해결중심 집단상담이 비행청소년의 스트레스 반응과 대처방식에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Solution-Focused Group Counseling on the Stress Response and Coping Strategies in the Delinquent Juveniles)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to examine the effects of solution-focused group counseling on the general stress, stress response and coping in the delinquent juveniles. Method: The subjects consisted of a convenience samlple of 60 delinquent juveniles who had been placed under probation in Kwang-ju, and recruited from Oct., 2000 to Dec., 2000. Solution-focused group counseling was conducted for the experimental group once a week for 120 to 180 minutes for 6 week. The control group received no group session. For both groups the level of general stress, stress response and coping were measured before and after the experiment. Result: General stress significantly decreased in the experimental group and increased in the control group, but showed no significant difference between the two groups. Stress response decreased significantly in the experimental group and increased in the control group, but showed no significant difference between the two groups. The problem-focused coping significantly increased in the experimental group and decreased in the control group, and showed a significant difference between the two groups. The emotion-focused coping significantly decreased in the experimental group and increased in the control group, and showed no significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion: This study showed that solution-focused group-counselling has a positive effect on variables like the general stress, stress response, emotion-focused coping and problem-focused coping. Further study needs to be conducted to verify results.

학업중단 청소년의 사회적지지, 자아탄력성과 스트레스 대처방식 연구 (A Study on the Social Support, Ego-resiliency and Stress Coping Strategies of School-Dropout Adolescents)

  • 본 연구는 학업중단 청소년의 스트레스 상황에 대하여 적응적인 대처를 돕고자 사회적지지, 자아탄력성과 스트레스 대처방식의 상대적 설명력을 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 대전, 충남, 충북의 각 지역에서 학교 밖 청소년지원 사업과 소년원, 청소년 보호치료시설 등에 직접 방문 및 의뢰하여 학업중단 청소년 101명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 분석방법으로는 기술통계, Pearson 상관관계, 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였으며, 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 스트레스 대처방식은 사회적지지와 자아탄력성과 정적 상관관계를 나타내었다. 둘째, 스트레스 대처방식에 더 많은 설명력을 나타낸 변인은 환경적 변인인 사회적지지였다. 셋째, 스트레스 대처방식에 있어서 환경적 변인인 사회적지지와 개인적 변인인 자아탄력성을 동시에 투입했을 때 더 많은 설명력이 나타났다. 따라서 학업중단 청소년이 직면한 어려움을 극복하기 위해 개인의 대처능력 향상뿐만 아니라 학교, 지역사회, 국가의 정책적 노력과 더불어 체계적 접근이 필요함을 시사한다.

사회적 지지, 스트레스 대처방식이 보육교사의 직무스트레스에 미치는 영향: 직장보육시설을 중심으로 (Effects of Social Support and Stress Coping Strategies on Teachers' Job Stress in Corporate-Sponsored Child Care Centers)

  • This study explored effects of social support and stress coping strategies on teachers' job stress in corporate-sponsored child care centers. Participants were 191 child care teachers from 19 corporate-sponsored child care centers. Data was analyzed using Pearson's productive correlation and hierarchical multiple regression tests. Important findings were as follows: First, the overload of task was the dominant factor in causing job stress. Secondly, social support correlated negatively with child care teachers' job stress. Thirdly, child care teachers' problem-focused coping strategy was also found to be related to their job stress. Finally, the effect of social support on child care teachers' job stress was partially mediated by their problem-focused coping strategy.

A Study on Efficacy and Coping Strategies for Home Economics Teachers

  • This study investigates the efficacy and coping strategies of Home Economics teachers in secondary schools. Data were collected from 75 Home Economics teachers via a mailed survey and from 282 Home Economics teachers via an online survey. Descriptive statistics including frequency, percentage, average, and standard deviation; in addition, the ANOVA, t-test, multiple linear regression, and correlation results were reported using SPSS statistics 17.0. The results were as follows: First, the average Home Economics teachers efficacy level was 3.82 out of 5-point Likert scale. The efficacy level of learning assistance was the highest. The composite efficacy of Home Economics teachers showed a significant difference depending on the major. Second, the averages of the positive and negative coping strategy level of Home Economics teachers were 3.54 and 2.03, respectively. Third, the efficacy of instructional strategy out of the five components of efficacy was the most influential to the positive coping strategy. There was no significant relationship between teacher efficacy and the negative strategy.

기술에 대한 소비 감정, 태도와 구매행동 및 대응전략 연구-하이테크제품을 중심으로 (A Study of Consumption Emotions of Technology, Consumer Attitude, Purchasing Behavior and Coping Strategy Associated with High-tech Products)

  • The purposes of this study were to explain consumer attitude and purchasing behavior, and coping strategy considering consumption emotions of technology and individual characteristics associated with high-tech products. The results of this study were as follows: consumer attitude was found to be somewhat favorable and a half of the respondents had some purchasing experience of high-tech products. Many consumers were more likely to perceive consumption emotion and some of coping strategies were found to be preferred to others. Then consumer attitude was found to be significantly influenced by some of the consumption emotion, while other individual characteristics were found to be insignificant. In addition, the purchasing experience was found to be significantly influenced by consumer attitude, marital status and education. Finally, each kind of consumption emotion might have a relation to several coping strategies.

모-자녀 간 역기능적 의사소통 유형의 군집과 특성분노 및 분노대처방식의 관계 (The Relationships Between Clusters of Types of Mother-adolescent's Problems in Family Communication and Adolescent's Trait Anger and Anger Coping Strategies)

  • This study examined natural groupings of mother-adolescents in terms of the sub-factors of problems in family communication. The natural groupings were as follows; the placating type, the blaming type, the super-reasonable type, and the inattention type. In addition, this paper also examined individual differences in trait anger and anger coping strategies patterns by clusters of sub-factors of problem in family communication. The subjects of this study consisted of 406 adolescents. Data were analyzed by means of cluster analysis and one-way ANOVA. The results from cluster analysis with the adolescent sample suggested the presence of four clusters ('placating-suppression', 'mixing up-confusion', 'authoritarian-hostility', 'consistent-repression'). Additionally, these four groups were found to be related to trait anger and anger coping strategies (anger-suppress, anger-out, anger-control).

