An experiment was conducted for the OECD/NEA ROSA-2 Project using the large-scale test facility (LSTF), which simulated a 17% hot leg intermediate-break loss-of-coolant accident in a pressurized water reactor (PWR). In the LSTF test, core uncovery started simultaneously with liquid level drop in crossover leg downflow-side before loop seal clearing, and water remaining occurred on the upper core plate in the upper plenum. Results of the uncertainty analysis with RELAP5/MOD3.3 code clarified the influences of the combination of multiple uncertain parameters on peak cladding temperature within the defined uncertain ranges. For studying the scaling problems to extrapolate thermal-hydraulic phenomena observed in scaled-down facilities, an experiment was performed for the OECD/NEA PKL-3 Project with the Primarkreislaufe Versuchsanlage (PKL), as a counterpart to a previous LSTF test. The LSTF test simulated a PWR 1% hot leg small-break loss-of-coolant accident with steam generator secondary-side depressurization as an accident management measure and nitrogen gas inflow. Some discrepancies appeared between the LSTF and PKL test results for the primary pressure, the core collapsed liquid level, and the cladding surface temperature probably due to effects of differences between the LSTF and the PKL in configuration, geometry, and volumetric size.
An experiment using the $Prim{\ddot{a}}rkreisl{\ddot{a}}ufe$ Versuchsanlage (PKL) was performed for the OECD/NEA PKL-3 Project as a counterpart to a previous test with the large-scale test facility (LSTF) on a cold leg smallbreak loss-of-coolant accident with an accident management (AM) measure in a pressurized water reactor. Concerning the AM measure, the rate of steam generator (SG) secondary-side depressurization was controlled to achieve a primary depressurization rate of 200 K/h as a common test condition; however, the onset timings of the SG depressurization were different from each other. In both tests, rapid recovery started in the core collapsed liquid level after loop seal clearing, which caused whole core quench. Some discrepancies appeared between the LSTF and PKL test results for the core collapsed liquid level, the cladding surface temperature, and the primary pressure. The RELAP5/MOD3.3 code predicted the overall trends of the major thermal-hydraulic responses observed in the LSTF test well, and indicated a remaining problem in the prediction of primary coolant distribution. Results of uncertainty analysis for the LSTF test clarified the influences of the combination of multiple uncertain parameters on peak cladding temperature within the defined uncertain ranges.

This paper describes a design of a lightweight security system-on-chip (SoC) suitable for the implementation of security protocols for IoT and mobile devices. The security SoC using Cortex-M0 as a CPU integrates hardware crypto engines including an elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) core, a SHA3 hash core, an ARIA-AES block cipher core and a true random number generator (TRNG) core. The ECC core was designed to support twenty elliptic curves over both prime field and binary field defined in the SEC2, and was based on a word-based Montgomery multiplier in which the partial product generations/additions and modular reductions are processed in a sub-pipelining manner. The H/W-S/W co-operation for elliptic curve digital signature algorithm (EC-DSA) protocol was demonstrated by implementing the security SoC on a Cyclone-5 FPGA device. The security SoC, synthesized with a 65-nm CMOS cell library, occupies 193,312 gate equivalents (GEs) and 84 kbytes of RAM.

A steam generator in nuclear power plant is a heatexchager which is used to convert water into steam from heat produced in a nuclear reactor core, and the steam produced in steam generator is delivered to the turbine to generate electricity. Because of damage to steam generator tubing may impair its ability to adequately perform required safety functions in terms of both structural integrity and leakage integrity, eddy current testing is periodically performed to evaluate the integrity of tubes in steam generator. This assessment is normally performed during a reactor refueling outage. Currently, the eddy current testing for steam generator of nuclear power plant in Korea is performed in accordance with KEPIC & ASME Code requirements, the eddy current testing system is consists of remote data acquisition unit and data analysis program to evaluate the acquired data. The KEPIC & ASME Code require that the electrical properties of remote data acquisition unit, such as total harmonic distortion, input & output impedance, amplifier linearity & stability, phase linearity, bandwidth & demodulation filter response, analog-to-digital conversion, and channel crosstalk shall be measured in accordance with the KEPIC & ASME Code requirements. In this paper, the measurement requirements of electrical properties for eddy current testing instrument described in KEPIC & ASME Code are presented, and the measurement results of newly developed eddy current testing instrument by KHNP(Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., LTD) are presented.

