  • How to plan the energy system is one of the keys f3r constructing the Environment -Friendly City. for this reason, a great number of surveys for utilizing unused energy have conducted by a planner. In regard to unused energy, the heat from incineration plants classify as a unused energy having high-exergy-energy. From this point of view, It is studied about the plant systems providing heat to district heating & cooling(D.H.C) and producing electric power. It is divided four system models as system I (10K [kgf/cm$^2$) vapor as outlet of boiler, supply far 10K vapor and return to 60$^{\circ}C$ as supply condition of district heating), system II (30 K vapor as outlet of boiler, supply for 5t vapor and return to 60f as supply condition of district heating), system 111 (30 K vapor as outlet of boiler, supply for 85$^{\circ}C$ hot water and return to 60$^{\circ}C$ as supply condition of district heating), system IV (30 K vapor as outlet of boiler, supply for 47$^{\circ}C$ hot water and return to 40t as supply condition of district heating). The results from the upper condition of four system, System II got a proper on economical benefits and system IV calculated as benefiting on energy saving effects, and suggest indifference curve as the total evaluation method of both economical benefits and energy saving.

  • Deck plates of ships or offshore structures would make out-of-plane distortion for their thin thickness. These distortions are usually straightened by thermal straightening such as flame heating method. After thermal straightening, the blocks are lifted and moved by cranes to assemble it at dry-dock stage. After this lifting process, out-of-plane deformation again happens frequently. And then, they continuously cause quality and accuracy problems in the final dry-dock process. So, it takes more time for repair and correction working. According to preceding research, the lifting process by cranes would offset the effect on thermal straightening. The target of this study is to develop a methodology analyzing the remaining efficiency of thermal straightening after block lifting. The development was based on the assumption of yield state at straightening region. Therefore the remaining efficiency was obtained by different stiffness slope while lifting & relieving. The efficiency formula was designed using inherent strain, and we made a table of zero-efficiency by cooling speed and class rule's steels. As a result, if the stress orthogonal to straightened line is calculated during lifting analysis by FEA, the efficiency can be obtained linearly to the values in the table. Finally, even optimized carling position can be designed by considering the regional data from series project and welding region on deck.

  • Reinforced concrete structures are vulnerable to high temperature conditions such as those during a fire. At elevated temperatures, the mechanical properties of concrete and reinforcing steel as well as the bond between steel rebar and concrete may significantly deteriorate. The changes in the bonding behavior may influence the flexibility or the moment capacity of the reinforced concrete structures. The bond strength degradation is required for structural design of fire safety and structural repair after fire. However, the investigation of bonding between rebar and concrete at elevated temperatures is quite difficult in practice. In this study, bond constitutive relationships are developed for normal and high-strength concrete (NSC and HSC) subjected to fire, with the intention of providing efficient modeling and to specify the fire-performance criteria for concrete structures exposed to fire. They are developed for the following purposes at high temperatures: normal and high compressive strength with different type of aggregates, bond strength with different types of embedment length and cooling regimes, bond strength versus to compressive strength with different types of embedment length, and bond stress-slip curve. The proposed relationships at elevated temperature are compared with experimental results.

  • Aluminium-silicon based casting alloys have received an attention for high electrical and thermal conductivity applications, however relatively low conductivity of Al-Si alloys often limits the application. Efforts have been made to develop new high conductivity aluminium casting alloys containing no or less silicon. In this study Al-Zn-Fe based alloys were selected as the new alloys, and the effect of Mg additions on their properties and casting characteristics were investigated. As the magnesium content was increased, the tensile strength of Al-2Zn-0.2Fe based alloy was remarkably increased, while the electrical conductivity was deteriorated. It was observed that the fluidity of the alloys was generally inversely proportional to the Mg content but the hot cracking resistance was rather proportional to it. Cooling curve analyses were carried out to measure the actual solidification range and dendrite coherency temperature.

  • Fatigue behavior of the AH, DH and EH grade TMCP(Thermo-Mechanical Control Process) steels was studied. High cycle and low cycle fatigue tests were carried out for the weldment and base metal of each steel. The results showed that the fatigue limit at 2 * $10^6$ cycles was 33 to 37 kg/$mm^2$ for the base metal and 30 to 34 kg/$mm^2$ for the weldment. The ratio of fatigue limit to tensile strength for TMCP steels was 0.65 to 0.71, which was a value close to the upper limit for the ordinary steels. It was also found that the high cycle fatigue behavior of TMCP steels could be affected by the microstructures of base metal. It will be necessary to have fine structure for TMCP steels to increase the fatigue resistance. In low cycle fatigue test, the fatigue lifetime of AH and DH steels accorded well with the ASME best fit curve, while that of EH steel was considerably lower than the fatigue lifetime of the other steels. Fatigue resistance of the weldment made by high heat input(180kJ/cm) welding was not lower than that made by low heat input(80kJ/cm) welding in case of high cycle fatigue, but the high heat input welding decreased the fatigue resistance in case of low cycle fatigue.

