원료수송용 벨트컨베이어의 철편인식 장치 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Development of Metal Detector on Belt Conveyor in Material Plant)

  • In order to prevent the belt from being damaged by metal pieces, we developed multicoil-type metal detection system. This detects the presence of belt clips and position of metal pieces in ores being transported on conveyor belt. In this research, our coil sensor of multicoil-type metal detection system is divided into two parts, exciting part (transmitter coil) and sensing part composed of two receiver coils. Each receiver coil has several coils in the direction of belt width. Multicoil-type metal detection system is operated by supplying a transmitter coil with electric power resources to generate magnetic field, and then the change of magnetic flux resulted from a metal piece on the conveyor be a is induced into sensing coils. We can prevent detector from failing to catch metal pieces due to high threshold level produced by steel belt clips and male the sensitivity of belt-width direction uniform by using multicoil-type metal detection system. Besides, this developed system can recognize precise position and size of metal piece. The experiments shows that our multicoil-type metal detection system has better performances than the conventional metal piece detector.

FSI 해석을 통한 공기압 컨베이어 장치의 안전성 평가 (An Evaluation of Pneumatic Conveyor Equipment Stability Through Fluid Structure Interface Analysis)

  • To evaluate the stability of a pneumatic conveyor system, a flow analysis and structural analysis were performed using the FSI technique. Prototypes were fabricated and verified. As a result of the flow analysis, the maximum pressure applied to the device was calculated to be 0.55 MPa. The structural analysis determined that the maximum stress was 131 MPa and the yield strength of the structure was less than 205 MPa. The safety of the system was confirmed by the fact that no deformation occurred during the manufacturing and operation of the prototype.

  • 모터로 다수의 롤러를 제어하여 대상 제품을 이송하는 자체 구동 롤러 컨베이어 시스템은 물류의 분기 및 합류, 대상 제품의 정렬 제어에 적합한 물류 시스템으로서 식품 제조 공정을 중심으로 활용도가 높아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 유니티 소프트웨어를 활용하여 자체 구동 롤러 컨베이어 시스템의 3차원 그래픽 모델링 기반 시뮬레이션 환경을 구축하고, 대상 제품이 시간적으로 불규칙하게 공급되는 상황에서 시스템을 구성하는 롤러의 제어에 의해 일정한 간격을 유지하도록 정렬시킬 수 있는 기법을 제안하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 대상 제품의 위치를 파악하는 센서데이터를 바탕으로 롤러를 구동하는 모터를 제어함으로써 제품의 효과적인 정렬이 가능함을 확인하였다.

Development of a Water-Spraying Type Automatic Glochids Removal System for Cactus (Opuntia humifusa) Stem

  • Purpose: A water-spraying type automatic glochids removal system for cactus (Opuntia humifusa) stem was developed, and its performance was evaluated. The system was developed to reduce intensive human labor in removing glochids from cactus stem skin without inducing damage prior to further processing into value-added products. Methods: The developed system consists of conveyor and water-spraying systems. The conveyor system delivers cactus stems through water-spraying compartments and finally to a collecting box. In order to remove the glochids, rotating nozzles spray water over all areas (i.e., front and back faces and sides) of the cactus skin under controlled water pressure. Operating conditions such as conveyor speed, water pressure, angle of water-spraying nozzles, distance between conveyor belt and rotating nozzles, and angle of cactus flipping slide were adopted from our previous study and applied on the system design and manufacturing. The performance of glochids removal was evaluated by counting the number of glochids on the cactus stem before and after processing on the system. Results: The developed system performed efficiently and effectively under the pre-studied operating conditions except for the angle of cactus flipping slide. The new system had a glochids removal ratio of 94.1% without damaging the cactus skin. Considering the original number (approximately 30-60) of glochids, the remaining number was low (1-4), and most of them were found at the side edge of the cactus stem. This system can remove glochids from 360 cactus stems in 1 hr regardless of cactus size. Conclusions: The performance of the new system in glochids removal without damaging cactus skin is superior to any other existing device (i.e., brush type, rubber-friction type, and agitation type). The system is expected to be applied in cactus (O. humifusa) processing facilities.

