  • The marketing literature suggests that personal relationships between customers and service providers influence consumers' evaluation of goods and services. In this paper, we investigate the effects of service providers' conversation types (non-physical communication) on customers' evaluation and satisfaction in conversation with service providers. The empirical results show that the non-physical communication affect consumers' satisfaction in communication with service providers. This implies that the non-physical communication could be considered as a strategic tool when corporations need to differentiate their services from competitors to gain an advantage in competition.

  • Purpose: There is a need for artificial intelligence which nurtures human intelligence as the prevalence of dementia and collapse of intelligence of human beings has become a social problem. Purpose of this study is to develop intervention technologies for maintaining cognitive health of older adults. Methods: The method named the Coimagination Method (CM) was proposed and has been developed in order to achieve goal. Conversation assistive technologies have been developed and tested based on the method. Results: The state of the art of the group conversation support system, and regular series of group conversation sessions for full-years with insights for healthy older adults are described in detail. Participatory approach has been applied to the design process for simultaneous research and implementation of the service. Both participants and practitioners have been maintaining their cognitive health for independent living. Conclusion: Findings imply that there exist potentially preventive types of dementia and intervention should be applicable for such types. Ways of thinking and living are gently intervened through understanding of personal values and broadening minds, which lead to improved quality of life.

  • 이 연구는 스마트 홈 환경에서 대화 주제 유형에 따라 음성 에이전트의 선행 발화 방식이 사용자 경험에 미치는 효과를 확인하고자 하였다. 과제 중심적 대화와 관계 중심적 대화의 두 가지 대화 유형을 바탕으로, 스마트 스피커의 발화 방식을 선행 발화와 후행 발화로 구분하여 네 가지 시나리오를 제작하였다. 온라인 실험을 진행하여 총 62명의 참가자를 발화 방식에 따라 두 그룹으로 나누어, 대화 유형의 두 가지 시나리오를 진행하게 하고, 호감도, 심리적 저항감, 지각된 지능의 사용자 경험 요인을 측정하였다. 실험 결과, 대화 유형 중 과제 중심적 대화에서 호감도의 주효과가 나타났고, 발화 방식에서 선행 발화에 대한 심리적 저항감의 주효과가 나타났다. 선행 발화 방식은 과제 중심적 대화에서 호감도와 지각된 지능을 높이는 효과를 보였다.

가족치료 대화의 구조와 기능에 대한 대화분석적 연구 (A Study on Functional Structure in Conversation of Family Therapy)

  • 본 연구는 가족치료 상담자의 의사소통 능력향상을 위해 훈츠누어셔의 대화문법론을 기반으로 가족치료 전체 회기에 나타나는 상담자와 내담자 간 의사소통의 전형적인 구조인 '대화연속체 원형'을 기술하고 설명하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 먼저 선행연구를 통하여 가족상담의 과정단계를 초기, 중기와 종결단계로 분류하고, 각 과정단계의 부분적 기능단계를 분위기 조성단계, 가족사정단계, 인식변화 유도단계, 변화체험 확인단계, 종결단계로 나누어 대화연속체 원형을 구축하였다. 그리고 2명의 상담자와 30명의 내담자가 참여한 실제 가족치료 대화를 분석하여 각 기능단계에서 나타나는 대화연속체 원형을 설명하였다. 본 연구를 통해 구축된 대화원형은 일반적인 가족치료의 대화구조를 분석하는 틀로써 상담의 목적에 맞게 가족치료를 구조화시키고 상담자들의 효과적인 의사소통 능력을 평가하는데 사용될 수 있다.

이야기 나누기 활동에서 수학동화유형에 따른 수학적 담화의 차이 (The Differences in 'Math Talks' during Storybook Reading Activities According to the Types of Math Storybook Used)

  • This study was to investigate the differences of 'math talks' between concept-based storybook reading and context-based storybook reading activities. The teachers carried out storybook reading activities with their children using either four concept-based storybooks or four context-based storybooks. Fifty-six storybook reading activities from seven kindergarten classrooms were observed. The data were collected through participant observations and audio recordings. The transcriptions of 'math talks' during storybook reading activity were classified in terms of the levels of instructional conversation, types of mathematizing, and the mathematical processes involved. The results indicated that the 'math talks' during the concept-based storybook reading activity were higher than those of the context-based storybook reading activity in terms of both the instructional conversation and in quantifying and redescribing of mathematizing. However, the 'math talks' during the context-based storybook reading activity were higher than those of the concept-based storybook reading activity in connecting and reasoning of the mathematical processes involved. These findings suggest that early childhood teachers need to improve the level of instructional conversation during math storybook reading activities.

인공지능 에이전트 대화형 인터랙션에서의 감탄사 효과: 자율주행 맥락에서 (The Effect of Interjection in Conversational Interaction with the AI Agent: In the Context of Self-Driving Car)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 자율 주행 차량의 체화된 에이전트가 '감탄사'를 사용하여 감정 표현을 드러낸 대화 상호작용을 할 경우 사용자 경험에 어떠한 효과를 나타내는지 확인하는 것이다. 감탄사 포함 유무와 대화 유형(과제 중심적 대화 vs. 관계 중심적 대화)의 조건에 따라 실험을 설계하였다. 온라인 실험으로 각 조건별로 4가지 대화 시나리오영상을 시청한 후, 해당 에이전트에 대한 친밀도, 호감도, 신뢰도, 사회적 실재감, 지각된 의인화, 향후 이용 의도를 측정하였다. 분석 결과, 에이전트가 감탄사를 사용할 경우 두 대화 유형 모두에서 사회적 실재감의 주 효과가 나타났다. 에이전트가 감탄사를 사용하지 않을 경우 과제 중심적 대화 유형에서 신뢰와 향후 이용 의도가 높았다. 에이전트가 감탄사를 사용하여 감정적 표현을 더하는 것은 사회적 실재감을 높이는 효과는 발견했지만, 다른 사용자 경험 요인에 대한 영향은 나타나지 않았다.