  • High temperature uniaxial compression tests in the alpha single phase region were carried out on the Ti -43mo1%Al intermetallic compound, in order to obtain oriented lamellar microstructure. The compression deformation temperatures and strain rates are from 1573k to 1623k and 1.0x10$^{-4}$ s to 5.0x10$^{-3}$ s, respectively. Fully lamellar microstructure was observed after the uniaxial compression deformation in a single phase region followed by cooling to room temperature. Lamellar colony diameter depended on strain rates and test temperatures. The diameter varied between 8601m and 300fm. Stress-strain curve showed a work softening and the size of lamellar colony diameter varied depending on peak stresses. This shows the occurrence of dynamic recrystallization. Texture measurements after the uniaxial compression deformation, showed the development of fiber during dynamic recrystallization. It is seen that the area for the maximum pole density existed in 35 degrees away from the compression plane. The texture sharpens with a decrease in strain rate

  • Aircraft industry is developed very fast so titanium scrap was generated to manufacture. Titanium scrap was wasted and used to deoxidize cast iron so we are study recycling of it. In this research were studied that metal hydride of reacted in hydrogen chamber of AMS4900, 4901, return scrap titanium alloy and sponge titanium granule. The temperature of hydrogenation was 40$0^{\circ}C$ in the case of pure sponge titanium but return scrap titanium alloy were step reaction temperature at 40$0^{\circ}C$ and 50$0^{\circ}C$, and after the hydride of titanium alloy were crushed by ball mill for 5h. Titanium hydride contains to 4wt.% of hydrogen theoretically as theory. It was determined by heating and cooling curve in reaction chamber. The result of XRD was titanium hydride peak only that it was similar to pure titanium. Titanium hydride Powder particle size was about 45${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, and recovery ratio was 95w% compared with scrap weight for a aluminum foam agent.

  • The uncemented breccia consisted of conglomerate and breccia, which are not originated from volcanic clastics, shows wide variation of engineering properties depending on the characteristics of matrix of the uncemented breccia. These uncemented breccia have breccia and matrix irregularly distributed according to their depth and position. Clay minerals are also included in the matrix of these uncemented breccia, so they are expected to show expansive behavior and weakness against weathering process. In this study, the volumetric ratio of breccia on the cores had been calculated using digital image processing technique (performed on recovered core box and their sections). The 3-axial compressional strength test had been done with a shaping of rapid cooling method, and the shear strength (c, ${\phi}$) of uncemented breccia due to the breccia content had been calculated by applying BIMROCK model curve suggested by Goodman. A reliable analysis on the engineering properties of uncemented breccia had been also possible by using borehole density logging and borehole loading test for the accurate determination of the unit weight and the deformation constants deformation modulus.

  • The purpose of this experimental research is to investigate the local heat transfer characteristics in the upward free water jet impinged on a downward flat plate of uniform heat flux. The inner shape of rectangular nozzle used was sine curve type and its contraction ratio of inlet to outlet area was five. Experimental parameters considered were Reynolds number, nozzle exit-flat plate distance, and level of supplementary water. Local Nusselt number was influenced by Reynolds number, Prandtl number, supplementary water level, and distance between the nozzle exit and flat plate. Within the impingement region, the Nusselt number has a maximum value on the nozzle center axis and decreases monotonically outward from center. Outside of the impingement region, on the other hand, the Nusselt number has a secondary peak near the position where the distance from nozzle center reaches four times the nozzle width. However if nozzle exit velocity exceeds 6.2 m/s, the secondary peak appears also in the impingement region. The empirical equation for the stagnation heat transfer is a function of Prandtl, Reynolds, and axial distance from the nozzle exit. The optimum level of supplementary water to augment the heat transfer rate at stagnation point was found to be twice the nozzle width.

  • Effect of Fe and Mn contents on the castability of Al-4wt%Mg-0.9wt%Si system alloy has been studied. According to the analysis of cooling curve for Al-4wt%Mg-0.9wt%Si-0.3wt%Fe-0.3/0.5wt%Mn alloy, ${\alpha}-Al_{15}(Fe,Mn)_3Si_2$ and ${\beta}-Al_5FeSi$ phases crystallized above eutectic temperature of $Mg_2Si$. Therefore, these phases affected both the fluidity and shrinkage behaviors of the alloy during solidification. As Fe and Mn contents of Al-4wt%Mg-0.9wt%Si system alloy increased from 0.1 wt% to 0.4 wt% and from 0.3 wt% to 0.5 wt% respectively, the fluidity of the alloy decreased by 26% and 33%. When Fe content of the alloy increased from 0.1 wt% to 0.4 wt%, 23% decrease of macro shrinkage and 19% increase of micro shrinkage appeared. Similarly, Mn content of the alloy increased from 0.3 wt% to 0.5 wt%, 11% decrease of macro shrinkage and 14% increase of micro shrinkage appeared. Judging from the castability of the alloy, Al-4wt%Mg-0.9wt%Si alloy with low content of Fe and Mn, 0.1 wt% Fe and 0.3 wt% Mn, is recommendable.