Creep rupture data for Alloy 690 steam generator tubes in a pressurized water reactor are essentially needed to demonstrate a severe accident scenario on thermally-induced tube failures caused by hot gases in a damaged reactor core. The rupture data were obtained using the tube specimens under different applied-stress levels at 650℃, 700℃, 750℃, 800℃, and 850℃. Important creep constants were proposed using various creep laws in terms of Norton power law, Monkman-Grant (M-G) relation, damage tolerance factor (λ), and Zener-Hollomon parameter (Z). In addition, a creep activation energy (Q) value for Alloy 690 tube was reasonably determined using experimental data. Creep behaviors such as creep strength, creep rates, rupture elongation showed the results of temperature dependence well. Modified M-G plot improved a correlation of the creep rate and rupture life. Damage tolerance factor for Alloy 690 tubes was found to be λ =2.20 in an average value. Creep activation energy for Alloy 690 tube was optimized for Q=350 (kJ/mol). A plot of Z parameter obeyed a good linearity, and the same creep mechanism was inferred to be operative in the present test conditions.
Software development process consists of five phases : requirement, analysis, design, implementation and testing. There is almost always a gap between the system design and implementation stages, caused by a combination of the difficulty of programming and frequent changes on the system design. The goal of this paper is to reduce the gap between system design and implementation, and we design a tool producing a application program by recognizing business logic for a more rapid and flexible developing of software. The core idea of Application Program Generator is : firstly, to recognize that business application in the same domain share business logic and presentation logic : secondly, to treat system design as persistent meta-data ; thirdly, to use the persistent meta-data to build or customize applications as required.
This paper presents the development of an end-to-end numerical simulator for signal design of the next generation global navigation satellite system (GNSS). The GNSS services are an essential element of modern human life, becoming a core part of national infra-structure. Several countries are developing or modernizing their own positioning and timing system as their demand, and South Korea is also planning to develop a Korean Positioning System (KPS) based on its own technology, with the aim of operation in 2034. The developed simulator consists of three main units such as a signal generator, a channel unit, and a receiver. The signal generator is constructed based on the actual navigation satellite payload model. For channels, a simple Gaussian channel and land mobile satellite (LMS) multipath channel environments are implemented. A software receiver approach based on a commercial GNSS receiver model is employed. Through the simulator proposed in this paper, it is possible to simulate the entire transceiver chain process from signal generation to receiver processing including channel effect. Finally, numerical simulation results for a simple example scenario is analyzed. The use of the numerical signal simulator in this paper will be ideally suited to design a new navigation signal for the upcoming KPS by reducing the research and development efforts, tremendously.
In order to develop the commercial frequency (60Hz) plasma torch of small capacity for material cutting, welding and other industrial heating, the A.C plasma jet generator of non-transfered type is made domestically and the electrode configurations of plasma torch are composed of two kinds of electrodes W-C and W-Cu, combined by thermal emission and field emission electrode materials. In this paper, the characteristics of input power, thermal efficiency, electrode consumption, the flame and forms of arc voltage and arc current for A.C plasma torch are investigated in relation to such variables as arc current, argon flow and magnetic field intensity to obtain the basic design data necessary to A.C plasma jet generator. The result are as follows; (1)The input power, thermal efficiency and electrode consumption are influenced greatly by argon flow, magnetic field intensity and nozzle materials. (2)A.C arc voltage and current are non-symmetrial, involving D.C Component. Due to this current of D.C Component, transformer core is saturated and a large abnormal current flows into the primary winding coil. In order to prevent this abnormal current flow, a condenser must be connected in series to the main discharge circuit. (3)The stability and sharpness of jet flame are improved more in the torch of W-C electrode configuration than in the torch of W-Cu electrode configuration.

The trend of compact size, light weight, low power consumption in the portable telecommunication equipments demands large scale integration and low voltage operation of chips and the minimization of the number of the components in the telecommunication terminal. According to the trend, existing chip components are modulized and are integrated as a part into a bigger chip. This paper is about the development of the peripheral units of micro-controller for mobile telecommunication terminal. Peripherals consist of DMA controller, Interrupt controller, timer, watchdog timer, clock generator, and power management unit. They are designed to be integrated with EU(Execution Unit) and BIU(Bus Interface Unit) into a 16 bit micro-controller which will be used as a core of an ASIC for next generation digital mobile telecommunication terminal. At first, whole block of the micro-controller was described by VHDL behavioral model and simulated to verify its overall operation. Then, watchdog timer, clock generator and power management unit were directly synthesized by using VHDL synthesis tool. Rest of the pheriperal units were designed and simulated by using Compass Design Tool.
