- SIC7), the estimated coefficient of IT expenditures is positive and statistically significant. The evidence from both Korean and American firms suggests that IT expenditures in service industries provide a greater impact on an organizational performance than ones in manufacturing industry. To test whether service industries use a competitive strategy utilizing IT as a core competence, the samples ore divided into two groups, service and manufacturing industry. For Korean firms, both IT and R&D expenditures in manufacturing industry are associated with increases in Tobin's q ratios. But for service industry, the estimated coefficient of only IT expenditure is positive. For American firms, the estimated coefficients of both IT and advertising and R&D (ARD) expenditures in manufacturing industry are positive but the coefficient of only ARD is statistically significant. For service industry, the estimated coefficient of only IT expenditure is positive and statistically significant. The evidence may suggest that manufacturing industry uses both R&D and IT strategies to increase a competitive advantage but uses R&D strategy as a core competence. However, service industry uses IT strategy as a core competence to increase a competitive advatage.

The characteristics of the spectrum, which are necessary for mobile telecommunication services, may determine the advantage of operators' competition for mobile services. We have a focus on the possibility that there would be the core spectrum within the frequencies. We define the core spectrum of frequencies in terms of 4 criteria (global source/roaming, cost-effectiveness, the experience of utilization and the possibility of use). They are based on the aspects of applicative and economic effectiveness by not technological and but market conditions. We have explored the current core spectrum by using the stepwise selection from these criteria. Our result indicates that the core spectrum may be movable with the development of technology and the flow of time. The results of this paper could be practically used as the reasonable justifications of the policies for not only the competition management but also the alignment about the frequencies for mobile telecommunication.

Recently, plastic materials have become more diversified, and the development of materials with excellent mechanical properties and plasticity has enabled wider application, miniaturization, and refinement of injection molded products. As a result, the utilization of these products in household goods, electronics, automotive parts, and aircraft parts is increasing in almost all industries. Injection molded parts are often used externally on finished commercial products. This means that the injection mold industry is very important to the value of these products. For this reason, the industry is performing research on the precision and efficiency of the injection molding process. In this study, we investigated the applicability of the core in core cooling method to the problem of product deformation due to temperature variation in existing injection mold designs. We also characterized the cooling performance of an injection mold when using this cooling method.

Sandwich structure is widely used in various fields of industry due to its excellent strength and stiffness compared with weight. We studied the buckling and bending behavior with respect to the variation of design parameters such as length, height, and thickness of honeycomb sandwich core. We found that as the density and the thickness of core become higher, the value of critical bucking load increased significantly. We found that the effect of bending stress due to critical buckling load resulted in high bending stress and the value of bending stress decreased in half according to the increase of length of core. The effect by bending stress is dominant above the portion of the intersection line between bending stress and the effect of buckling is dominant below the potion of it. We could get proper thickness ratio and density of core according to applied load conditions.

Thus, we provide suggestions and implications for hospitality and tourism industry stakeholders to increase core values and business performance and create sustainable competitive advantages over other market players through VR and metaverse.