저소득층 이혼 가족 아동의 적응에 있어 보호요인 탐색 : 아동의 대처 전략, 부모 양육 유형, 부모의 스트레스, 사회적 지지 (Protective Factors of School-Aged Children's Adjustment to Parental Divorce from Low Income Families)

  • This study explored adjustment of school-aged children from low-income divorced families. Specifically, protective factors for children's self-perceived competence and behavior problems were investigated with children's coping strategies, perceived social support, parents' childrearing style, and parental stress. Subjects of this study were 126 children of 4 to 6 grade and their custodial parents(38 fathers, 88 mothers) from divorced families. Children's self-perceived competence and behavior problems were not different neither by children's sex nor custodial parent's sex. When children used more positive and less negative coping strategies, and when parents experienced less childrearing stress, children perceived themselves to be more competent. Similarly, when children used more positive and less negative coping strategies, received more social support, they perceived themselves to be more adequate. Children whose parents had high levels of childrearing stress showed more internalized and externalized behavior problems. Furthermore, children who perceived less supports from peers showed more behavior problems.

공황장애 환자에서 범불안장애 공존 유무에 따른 임상적 특징 비교 (A Comparison of the Clinical Characteristics of Panic Disorder with and without Generalized Anxiety Disorder)

  • Objective : This study aimed to investigate differences in demographic, clinical characteristics, and quality of life between panic-disorder patients with generalized anxiety disorder (PD+GAD) and without generalized anxiety disorder (PD-GAD). Methods : We examined data from 218 patients diagnosed with PD+GAD (150 patients) and PD-GAD (68patients). The following instruments were applied: Stress coping strategies, Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Panic Disorder Severity Scale (PDSS), Anxiety Sensitivity Index-Revised (ASI-R), Albany Panic and Phobia Questionnaire (APPQ), NEO-neuroticism(NEO-N), Short Form health survey-36 (SF-36). Results : Compared to the PD-GAD group, the PD+GAD group had higher scores in emotion-focused coping strategies and clinical severity, such as BDI, BAI, PDSS, ASI, APPQ, and neuroticism. The PD+ GAD group showed lower scores in most scales in SF-36 status than PD-GAD group. Conclusions : This study shows that PD+GAD patients are different from PD-GAD patients in coping strategies, clinical severity and quality of life. It emphasizes the need of personalized therapy in clinical approach among patients with PD+GAD.

Mediating Effects of Resilience on the Relationship between Smartphone Addiction and Anger Coping Strategies - Focusing on the comparison of students of general high schools and special purpose high schools -

  • In this paper, we verify the mediating effects of resilience on the relationship between smartphone addition and anger coping strategies, focusing on 299 high school students, and examine the effect of variables on students of general high schools and special purpose high schools. We found that smartphone addiction affects students' resilience and the resilience affects their anger-out and anger-in. It is also found that resilience has mediating effects on the relationship between students' smartphone addiction and anger coping strategies. As for students of general high schools, their smartphone addiction has positive effects on anger-out and anger-in while that of students of special purpose high schools affects their resilience, and the resilience affect their anger-out and anger-in. The results suggest that a high-level of smartphone addiction tends to reduce resilience, which lowers anger moderation, and stress the need of intervention by school type. Finally, this paper discusses implications based on its results and importance of further studies.

노인대상자의 비전문 간호제공자가 경험하는 소진예측요인 : Discriminant Analysis를 이용한 분석 (Predictors of Burnout among Informal Caregivers of Older Adults ; Using Discriminant Analysis)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the predictors of burnout among informal caregivers of older adults. One hundred thirty seven caregivers who had provided care to older adults over 60 years of age for more than one month were included in the study. Most of the caregivers were white (91%) and female (78%). Mean ages of the caregivers were 64 years and 78% of them were married. Seventy percent of the older adults suffered from Alzheimer and related disease. In this study, caregivers reported that they experienced burnout once a month. The scores of emotional exhaustion and reduced personal accomplishment of the caregivers were in the moderate burnout range. To examine the predictors of burnout, discriminant analysis was used. Caregivers were divided by two groups based on the sum of scores (cutpoint=6) on three dimensions of burnout after each dimension was categorized into high(3), moderate(2), and low(1). Nine predictors were included in the analysis : Caregiver's age, employment status, Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADL) of the older adult, presence of dementia of the older adult, caregiver's empathy toward the older adult (emotional and cognitive), and 3 coping strategies (negative, problem-focused, cognitive reconstructioning). Caregivers who reported high burnout showed higher cognitive empathy toward the older adults than those who showed low burnout. Caregivers who experienced high burnout used negative coping more often, and cognitive reconstructioning coping and problem focused coping less often than their counterparts. Wilks' Lambda was .78 indicating that differences between the two groups were significant. Cognitive empathy and cognitive reconstructioning coping showed high standardized canonical discriminat function coefficients over .40. Discriminant function with 9 predictors correctly classified 71% of the sample. In conclusion, informal caregivers also experienced certain level of burnout. Cognitive empathy and coping strategies predicted burnout experience of the caregivers. Based on this study, nursing intervention to the informal caregivers to improve their cognitive empathy toward the older adults and to modify their coping strategies in a way to reduce burnout experience can be applied. Further research to develop effective nursing interventions for the purpose of reducing burnout experience by modifying predictors was suggested.
