Phishing websites can have devastating effects on governmental, financial, and social services, as well as on individual privacy. Currently, many phishing detection solutions are evaluated using small datasets and, thus, are prone to sampling issues, such as representing legitimate websites by only high-ranking websites, which could make their evaluation less relevant in practice. Phishing detection solutions which depend only on the URL are attractive, as they can be used in limited systems, such as with firewalls. In this paper, we present a URL-only phishing detection solution based on a convolutional neural network (CNN) model. The proposed CNN takes the URL as the input, rather than using predetermined features such as URL length. For training and evaluation, we have collected over two million URLs in a massive URL phishing detection (MUPD) dataset. We split MUPD into training, validation and testing datasets. The proposed CNN achieves approximately 96% accuracy on the testing dataset; this accuracy is achieved with URL schemes (such as HTTP and HTTPS) removed from the URL. Our proposed solution achieved better accuracy compared to an existing state-of-the-art URL-only model on a published dataset. Finally, the results of our experiment suggest keeping the CNN up-to-date for better results in practice.

In this study, a deep learning algorithm was used to diagnose electric potential signals obtained through CIPS and DCVG, used indirect inspection methods to confirm the soundness of buried pipes. The deep learning algorithm consisted of CNN(Convolutional Neural Network) model for diagnosing the electric potential signal and Grad CAM(Gradient-weighted Class Activation Mapping) for showing the flaw prediction point. The CNN model for diagnosing electric potential signals classifies input data as normal/abnormal according to the presence or absence of flaw in the buried pipe, and for abnormal data, Grad CAM generates a heat map that visualizes the flaw prediction part of the buried pipe. The CIPS/DCVG signal and piping layout obtained from the 3D finite element model were used as input data for learning the CNN. The trained CNN classified the normal/abnormal data with 93% accuracy, and the Grad-CAM predicted flaws point with an average error of 2m. As a result, it confirmed that the electric potential signal of buried pipe can be diagnosed using a CNN-based deep learning algorithm.

We introduce a vision-based object detection method for real-time video surveillance system in low-end edge computing environments. Recently, the accuracy of object detection has been improved due to the performance of approaches based on deep learning algorithm such as Region Convolutional Neural Network(R-CNN) which has two stage for inferencing. On the other hand, one stage detection algorithms such as single-shot detection (SSD) and you only look once (YOLO) have been developed at the expense of some accuracy and can be used for real-time systems. However, high-performance hardware such as General-Purpose computing on Graphics Processing Unit(GPGPU) is required to still achieve excellent object detection performance and speed. To address hardware requirement that is burdensome to low-end edge computing environments, We propose sub-frame analysis method for the object detection. In specific, We divide a whole image frame into smaller ones then inference them on Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) based image detection network, which is much faster than conventional network designed forfull frame image. We reduced its computationalrequirementsignificantly without losing throughput and object detection accuracy with the proposed method.
Based on the convolutional neural network (CNN), a novel technique is investigated for lost gamma source detection in a room. The CNN is trained with the result of a GEANT4 simulation containing a gamma source inside a meshed room. The dataset for the training process is the deposited energy in the meshes of different n-step paths. The neural network is optimized with parameters such as the number of input data and path length. Based on the proposed method, the place of the gamma source can be recognized with reasonable accuracy without human intervention. The results show that only by 5 measurements of the energy deposited in a 5-step path, (5 sequential points 50 cm apart within 1600 meshes), the gamma source location can be estimated with 94% accuracy. Also, the method is tested for the room geometry containing the interior walls. The results show 90% accuracy with the energy deposition measurement in the meshes of a 5-step path.
The deployment of advanced structural health monitoring (SHM) systems in large-scale civil structures collects large amounts of data. Note that these data may contain multiple types of anomalies (e.g., missing, minor, outlier, etc.) caused by harsh environment, sensor faults, transfer omission and other factors. These anomalies seriously affect the evaluation of structural performance. Therefore, the effective analysis and mining of SHM data is an extremely important task. Inspired by the deep learning paradigm, this study develops a novel generative adversarial network (GAN) and convolutional neural network (CNN)-based data anomaly detection approach for SHM. The framework of the proposed approach includes three modules : (a) A three-channel input is established based on fast Fourier transform (FFT) and Gramian angular field (GAF) method; (b) A GANomaly is introduced and trained to extract features from normal samples alone for class-imbalanced problems; (c) Based on the output of GANomaly, a CNN is employed to distinguish the types of anomalies. In addition, a dataset-oriented method (i.e., multistage sampling) is adopted to obtain the optimal sampling ratios between all different samples. The proposed approach is tested with acceleration data from an SHM system of a long-span bridge. The results show that the proposed approach has a higher accuracy in detecting the multi-pattern anomalies of SHM data.
In this paper, we propose a black ice detection system using Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs). Black ice poses a serious threat to road safety, particularly during winter conditions. To overcome this problem, we introduce a CNN-based architecture for real-time black ice detection with an encoder-decoder network, specifically designed for real-time black ice detection using thermal images. To train the network, we establish a specialized experimental platform to capture thermal images of various black ice formations on diverse road surfaces, including cement and asphalt. This enables us to curate a comprehensive dataset of thermal road black ice images for a training and evaluation purpose. Additionally, in order to enhance the accuracy of black ice detection, we propose a multi-scale dilation convolution feature fusion (MsDC-FF) technique. This proposed technique dynamically adjusts the dilation ratios based on the input image's resolution, improving the network's ability to capture fine-grained details. Experimental results demonstrate the superior performance of our proposed network model compared to conventional image segmentation models. Our model achieved an mIoU of 95.93%, while LinkNet achieved an mIoU of 95.39%. Therefore, it is concluded that the proposed model in this paper could offer a promising solution for real-time black ice detection, thereby enhancing road safety during winter conditions.