선추적 시스템을 위한 로봇매니퓰레이터의 동적제어 (Dynamic control approach of a robot manipulator for line-tracking applications)

  • A robot control scheme for specific application a line-tracking system is newly presented. To improve the performance of line-tracking, robot arm dynamics and torque constraints are incorporated into the control scheme. The tracking problem for the workpiece on a variable-speed conveyor is formulated as an optimal tracking problem with specific criteria. Dividing the conveyor speed into the nominal term and the perturbed term, a two-stage control strategy is employed to cope with the nonlinearity and uncertainty of the robot-conveyor system. Simulation results are given to verify good tracking performance with fast cycle time and high accuracy in a robotic workcell.

  • The problem of constrained sequencing of a set of jobs on a conveyor system with the objective of minimizing setup cost is investigated in this paper. A setup cost is associated with extra material, labor, or energy required due to the change of attributes in consecutive jobs at processing stations. A finite set of attributes is considered in this research. Sequencing is constrained by the availability of conveyor junctions. The problem is motivated by the paint purge reduction problem at a major U.S. automotive manufacturer. We first model a diverging junction with a sequence-independent setup cost and predefined attributes as an assignment problem and this model is then extended for a more general situation by relaxing the initial assumptions in various ways.

  • Recently, the linear motors have been widely used in the industry, owing to various advantages in comparison with conventional feed mechanism; high speed, high acceleration and high stiffness. In addition, the linear motors have the merits of a good velocity control, reversible movement and long lifetime. For the application of the linear motors to vibrating conveyor, the study of vibrating characteristics is required. In this paper, we developed the linear vibrating conveyor using the linear motor that has the 410N thrust and the 7.2m/min maximum moving velocity. To accomplish this system, we had some experiments that included the influence of deceleration time, vibrating amplitude and additional weight.

  • The clean non-contact type conveyor system for vertical transfer of large size FPD(Flat Panel Display) glasses has been installed at FPD production line just since a few years ago. The most important part of the conveyor is the 3 axis permanent magnet rollers faced orthogonally in pairs. However, the systematic design method about it has not been proposed yet. In this paper, we studied a design analysis for determining geometrical parameters of the magnetic roller by using a commercial FEM tool of the 3D Maxwell. Through a series of simulation, we obtained the relationship of several geometrical parameters affecting the torque of the conveyor.

  • 컴퓨터를 이용한 시뮬레이션 소프트웨어는 현재 많은 분야에서 이용되고 있으며, 본 논문에서는 제조 및 물류 전용 3차원 소프트웨어인 AutoMod를 사용하여 우편집중국의 트레이 컨베이어(Tray Conveyor) 시스템을 모델링하고, 예상되는 각 물동량에 따른 시뮬레이션 결과 분석을 통하여 컨베이어 시스템의 성능 분석 과정에 대하여 기술한다.

IoT 기반 에스컬레이터 고장 예지 시스템 (IoT-based escalator failure prediction system)

  • 본 논문에서 에스컬레이터 기계실 내부 전동기, 감속기, 구동 체인의 IoT 소음 및 진동 센서를 부착하여 에스컬레이터 운영중 실시간 상태 감시가 가능한 IoT 기반 에스컬레이터 고장 예지 시스템을 제안한다. IoT 소음 및 진동 센서는 에스컬레이터 운영 중 발생하는 소음 및 진동 데이틀 수집하여 PHM(Prognostics and Health Management) 서버로 전송하며, 서버에서는 진단 알고리즘을 통해 고장 유 무를 판단한다. 소음 데이터를 이용한 체인 피치 길이 알고리즘을 검증하기 위하여 실제 체인의 길이를 측정한 결과 값과 비교한 결과 99.8% 정확도를 가지며, 진동 데이터를 이용하여 전동기, 감속기의 상태 판단을 위한 알고리즘 검증을 위해 AST 사의 진동 센서와 비교한 결과 약간의 오차는 발생하지만 ISO 10816-3을 기준으로 한 판단 결과 값은 동일한 결과 값을 가지는 것을 확인하였다.
