Convergence Analysis of LU Scheme for the Euler Equations on Unstructured Meshes

  • The convergence characteristics of the LV scheme for the Euler equations have been investigated by using the Von Neumann stability analysis. The results indicated that the convergence rate is governed by a specific combination of CFD parameters. Based on this insight, it is shown that the convergence characteristics of the LV scheme is not deteriorated at any grid aspect-ratio as long as the local time step is defined based on the parameter combination. The numerical results demonstrated that this time step definition provide a uniform convergence for grid aspect-ratios between one to$1{\times}10^{4}$.

  • In a future society where cutting-edge science technology such as artificial intelligence becomes commonplace, the demand for talented people with basic knowledge of mathematics and science is expected to increase continuously, and the educational infrastructure suitable for the characteristics of future generations is still insufficient. In particular, in the case of students taking convergence courses including practical training, there was a problem in communication with the instructor. In this study, we looked at the current status of distance learning at domestic universities that came suddenly due to the global pandemic of COVID-19. In addition, a case study of the use of technology was conducted to facilitate the interaction between instructors and learners through case analysis of distance classes in convergence subjects. Therefore, this study aims to introduce the case of developing lecture contents for smooth convergence education in a non-face-to-face educational environment targeting the developed AI convergence courses and applying them to the education of enrolled students.

복합재료용 흑연/종이 센서의 최적제조조건 및 감지능 평가 연구 (A New Study of Sensing and Optimum Preparation Conditions of Graphite/Different Paper Sensors for Composite Materials)

  • 종이에 연필을 이용하여 선을 그리는 연필 선 종이 센서(pencil drawing paper sensor, PDPS)를 센서로 활용하기 위한 연구를 수행하였다. PDPS의 특성에 기반을 두는 3가지 다른 종이에 대한 감지 효과를 비교하였다. 시편은 4B 연필을 평지(A4), 화선지, 한지에 선을 그어 제작하였으며 구리선과 연필 선간의 전기 접점을 향상시키기 위해 실버 페이스트를 사용하였다. FT-IR 스펙트럼 분석으로 PDPS에 대한 3 종이의 화학적 구조가 유사하고 광학현미경으로 각 종이의 조밀도를 비교하였다. 3 종이의 인장 강도의 통계적 평가로부터, A4가 PDPS에 가장 적합하다는 것을 확인하였다. 선을 그린 횟수에 따른 종이의 두께 변화를 통해 그리는 횟수의 최적 조건을 확인하였으며 복합재료의 반복 압축 실험을 통해 압축력의 변화를 PDPS로 관측하였다. PDPS를 이용하여 복합재료의 기계적 물성을 비교적 예측할 수 있었다.

확장 작업업영역을 갖는 고속 3자유도 하이브리드 로봇 개발 (Development of a Novel 3-DOF Hybrid Robot with Enlarged Workspace)

  • In this paper, a novel 3-DOF hybrid robot with enlarged workspace is presented for high speed applications. The 3-DOF hybrid robot is made up of one linear actuator and 2-DOF planar parallel robot in series. The actuation consists of one ball-screw to make one linear motion and two rotary ball-screws to transmit rotational motion to 2-DOF parallel robot. The workspace can be enlarged according to ball-screw stroke and the moving inertia can be reduced due to locating all the heavy actuators at the fixed base. The inverse kinematics and workspace analyses are presented. The robot prototype and PC-based control system are developed.

  • In active noise control filter, LMS algorithms which used for control filter, assure the convergence property, and computational burden of these algorithms are proportionate to the filter taps. The convergence speed of LMS algorithms is mainly determined by value of the convergence coefficient, so optimal selection of the value of convergence coefficient is very important. In this paper, We proposed novel adaptive fuzzy logic LMS algorithms with FIR filter structure which has better convergence speed and less computational burden than conventional LMS algorithms, for single channel active noise control with ill conditioned signal case. Computer simulations were performed to show the effectiveness of a proposed algorithms.

P2P Network Simulation System for Performance Evaluation in Convergence Networks

  • P2P(peer to Peer) network is a distributed network architecture composed of participants that make a portion of their resources directly available to other network participants, without the need for a central server. Currently, convergence network industry using wired and mobile are grows rapidly. So P2P protocols will be used between mobile and wired network. But current P2P protocols are focused on the wired networks only and there are no simulators for performance analysis of mobile P2P. In this paper, we design a P2P simulation system for performance analysis of P2P protocols in mobile, wired and convergence networks. It is constructed by a well-known mobile network simulator and wired based P2P protocol simulator. Finally we have implemented a smart TV test-bed using our P2P test-bed for convergence networks.

  • This study evaluated the fatigue limit depending on microcracks using 0.57 wt.% carbon steel with different Vickers hardness. The fatigue limit was almost constant up to a certain limit regardless of the carbon content. However, the fatigue limit decreased rapidly as the size of the crack increased. As the crack aspect ratio was smaller, the fatigue limit of the depth (point A) a lot decreased. The fatigue limit ratio of the depth decreased significantly because the crack propagation in the depth direction was fast as the crack aspect ratio became smaller. On the other hand, the fatigue limit ratio of surface cracks increased as the crack aspect ratio decreased.

융합 공학교육을 위한 마이크로 디그리 도입 (Micro Degree for Convergence Engineering Education)

  • The purpose of this study is to discuss how to introduce micro degree for innovation in convergence education in our university. To this end, the background of the introduction of micro and nano degrees and domestic and foreign applications were reviewed. The reason why the rate of students completing the multi-degree was low was that the credits required for graduation were higher than that of other domestic universities, and the difficulty of the courses offered in the convergence major did not match the students. In order to reduce the burden of students learning convergence subjects while acquiring new knowledge and skills, the introduction of a micro degree is considered to be an alternative to the current convergence education.

능동 소음 제어를 위한 Filtered-x 최소 평균 네제곱 알고리듬의 수렴분석 (Convergence of the Filtered-x Least Mean Fourth Algorithm for Active Noise Control)

  • In this paper, we drove the filtered-x least mean fourth (FXLMF) algorithm where the error raised to the power of four is minimized and analyzed its convergence behavior for a multiple sinusoidal acoustic noise and Gaussian measurement noise. The application of the FXLMF adaptive filter to active noise control requires to estimate the transfer characteristics of the acoustic path between the output and the error signal of the adaptive controller. The results of the convergence analysis of the FXLMF algorithm indicate that the effects of the parameter estimation inaccuracy on the convergence behavior of the algorithm are characterized by two distinct components phase estimation error and estimated gain. In particular, the convergence is shown to be strongly affected by the accuracy of the phase response estimate. Also, we newly show that the convergence behavior can differ depending on the relative sizes of the Gaussian noise and the convergence constant.

  • As the limitation of the existing convergence is pointed out, technology-humanities convergence which highlights the enhancement of the quality of life of humans, is focused as a solution to facilitate sustainable technological innovation. Technology-humanities convergence has already occurred in various industries, of which a considerable number of successful cases can be noted. However, few efforts have been made to investigate technologyhumanities convergence as an independent academic field. Therefore, this paper aimed to identify the status of technology-humanities convergence. To do this, first, a definition of technology-humanities convergence was proposed. Second, based on Maslow's theory, the types of human needs and related key words were extracted. Third, patents related to human needs were collected from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (2000~2014). Fourth and last, the status of technology-humanities convergence was analyzed in terms of "convergence trends" and "convergence areas." This research is expected to promote more creative and human-centered performances of innovation as well as to support decision-making when the innovation strategy-as attempted by the quantitative analysis of technology-humanities convergence in the perspective of sustainable competitiveness-is established.