사이버공간 중독유형와 청소년의 사회심리적 환경 (Types of Cyberspace Addiction and Adolescents' Psycho-Social Environment)

  • The present study was to investigate whether Cyberspace addiction groups could be classified into types and examine the relationship with types of Cyberspace addiction and adolescents' psychological environment. The findings were as follows: First, adolescents' Cyberspace addiction was analyzed by factor analysis and classified by four different types, which were named as sensation seeking, life interference, time dependency, and psychological dependency. Second, male students experienced more sensation seeking and life interference tendencies than female students who experienced more psychological dependency tendency than male students. High school students experienced more life interference tendency than middle school students. Third, there was relationship with types of adolescents Cyberspace addiction and psychological environment. Adolescents who addicted Cyberspace with sensation seeking were more likely to avoid conversation with families, and had a tendency of compulsiveness and depression. Adolescents who addicted Cyberspace with life interference had a tendency of compulsiveness and depression, and had a problem of school life and family relationship. Adolescents who addicted Cyberspace with time dependency showed the compulsiveness and avoided conversation with families. Adolescents who addicted Cyberspace with psychological dependency were more likely to have peer relationship and had a tendency of depression. Conclusively, the psycho-social environment such as compulsiveness, depression, family and peer relationship, and school environment was related to types of adolescents' Cyberspace addiction more or less.

노인의 우울증과 여가활동의 상관성에 관한 연구 - 대구시 북구를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Correlation between the Types of Leisure Activity and Depression in the Elderly - in Bukgu District, Daegu City -)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the correlation between the types of leisure activity and Korean form of geriatric depression score in the elderly. Methods: We surveyed elderly (>60 years old) people who participated in leisure activities using interviews in Bukgu district, Daegu city. Data collection was performed from 1 - 31 May, 2008. The data was analyzed with SPSS 12.0 program, which was used for descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation analysis. Results: Common leisure activities scored 'often' and 'very often' were family conversations, offspring visiting, eating out, plant cultivation, entertainment, conversation, walking or jogging, and TV or radio. It was investigated at the rate of 19.2% in the moderate depression and 8.3% in the severely depression. Depression positively associated with newspaper or magazine, family conversation, offspring visiting, social service, movie & theater, exercise and tour. Conclusion: Most elderly people surveyed indicated they were depressed, which should recommend significant leisure activities for elderly to reduce depression in Bukgu district, Daegu city.

Japanese Political Interviews: The Integration of Conversation Analysis and Facial Expression Analysis

  • This paper considers Japanese political interviews to integrate conversation and facial expression analysis. The behaviors of political leaders will be disclosed by analyzing questions and responses by using the turn-taking system in conversation analysis. Additionally, audiences who cannot understand verbal expressions alone will understand the psychology of political leaders by analyzing their facial expressions. Integral analyses promote understanding of the types of facial and verbal expressions of politicians and their effect on public opinion. Politicians have unique techniques to convince people. If people do not know these techniques and ways of various expressions, they will become confused, and politics may fall into populism as a result. To avoid this, a complete understanding of verbal and non-verbal behaviors is needed. This paper presents two analyses. The first analysis is a qualitative analysis that deals with Prime Minister Shinzō Abe and shows that differences between words and happy facial expressions occur. That result indicates that Abe expresses disgusted facial expressions when faced with the same question from an interviewer. The second is a quantitative multiple regression analysis where the dependent variables are six facial expressions: happy, sad, angry, surprised, scared, and disgusted. The independent variable is when politicians have a threat to face. Political interviews that directly inform audiences are used as a tool by politicians. Those interviews play an important role in modelling public opinion. The audience watches political interviews, and these mold support to the party. Watching political interviews contributes to the decision to support the political party when they vote in a coming election.

대화 패턴 연구를 통한 스마트TV 음성 상호작용 모델의 탐구 (Examination of a Voice Interaction Model for Smart TV through Conversation Patterns)

  • 최근의 스마트 기기들은 사용자의 의도와 사용 맥락을 반영하는 지능형 에이전트의 형태로 발전하고 있으며, 기능을 더 쉽고 편리하게 활용할 수 있는 사용자 경험 설계가 경쟁력의 핵심이 되고 있다. 본 연구는 인간중심의 내추럴 인터랙션이 최적의 스마트TV 경험에 필수적이라는 전제하에 TV에 특화된 음성 인터랙션 방식을 탐구하고자 하였다. 사용자가 자연스러운 행태로 TV를 조작하는 모델을 구축하기 위하여 스마트TV의 주요 기능을 지능형 에이전트에 명령하도록 하였고 대화 패턴을 수집하였다. 수집된 문장은 CfA 모델에 대입하여 기능 실행을 위한 반응 별로 분류하였다. 분류된 5가지 대화 패턴은 스마트TV가 실행하는 기능 특성에 따라 '기능 실행'과 '정보 검색'으로 나눌 수 있었다. 사용자와 TV간의 음성 상호작용에서 모호한 요청의 경우 재확인을 위한 CfC1이 발생하고, 복합 의도나 조건부 요청에 대한 대응이 필요한 경우는 CfC2가 발생한다는 부분도 확인하였다. 본 연구의 결론은 스마트TV에서의 음성 UI 설계에서 Simple Request Type이 가장 효율적 모델이라는 점과 대화형 인터랙션은 가능한 사용자의 모호한 요청을 구체화하기 위한 단계에서만 활용되는 것이 적합하다는 것이다.
