CeO2 코팅을 통한 Cu 입자의 입성장 억제 효과에 관한 연구 (Effect of CeO2 Coating on the Grain Growth of Cu Particles)

  • Copper is able to work as a current collector under wide range of hydrocarbon fuels without coking in Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). The application of copper in SOFC is limited due to its low melting point, which result in coarsening the copper particle. This work focuses on the sintering of copper powder with ceria coating layer. Ceria-coated powder was prepared by thermal decomposition of urea in $Ce(NO_3)_3\cdot6H_2O$ solution, which containing CuO core particles. The ceria-coated powder was characterized by XRD, ICP, and SEM. The thermal stability of the ceria-coated copper in fuel atmosphere $(H_2)$ was observed by SEM. It was found that the ceria coating layer could effectively hinder the grain growth of the copper particles.

  • The effect of different thermal treatments on the sub-50 nm copper nanoparticles is examined in the aspects of chemical, electrical and surface morphology. The copper nanoparticles are chemically synthesized and fabricated for paste-type solution. Simple bar coating method is practiced as a deposition process to form copper thin film on a typical slide glass. Deposited copper thin films are annealed by two different routes: general tube furnace with 99.99 % Ar atmosphere and selective laser sintering process. The thermal behavior of the different thermal-treated copper thin films is compared by SEM, XRD, FT-IR and XPS analysis. In this study, the laser sintering process ensures low annealing temperature, fast working speed and ambient-accessible route. Moreover, the laser-sintered copper thin film shows good electrical property and enhanced chemical stability than conventional thermal annealing process. Consequently, the proposed laser sintering process can be compatible with plastic substrate for flexible applications.

  • 염산계 에칭폐액으로부터 추출제로 Alamine336(Tri-n-octylamine)을 이용하여 용매추출법에 의해 구리를 회수하기 위한 연구를 행하였다. 주요 실험변수로는 염산농도 및 염소이온농도, 추출제의 농도, 유기상과 수용액상(폐액상)의 상비 등 구리이온의 추출에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 인자들에 대하여 실험을 하엿는데, 이 실험결과 추출제의 농도 및 상비가 구리의 추출에 큰영향을 미침을 알 수 있었고 또한 수용액상의 염산 및 염소이온의 농도가 증가할수록 구리의 추출률이 증가하였다. 한편 McCabe-Thiele diagram으로부터 구리성분의 연속추출공정에 필요한 이론적인 추출단수를 결정하였다. 유기상으로 추출된 구리성분은 탈거제로 물($H_2$O)을 사용함으로써 효율적으로 탈거가 가능하였고 탈거제의 온도가 증가할수록 구리성분의 탈거율은 증가하였다.

  • The effects of plasma treatment on the surfaces of the FR-4 (Flame Resistant-4) and copper substrates are investigated in terms of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), contact angle, and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The adhesion strengths of the underfills/FR-4 substrate and underfills/copper substrate are also studied. As experimental results, the plasma treatments of FR-4 and copper substrate surfaces yield several oxygen complexes in hydrophilic surfaces, which can play an important role in increasing the surface polarity, wettability, and adhesion characteristics of the underfills/substrates.

  • Effects of various pretreatments on the adhesion of copper-coated polymer films were investigated. Copper-coated polymer films were prepared by an electron cyclotron resonance-metal organic chemical vapor deposition (ECR-MOCVD) coupled with a DC bias system at room temperature. PET(polyethylene terephthalate) film was employed as a substrate material and it was pretreated by industrially feasible methods such as chromic acid, sand-blasting, oxygen plasma and ion-implantation treatment. Surface characterization of the copper-coated polymer film was carried out by AFM(Atomic Force Microscopy) and FESEM(Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy). Surface energy was calculated by based on the value of the contact angle measured. The adhesion of copper/PET films was determined by a pull-off test according to ASTM D-5179. It was found that suitable pretreatment of the PET substrate was required for obtaining good adhesion property between copper films and the substrate. In this study the highest adhesion was observed in sand-blasting, and then followed by those of acid and oxygen plasma treatment. However, the effect of surface energy was insignificant in our experimental range. This is probably due to compensating the difference in surface energy from various pretreatments by exposing substrate to ECR plasma for 5 min or longer at the early stage of the copper deposition. Therefore, it can be concluded that surface roughness of the polymer substrate plays an important role to determine the adhesion of copper-coated polymer for the deposition of copper by ECR-MOCVD.

알코올 섭취와 흡연이 혈청 구리, 아연과 Nitric Oxide에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Smoking and Alcohol Intake on Copper, Zinc, and Nitiric Oxide Concentration in Serum)

  • To investigate the change of nitric oxide(NO), copper, and zinc in serum on smoking and alcohol ingestion in young adults, this study was performed in a cross-sectional study in 127 healthy men in Korea who had HBsAg(-), HCVAb(-), and no symptomatic liver, heart, gastrointestinal, chronic diseases, and inflammatory sign(lower than 10,000 white blood cell count in CBC). At the men's entry into the study, blood samples were drawn from each subject and immediately centrifuged for analysis of NO, copper, and zinc. Each man completed a questionnaire that provided information on smoking, alcohol intake and present and past medical history NO was analyzed by HPLC(Green et al., 1982), copper and zinc by atomic absorption spectrophotometer with air-acetylene flame and total cholesterol(TC) by Spectrum EPX. Smoking(number of cigarettes per day and pack-year) and alcohol intake was grouped fertile. Copper was adjusted for age and zinc and for age and TC. NO, copper, and zinc on smoking and alcohol ingestion were analyzed in general linear models, respectively. NO, copper and zinc in serum did not show statistical differences between non-smoking and high-smoking group and no-alcohol intake and high-alcohol intake group. This study suggested that copper, zinc, and NO was not. good biological marker for early effect by smoking and alcohol intake in young adults. However, selection bias should be considered in evaluation of this result. A large prospective study will be needed in advance on usefulness of copper, zinc, and NO as a marker for risk factors and early change of atherosclerosis.

