Assembly Sequence Planning for Multiple Robots Along a Conveyer Line (다수의 로봇을 이용한 컨베어상의 조립순서 계획)

  • In order to increase productivity of an assembly system composed of multiple robots along a conveyer line, an efficient sequence planning is necessary because the assembly time is dependent upon the assembly sequence. In this paper, a two-robot assembly system is considered in which two robots operate simultaneously and transfer parts from the part feeders to the workpiece on the conveyer one by one. In this case, the distance from the feeder to the workpiece varies with time because the workpiece moves at a constant speed on the conveyer. Hence, the sequence programming is not a trivial problem. Also, the two robots may interfere with each other kinematically and dynamically due to the simultaneous operation, so the sequence should be programmed to avoid the interferences. In this paper, the task sequence optimization problem is formulated and is solved by employing the simulated annealing which has been shown to be effective for solving large combinatorial optimizations.

  • This paper presents development of a different substance monitoring system base reliable detection between the conveyer belt and hopper used lot materials transport line of steel company. Conventional detection method of a piece of iron separation system is losed the confidence, because of the place with bad surroundings of measurement so much that materials Production line are completely exposed to dust, moisture and vibration. For the solution of this problem, we developed a different substance detection system using the acoustic emittion sensor and one chip microprocessor which is available for bad surroundings and inexpensive. The reliability of the system was estimated by experiment.

Multi-Channel Vision System for On-Line Quantification of Appearance Quality Factors of Apple

  • An integrated on-line inspection system was constructed with seven cameras, half mirrors to split images. 720 nm and 970 nm band pass filters, illumination chamber having several tungsten-halogen lamps, one main computer, one color frame grabber, two 4-channel multiplexors, and flat plate conveyer, etc. A total of seven images, that is, one color image form the top of an apple and two B/W images from each side (top, right and left) could be captured and displayed on a computer monitor through the multiplexor. One of the two B/W images captured from each side is 720nm filtered image and the other is 970 nm. With this system an on-line grading software was developed to evaluate appearance quality. On-line test results with Fuji apples that were manually fed on the conveyer showed that grading accuracies of the color, defect and shape were 95.3%, 86% and 88.6%, respectively. Grading time was 0.35 second per apple on an average. Therefore, this on-line grading system could be used for inspection of the final products produced from an apple sorting system.

  • In this paper, client/server model for remote conveyor control and monitoring system Is designed and implemented to simulate the product line of vehicles. The client system located at the monitoring office is using a web applet based system, and sends some commands to the server system which guards and controls the conveyer system. The commands is delivered to the server system, the driver software existing in the server controls the conveyer system directly.

  • This study try introduce a cell manufacturing form and to make the productivity in a conveyor line manufacture for the customer requirement and market change. The case research from JIT theory that made the model to make a productivity enhance through the cell line in a conveyor line and U-line. This research was subject with a cosmetics manufacture company, therefor we can raise the quality enhance, personnel expenses and reduction of delivery effectiveness in a stroke types of industry consequently.

  • This paper describes a vision based automation case study for the tire tread extruder line. To accurately measure the thread widths, two cameras with laser line illumination have been installed near the takeaway conveyer. The overall tread extruder line is then automated by controlling the speeds of take away conveyor and screw motor such that a difference between measured widths and the targeted data is minimized. By doing this, the conventional tread extruder line has been replaced by the developed automated computer system and with only one operator, increasing the production efficiency and reducing safety accidents.

A Mathematical Model for Converting Conveyor Assembly Line to Cellular Manufacturing

  • This paper proposes a mathematical model for converting conveyor assembly line to cellular manufacturing in complex production environments. Complex production environments refer to the situations with multi-products, variant demand, different batch sizes and the worker abilities varying with work stations and products respectively. The model proposed in this paper aims to determine (1) how many cells should be formatted; (2) how many workers should be assigned in each cell; (3) and how many workers should be rested in shortened conveyor line when a conveyor assembly line should be converted, in order to optimize system performances which are defined as the total throughput time and total labor power. We refer the model to a new production system. Such model can be used as an evaluation tool in the cases of (i) when a company wants to change its production system (usually a belt conveyor line) to a new one (including cell manufacturing); (ii) when a company wants to evaluate the performance of its converted system. Simulation experiments based on the data collected from the previous documents are used to estimate the marginal impact that each factor change has had on the estimated performance improvement resulting from the conversion.
