도재소부용 금합금의 열처리에 따른 기계적 성질 및 미세조직 변화에 관한 연구 (A Study on Changes of Mechanical Properties and Microstructure in Porcelain Fused to Gold Alloys by Heat Treatment)

  • The purpose of this study was to observe the change of mechanical property and microstructure in porcelain fused to gold alloy by heat treatment. PFG alloys are composed with Au-Pd-Ag alloy of the additional elements with indium, tin and copper. Specimens were tested in hardness using vicker,s micro-hardness tester and the surface micro structural changes were analysed by SEM and EDS. The results were as fellows: 1. The vickers hardness showed highest in Au-Pd-Ag alloy of the additional element with tin. 2. By hardening-oxiding result, the vicker,s hardness increased in additional element with tin but there was no significant difference in additional elements with indium and copper. 3. The surface oxide layer of Au-Pd-Ag alloy with added indium and tin increased but there was small change in additional element with copper. 4. The elements of indium and tin increased with increasing heat treatment in the surface alloy.

이속압연에 의해 가공된 Cu-Ni-Si 합금의 미세 조직 및 기계적 성질 (Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Cu-Ni-Si Alloy Deformed by Differential Speed Rolling)

  • Effects of conventional rolling(CR) and differential speed rolling(DSR) on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Cu-Ni-Si alloy were investigated in detail. The copper alloy with thickness of 3 mm was rolled to 50 % reduction at ambient temperature without lubricant with a differential speed ratio of 2:1. The conventional rolling in which the rolling speed of upper and lower rolls is identical was performed under identical rolling conditions. The shear strain introduced by the CR showed positive values at positions of upper roll side and negative values at positions of lower roll side. However, it showed zero or positive values at all positions for the samples rolled by the DSR. The microstrucure and texture development of the as-rolled copper alloy did not show any significant difference between CR and DSR. The tensile strength of the DSR processed specimen was larger than that of the CR processed specimen. The effects of rolling methods on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the as-rolled copper alloy are discussed in terms of the shear strain.

  • 액체로켓 연소기 재생냉각 챔버의 제작에 사용되는 구리합금의 성형한계 곡선을 얻기 위하여 돔 장출 시험과 인장시험을 수행하였다. 성형한계 곡선에 대한 실험적인 연구를 위하여 인장시편을 사용하여 인장-압축 변형률 상태의 데이터를 얻었으며, 인장-인장의 변형률 상태를 얻기 위하여 돔 장출 시험용 시편을 사용한 돔 장출 시험 또한 수행하였다. 시험에 사용한 모든 시편은 제작방법에 따라 종 방향과 횡 방향시편으로 구분하였다. 시험 결과 인장-인장 변형률 상태에서 최대 주 변형률과 부 변형률은 62.3%와 58.6%이며 인장-압축 상태에서는 60.5%와 25.8%로 나타났다.

무산소동의 마찰 용접 특성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Frition Welding Characteristics of Oxygen Free High Conductivity Copper)

  • Copper and its alloy had been used widely because of its pronouncing characteristics on their high thermal and electrical conductivity. Various fusion welding methods, such as SMAW, SAW, GTAW, GMAW, Electroslag welding amd so on are applied to weld copper and its alloy. But fusion welding of copper has so many welding problems. THe most serious problems were poor penetration amd high thermal contration stress due to its high thermal conductivity and porosity could be formed by rapid cooling rate of fusion welding. In order to avoid such fusion welding problems, preheating, peering and heat treatment must be applied to obtain sound weld joint of copper. But preheating induce another welding problem such as grain coarsening of weld heat affected zone. This grain coarsening reduces ductility and strength of weld joint. In this view of point, friction welding of copper is triedm to obtain sound weld joint of copper by reducing metallurgical problems. This study introduced new concept of heat input for evaluating the friction weldability of copper. As a result, weldability of copper could be evaluated by this new concept of heat input.

A copper alloy with thickness of 3 mm was rolled to a 50% reduction at ambient temperature without lubrication with a differential speed ratio of 2:1; sample was then annealed for 0.5h at various temperatures from 100 to $800^{\circ}C$. Conventional rolling, in which the rolling speed of the upper and lower rolls is identical, was performed under the same rolling conditions. The shear strain introduced by the CR showed positive values at positions on the upper roll side and negative values at positions on the lower roll side. However, the shear strain showed a zero or positive value at all positions for the samples rolled by the DSR. The microstrucure and mechanical properties of the as-rolled copper alloy did not show very significant differences between the CR and DSR for the microstructure and mechanical properties. However, those properties showed very significant differences in the case of the annealed samples. The effects of rolling method on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the as-rolled and subsequently annealed materials are discussed in terms of the shear strain.