Simultaneous Removal of Cadmium and Copper from a Binary Solution by Cathodic Deposition Using a Spiral-Wound Woven Wire Meshes Packed Bed Rotating Cylinder Electrode

  • Spiral-wound woven wire meshes packed bed rotating cylinder electrode was used for the simultaneous removal of cadmium (Cd) and copper (Cu) from a binary solution. The effects of weight percent of each metal on the removal and current efficiencies were studied at an operating current of 345A, while the effect of current on the removal efficiency of both metals was investigated at three levels of current (240, 345.and 400 mA). The experiments were carried out at constant rotation speed 800 rpm, pH = 3, and a total concentration of metals (500 ppm). The results showed that the removal efficiency of copper increased from 89% to 99.4% as its weight percent increased from 20% to100%. In a similar fashion, the removal efficiency of cadmium increased from 81% to 97% as its weight percent increased from 20% to100%. The results confirmed that the removal efficiency of any metals declined in the presence of the other. Increasing of current resulted in increasing the removal efficiency of both metals at different weight percents. The results confirmed that current efficiencies for removing of copper and cadmium simultaneously decline with increasing of electrolysis time and weight percent of cadmium or with decreasing the weight percent of copper. Current efficiency was higher at the initial stage of electrolysis for all weight percents of metals. The results showed that the decay of copper concentration was exponential at all weight percents of copper, confirming that the electrodeposition of copper is under mass transfer control in the presence of cadmium. While the decay of cadmium concentration was linear at lower weight percent of cadmium then changed to an exponential behavior at high weight percent of cadmium in the presence of copper.

  • This research studied the electrical characteristics, IR transmission characteristics, stealth functions, and thermal characteristics of infrared thermal-imaging cameras of copper-sputtered samples. Nylon samples were prepared for each density as a base material for copper-sputtering treatment. Copper-sputtered NFi, NM1, NM2, NM3, NM4, and NM5, showed electrical resistance of 0.8, 445.7, 80.7, 29.7, 0.3, and 2.2 Ω, respectively, all of which are very low values; for the mesh sample, the lower the density, the lower the electrical resistance. Measuring the IR transmittance showed that the infrared transmittance of the copper-sputtered samples was significantly reduced compared to the untreated sample. Compared to the untreated samples, the transmittance went from 92.0-64.1%. When copper sputtered surface was directed to the IR irradiator, the IR transmittance went from 73.5 to 43.8%. As the density of the sample increased, the transmittance tended to decreased. After the infrared thermal imaging, the absolute values of △R, △G, and △B of the copper phase increased from 2 to 167, 98 to 192, and 7 to 118, respectively, and the closer the density of the sample (NM5→NFi), the larger the absolute value. This proves that the dense copper phase-up sample has a stealth effect on the infrared thermal imaging camera. It is believed that the copper-sputtered nylon samples produced in this study have applications in multifunctional uniforms, bio-signal detection sensors, stage costumes, etc.

프로피온산의 혐기성 분해시 구리의 저해 효과 (Inhibitory Effects of Copper on the Anaerobic Degradation of Propionate)

  • 프로피온산의 혐기성 분해시 구리의 잠재적인 저해효과를 평가하기 위하여 회분식 실험을 수행하였다 프로피온산의 혐기성 분해시 구리의 저해효과는 중간 생성물, 최종 메탄 수율 및 비메탄 활성도를 이용하여 평가하였다. 구리의 농도 $2.5mg\;Cu^{2+}/1$에서는 저해 현상이 거의 발생하지 않았으나. 농도 증가에 따라 저해효과가 점차 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 최종 메탄 발생량 및 비메탄 활성도를 이용하여 산정한 50% 저해농도는 각각 33.8 및 $24.1mg\;Cu^{2+}/gVSS$로 나타났다. 최종 메탄 수율을 이용하여 산정한 저해효과는 운전기간이 지속됨에 따라 미생물 적응 및 첨가한 구리의 용존성 리간드와 체외효소와 결합으로 인하여 점차 저감되는 현상이 나타났다. 초기 메탄 발생속도를 근거로 산정한 비메탄 활성도는 이와 같은 영향을 상대적으로 제외할 수 있으므로 중금속에 의한 저해효과를 보다 정확하게 산정할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 황산염을 첨가한 경우 황산염 환원 미생물의 길항작용으로 인하여 첨가한 구리가 환원된 황화물과 결합하여 구리에 의한 저해효과는 거의 없는 것으로 나타났다. 구리를 첨가한 경우 초기 프로피온산의 분해가 지연되었으나, 점차 분해되는 경향을 보였으며. 프로피온산의 초산으로의 전환을 고려서 프로피온산의 분해가 초산의 분해 보다 구리의 영향을 많이 받는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과를 고려시 구리에 의한 저해효과는 수소이용 메탄균이 초산 이용 메탄균에 비해 보다 민감한 것으로 판단된다.
