The contingent convertible bond (or CoCo) is designed as a bail-in tool, which is written down or converted to equity if the issuing bank is seriously troubled and thus its trigger is activated. The trigger could either be rule-based or discretion-based. I show theoretically that the bail-in is less implementable and that the associated bail-in risk is lower if the trigger is discretion-based, as governments face greater political pressure from the act of letting creditors take losses. The political pressure is greater because governments have the sole authority to activate the trigger and hence can be accused of having 'blood on their hands'. Furthermore, the pressures could be augmented by investors' self-fulfilling expectations with regard to government bailouts. I support this theoretic prediction with empirical evidence showing that the bail-in risk premiums on CoCos with discretion-based triggers are on average 1.13 to 2.91%p lower than CoCos with rule-based triggers.

An improved 3D-2D convertible display system with enhanced depth and viewing angle is proposed. By using the optical structure of an LCD panel, it is possible to enhance the performance of the system and realize the 3D-2D conversion. Some preliminary experimental results will also be provided.

Several regulations on converting reusable products are established in many countries, due to the emphasis on environmental issues on manufacturing. Many companies consider reusable and returned items in addition to purchasing new items. In this paper we suggest several algorithms to determine the near optimal quantities of items for converting and new items for purchasing. The reusable items are converted into end items, each facing normally distributed demand in a single period of interest. We develop a mathematical model and a genetic algorithm(GA) to compare the number of convertible units and new items to be purchased. Computational results demonstrate the efficiency of the developed algorithms.

We proposed the two-dimensional (2D) / three-dimensional (3D) convertible modified integral imaging system using functional polarizing film named $imazer^{TM}$, which transfer or scatter the incident light ray according to the polarizing direction of ray. When the incident light rays transfer to $imazer^{TM}$, the rays generate 3D image through the process of the modified integral imaging system. However, the scattered light rays generate 2D image through the simple backlight scheme when the incident rays are scattered by the film. The proposed method can be implemented the partial 3D display system without any mechanical movements. In this paper, we propose and verify our system using some basic experiments and its results.

The enzyme produced by Rhizopus japonicus was able to convert selectively ginsenoside-Rb$_1$which is the most abundant ginseng saponin, into ginsenoside-Rd which was known to be superior to ginsenoside-Rb$_1$pharmaceutically. The convertible enzyme was purified homogeneous from wheat bran culture of Rhizopus japonicus by ammonium sulfate fractionation and column chromatography of TEAE-cellulose, DEAE-Sephadex A-50, Sephadex G-150, Sepharose 2B. Specific activity of the purified enzyme was increased to a bent 96 folds and yield was appeared to be 11% of culture extract. Evidence for homogenity was obtained from polyacrylamide and SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Molecular weight of the enzyme was estimated about 88, 000 daltons by Sephadex G-l50 gel filtration and SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, and it did not consist of any subunit.

목적: 주관절에 대한 인공 관절 성형술은 아직도 슬관절이나 고관절에서의 그것에 비해 정설이 정립되지 않은 분야이다. 치환물의 디자인이나 수술 술기면에서 많은 발전이 이루어지고 있지만, 여전히 문헌상 보고되는 장기 추시 결과는 많지 않은 실정이다. 여기에서는 현재 사용되고 있는 다양한 주관절 치환물에 대해 전반적으로 살펴보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법: 주관절에 대한 인공 관절 성형술에 사용되는 치환물은 크게 3개로 분류되고 있다. 비구속형과 구속형, 그리고 전환 가능한 치환물이 그것이다. 이들 각각 치환물의 특징 및 현재의 경과 등에 대해 살펴보았다. 결과 및 결론: 주관절에 대한 인공 관절 성형술에 있어서 치환물의 형태 자체보다는 이를 적절히 적용하기 위한 적절한 환자의 선택, 지속적인 치환물 디자인의 개선, 수술 술기의 발달, 적절한 수술 후 재활 치료 등과 같은 요인 역시 중요하다.

본 연구는 투자자 입장에서 전환사채(CB)의 투자효과가 어느 정도 인지를 규명하고 효율적인 투자방안을 투자자들에게 제시하는 것이 연구목적이다. 연구방법은 2015년부터 2020년 6월까지 발행한 CB에 대한 표면이자율, 만기이자율, 채권만기일, 전환가격, 전환일 등을 조사한 후, 전환일 이후 일별주가변동과 연결하여 CB에 대한 투자효율성 및 주식전환효과가 어느 정도인지를 파악하였다. 연구 결과, 전환가격초과일수비율이 전환 가능한 날짜의 1/4 정도에 불과하여 CB의 투자효율성은 낮은 것으로 분석되었다. 전환일수익률은 평균 -6.3%, 만기일수익률은 평균 -5.2%여서 평균적으로 마이너스 수익률을 보여 투자자 기대와 다르게 투자효과가 산출되었다. 전환일수익률이 마이너스인 종목수가 플러스인 종목수 보다 2.4배, 만기일수익률이 마이너스인 종목수가 플러스인 종목수 보다 3.7배 많아서 CB의 주식전환 기대 수익률은 낮은 것으로 분석되었다.

전환사채는 채권과 주식의 성격을 모두 내포하고 있는 금융 상품인데 일반적으로 신용등급이 낮은 기업이 유동성을 확대하기 위해서 발행한다. 전환사채의 투자자와 발행 기업은 투자자의 전환권 행사 여부와 시점에 대한 의사결정 문제가 가장 중요한데 투자 판단 지표가 미약하기 때문에 정성적 판단에 의존한다. 따라서 본 논문은 과학적으로 전환권 행사 결정 문제에 인공신경망 기법을 적용하는 방안을 제안한다. 과거에 발행한 총 1,800개의 학습 데이터와 200개의 예측 실험 데이터로 구분을 하고 인공신경망 학습 모형을 구축한다. 그 결과 대부분의 그룹에서 패리티 성과가 우수하였고 평균 약 10% 이상의 초과 수익을 달성하였다. 특히 3~6 그룹에서는 평균 약 20% 이상의 초과 수익을 보였으며 그룹 6의 경우에는 약 37%의 초과 수익을 기록했다. 본 논문은 금융 분야에 4차 산업의 대표적 기술인 기계학습 기법을 융합·적용하여 의사결정 문제 해결에 집중했다는 것에서 의의가 있으며 데이터 접근에 한계가 많은 전환사채 상품을 대상으로 실험을 했다는 점에서 향후 다양한 연구에서 참고 문헌이 되기를 기대한다.

In this paper we investigate the minimum permanents and minimizing matrices on the faces $\omega(D)$ of $\omega_n$ for two fully indecomposable (0, 1) matrices D which are slight changes of both a convertible matrix and the matrix with zero trace.
