  • A Leader is a Coordinator that supports a set of processes to cooperate a given task. This concept is used in several domains such as distributed systems, parallelism and cooperative support for cooperative work. In completely asynchronous systems, there is no solution for the election problem satisfying both of safety and liveness properties in asynchronous distributed systems. Therefore, to solve the election problem in those systems, one property should be weaker than the other property. If an election algorithm strengthens the safety property in sacrifice of liveness property, it would not nearly progress. But on the contrary, an election algorithm strengthening the liveness property in sacrifice of the safety property would have the high probability of violating the safety property. In this paper, we presents a safety strengthened Leader Election protocol with an unreliable failure detector and analyses it in terms of safety and liveness properties in asynchronous distributed systems.

  • It is challenging to build the integrated information system for a large scale cooperative R & D project. To develop the aircraft program which especially has several leading agencies and is supported by many demestic/foreign participating companies, the common data flow in harmony is the core factor to achieve a development goal. For this, the development are carried out maintaining the existing management systems of agencies and companies. As a first step, the standard for the common data information and the classification category of technical data are defined. Second, the work flow standards are also set. Based on the foundation, the efficient technical data management system are built including the function of storage, inquiry, revision, link, approval, submission, etc.

  • The paper deals with the identification of Pareto optimal solutions using GA based coevolution in the context of multiobjective optimization. Coevolution is a genetic process by which several species work with different types of individuals in parallel. The concept of cooperative coevolution is adopted to compensate for each of single objective optimal solutions during genetic evolution. The present study explores the GA based coevolution, and develops prescribed and adaptive scheduling schemes to reflect design characteristics among single objective optimization. In the paper, non-dominated Pareto optimal solutions are obtained by controlling scheduling schemes and comparing each of single objective optimal solutions. The proposed strategies are subsequently applied to a three-bar planar truss design and an energy preserving flywheel design to support proposed strategies.

  • In education, innovative ways of teaching and learning are always under development and keep being proposed with advanced concepts since the ancient times. Student-centered learning, problem-based learning and cooperative learning have been three major trends under development in secondary education research and practice more than a decade or so. Combined with advanced information and communication technologies, these trends will greatly transform the way we teach and learn in classroom environment and may change the classroom environment itself, into a more interactive and self-centered coaching type environment. In this study, a smart environment that utilizes advanced information technology devices and network is conceptualized, accommodating requirements contained and proposed in the recent trendy pedagogies. Pedagogical cases discussed in these trends are analyzed in detail, producing requirements for such a learning and coaching environment. These requirements are modeled using unified modeling language, leading to a proposal of a basic architecture for an information system supporting this environment.

  • Both coordinated multi-point transmission and frequency reuse are effective approaches to mitigate inter-cell interference and improve network coverage. The motivation of this work is to explore the manner to effectively utilize the spectrum resource by reasonably combining cooperation and frequency reuse. The $Mat{\acute{e}}rn$ cluster process, which is appropriate to model networks with hot spots, is used to model the spatial distribution of base stations. Two cooperative mechanisms, coherent and non-coherent joint transmission (JT), are analyzed and compared. We also evaluate the effect of multiple antennas and imperfect channel state information. The simulation reveals that the proposed approach to combine cooperation and frequency reuse is effective to improve the network coverage for users located at both the center and the boundary of the cooperative region.

  • In this paper we present the multi-agent robot system developed for participating in micro robot soccer tournament. The multi-agent robot system consists of micro robot, a vision system, a host computer and a communication module. Mcro robot are equipped with two mini DC motors with encoders and gearboxes, a R/F receiver, a CPU and infrared sensors for obstacle detection. A vision system is used to recognize the position of the ball and opponent robots, position and orientation of our robots. The vision system is composed of a color CCD camera and a vision processing unit. Host computer is a Pentium PC, and it receives information from the vision system, generates commands for each robot using a robot management algorithm and transmits commands to the robots by the R/F communication module. And in order to achieve a given mission in micro robot soccer game, cooperative behaviors by robots are essential. Cooperative work between individual agents is achieved by the command of host computer.

  • By gettidg out from the existing class work with planning and execution in separate form of each class, and the research on each unit: it is suggested that the whole school system should be unified as oneunit through the proper restoration, and to aim the maximum effects of education, exalt thes pecialty of each teacher in the natural science course. Therefore: To select the text and material for the Element science carefully, secure the effectiveness of the study by each particulars of the text, and to establish the model for teaching properly arranged. Through the cooperative system of formational of teaching, to improve the basic knowledge of the course by deepening study objectives and separate teaching for each objects. Through the cooperative system, the main issues of the Elementary science course is solved, and by maintaining this method refine the speciality of teacher and rationalize he education operation.

  • The recent situation on developments in an expanding field of reference and information service is reviewed through the cooperative arrangements and comprehensive planning among libraries in America. The growth of reference cooperation is examined first along with the social forces that influenced the library interdependence for service. Of the various interlibrary programs identified in relation to the cooperative reference work, interlibrary loan is viewed as the key to the use of library resources based on equal access and making use of the tools for information and research, therefore a reference principle. Several kinds of library systems specifically intended to improve the reference situation are identified and described in detail without any attempt to evaluate their performance in terms of unit size, cost, or quality of the service.

  • Synchronization methods for shared data need to be selected properly based on characteristics of data and applications. In this paper we suggest a new semantic synchronization method, semanticAppr, for non_transactional data in disconnected mode. Our approach reduces loss of works in cooperative environments by weakening constraint of serializability. In addition it reduces data transfer by sending operation log instead document itself.

  • In a previous work, a simultaneous reporting scheme for cooperative spectrum sensing has been presented for a resource efficient transmission over a report channel. In this paper, we present a method of reducing transmission errors on the report channel for it and evaluate its performance by simulation.