Friction Stir Spot Welding of AA5052 Aluminum Alloy and C11000 Copper Lap Joint

  • The article aims to apply a friction stir spot welding for producing the lap joint between AA5052 aluminum alloy and C11000 copper alloy. The dimension of the materials was 100 mm in length, 30 mm in width and 1.0 mm in thickness. The copper plate was set overlap the aluminum plate by 30 mm. The welding parameter was the rotating speed of 2500-4000 rpm, the pin inserting rate of 2-8 mm/min and the holding time of 6 sec. The mechanical properties test and the microstructure investigation were performed to evaluate the lap joint quality. The summarized results are as follows. The friction stir spot welding could produce effectively the lap joint between AA5052 and C11000 copper. Increase of the rotating speed and holding time directly affected to decrease the tensile shear strength of the lap joint. The optimized welding parameters in this study that indicated the tensile shear strength of 864 N was the rotating speed of 3500 rpm, the pin inserting rate of 6 mm/min and the holding time of 4sec. The experimental results also showed that the hardness of the weld metal was lower than that of the base materials.

  • 재사용 발사체용으로 개발되는 엔진은 반복 사용 조건에 따른 저사이클 열피로 문제를 고려해야 한다. 본 연구는 연소기 재생냉각채널에 사용되는 구리합금의 피로수명을 인장시험 데이터로부터 예측하기 위하여 기존의 연구자들이 제안하였던 수명예측식을 다양한 종류의 구리합금의 경우에 적용하여 비교하였다. 제안된 수명예측식 중 공통경사법은 구리합금의 수명 예측에서 가장 좋은 결과를 보여 주었으며, 수정 Mitchell 방법은 OFHC 구리의 수명 예측에서 가장 좋은 결과를 보여주었다.

  • 최근 금속자원 재활용과 환경보호에 대한 기술적 필요성에 의해 구리(Cu)를 주성분으로 하는 동합금으로부터 니켈, 주석 등의 유가금속 분리/회수에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 동합금에 포함된 유가금속들을 분리/회수하는 기초연구중 하나로서, 킬레이트 수지를 이용하여 동합금 제련시 발생하는 부산물에 포함되어 있는 대표적인 유가금속인 니켈(Ni)을 분리/추출할 수 있는 농축 공정의 가능성에 대해 검토하였다. 킬레이트 수지는 원자량이 높은 $Cu^{2+}$ 이온을 $Ni^{2+}$ 이온보다 선택적으로 흡수하였으며, 이러한 과정을 수차례 반복함으로써 실제 동합금 부산물 샘플의 $Ni^{2+}$$Cu^{2+}$ 이온을 농축할 수 있었으며, XRF 분석을 통하여 각각 70 % 및 99 %의 농도로 분리할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Etchant for Dissolving Thin Layer of Ag-Cu-Au Alloy

  • As to the reflection electrode of LCD (liquid crystal displays), silver-copper-gold alloy (hereafter, it is called as ACA (Ag98%, Cu1%, Au1%)) is an effective material of which weathering resistance can be improved more compared with pure silver. However, there is a problem that gold remains on the substrate as residues when ACA is etched in cerium ammonium nitrate solution or phosphoric acid. Gold can not be etched in these etchants as readily as the other two alloying elements. Gold residue has actually been removed physically by brushing etc. This procedure causes damage to the display elements. Another etchant of iodine/potassium iodide generally known as one of the gold etchants can not give precise etch pattern because of remarkable difference in etching rates among silver, copper and gold. The purpose of this research is to obtain a practical etchant for ACA alloy. The results are as follows. The cyanogen complex salt of gold generates when cyanide is used as the etchant, in which gold dissolves considerably. Oxygen reduction is important as the cathodic reaction in the dissolution of gold. A new etchant of sodium cyanide / potassium ferricyanide whose cathodic reduction is stronger than oxygen, can give precise etch patterns in ACA alloy swiftly at room temperature.