As the current cyber attacks become more intelligent, the existing Intrusion Detection System is difficult for detecting intelligent attacks that deviate from the existing stored patterns. In an attempt to solve this, a model of a deep learning-based intrusion detection system that analyzes the pattern of intelligent attacks through data learning has emerged. Intrusion detection systems are divided into host-based and network-based depending on the installation location. Unlike network-based intrusion detection systems, host-based intrusion detection systems have the disadvantage of having to observe the inside and outside of the system as a whole. However, it has the advantage of being able to detect intrusions that cannot be detected by a network-based intrusion detection system. Therefore, in this study, we conducted a study on a host-based intrusion detection system. In order to evaluate and improve the performance of the host-based intrusion detection system model, we used the host-based Leipzig Intrusion Detection-Data Set (LID-DS) published in 2018. In the performance evaluation of the model using that data set, in order to confirm the similarity of each data and reconstructed to identify whether it is normal data or abnormal data, 1D vector data is converted to 3D image data. Also, the deep learning model has the drawback of having to re-learn every time a new cyber attack method is seen. In other words, it is not efficient because it takes a long time to learn a large amount of data. To solve this problem, this paper proposes the Siamese Convolutional Neural Network (Siamese-CNN) to use the Few-Shot Learning method that shows excellent performance by learning the little amount of data. Siamese-CNN determines whether the attacks are of the same type by the similarity score of each sample of cyber attacks converted into images. The accuracy was calculated using Few-Shot Learning technique, and the performance of Vanilla Convolutional Neural Network (Vanilla-CNN) and Siamese-CNN was compared to confirm the performance of Siamese-CNN. As a result of measuring Accuracy, Precision, Recall and F1-Score index, it was confirmed that the recall of the Siamese-CNN model proposed in this study was increased by about 6% from the Vanilla-CNN model.

Lane detection is a widely researched topic. Although simple road detection is easily achieved by previous methods, lane detection becomes very difficult in several complex cases involving noisy edges. To address this, we use a Convolution neural network (CNN) for image enhancement. CNN is a deep learning method that has been very successfully applied in object detection and recognition. In this paper, we introduce a robust lane detection method based on a CNN combined with random sample consensus (RANSAC) algorithm. Initially, we calculate edges in an image using a hat shaped kernel, then we detect lanes using the CNN combined with the RANSAC. In the training process of the CNN, input data consists of edge images and target data is images that have real white color lanes on an otherwise black background. The CNN structure consists of 8 layers with 3 convolutional layers, 2 subsampling layers and multi-layer perceptron (MLP) of 3 fully-connected layers. Convolutional and subsampling layers are hierarchically arranged to form a deep structure. Our proposed lane detection algorithm successfully eliminates noise lines and was found to perform better than other formal line detection algorithms such as RANSAC

CNN(Convolutional Nerual Network) is one of the algorithms that show superior performance in image recognition and classification among machine learning algorithms. CNN is simple, but it has a large amount of computation and it takes a lot of time. Consequently, in this paper we performed an parallel processing unit for the convolution layer, pooling layer and the fully connected layer, which consumes a lot of handling time in the process of CNN, through the SIMT(Single Instruction Multiple Thread)'s structure of GPGPU(General-Purpose computing on Graphics Processing Units). And we also expect to improve performance by reducing the number of memory accesses and directly using the output of convolution layer not storing it in pooling layer. In this paper, we use MNIST dataset to verify this experiment and confirm that the proposed CNN structure is 12.38% better than existing structure.
