  • Grid is a infrastructure to connect heterogeneous resources that are scattered over areas with high-speed network and to cooperate with each other. To carry out Grid application, first, network resources should be managed, since the network has to be safe and reliable. GMA suggests an effective architecture for monitoring of resources that are scattered over a wide area. In this paper, basing on GMA, Grid network management system based on web for practical and general network management is designed. Grid network management system has to operate and connect various distributed management system. Using LDAP authentication, as one access system, Grid network management system maintain stability.

  • This study aims at the development of the techniques for the rainfall forecasting in river basins by applying neural network theory and compared with results of Multivariate Model (MVM). This study forecasts rainfall and compares with a observed values in the San Chung gauging stations of Nakdong river basin for the rainfall forecasting of river basin by proposed Neural Network Model(NNM). For it, a multi-layer Neural Network is constructed to forecast rainfall. The neural network learns continuous-valued input and output data. The result of rainfall forecasting by the Neural Network Model is superior to the results of Multivariate Model for rainfall forecasting in the river basin. So I think that the Neural Network Model is able to be much more reliable in the rainfall forecasting.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to analyze the technology convergence and its characteristics, focusing on the defense technologies in South Korea. Methods: Patents applied by the Agency for Defense Development (ADD) during 1979~2019 were utilized in this paper. Information Entropy analysis has been conducted on the patents to analyze the usability and potential for development. To analyze the trend of technology convergence in defense technologies, Social Network Analysis(SNA) and Association Rule Mining Analysis were applied to the co-occurrence networks of International Patent Classification (IPC) codes. Results: The results show that sensor, communication, and aviation technologies played a key role in recent development of defense science and technology. The co-occurrence network analysis also showed that the convergence has gradually enhanced over time, and the convergence between different technology sectors largely emerged, showing that the convergence has been diversified. Conclusion: By analyzing the patents of the defense technologies during the last 30 years, this study presents the comprehensive perspectives on trends and characteristics of technology convergence in defense industry. The results of this study are expected to be used as a guideline for decision making in the government's R&D policies in defence industry.

  • Prior research regarding the macro patterns of industry convergence has focused on the inter-industry patent network and cross-industry movements of products or services. This article provides a novel approach, according to which human resources embodying explicit and implicit knowledge and technologies are important media driving industry convergence. Drawing on GOMS data (2015-2019) and using information of university graduates' academic majors and their occupations, this article proposes an analytic strategy by which to understand the macro patterns and structural features of industry convergence. Specifically, we build unbalanced bipartite networks of major-industry (occupation) relations, and construct the measures of the industry's niche width and the measure of the average degree of convergence of majors that each industry is linked to. By crossing the two measures, we identify four groups of industries(occupations); specialist, generalist, partial convergence, and full convergence. The convergence group is composed of industries (occupations) that acquire human resources from a number of academic majors each of which plays a role of glue connecting several local industries.

  • In the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, it is important for companies to understand the changing environment by converging various technologies and to respond to the changing business environment. In this study, we conducted a social network analysis on 10 firms in the automotive industry, which have recently been accelerating their competition for technology development, by extracting convergence patents co-classified in two or more of the US registered patents in the last 6 years. As a result, it has been confirmed that the number of technology related to the convergence of the automotive field is greatly increasing, and the convergence between the technologies is becoming stronger. In addition, Volkswagen, Ford and Hyundai showed significant changes in technology convergence. They were analyzed as having a change in strategy in eco-friendly automotive technologies. This study suggests various ways for companies to utilize the results of network analysis more meaningfully.

  • The authors investigate the convergence speed problem of nonlinear adaptive equalization. Convergence constraints and time constant of radial basis function network using stochastic gradient (RBF-SG) algorithm is analyzed and a method of making time constant independent of hidden-node output power by using sample-by-sample node output power estimation is derived. The method for estimating the node power is to use a single-pole low-pass filter. It is shown by simulation that the proposed algorithm gives faster convergence and lower minimum MSE than the RBF-SG algorithm.

  • We obtain a solution of inverse kinematic of 3 axis manipulator by using a self-organizing neral network(SONN) with a fuzzy compensator. The self-organizing neural network using the gaussian potential function as the activation function has one hidden layer in the first learning time. The network obtains the optimal number of node by increasing the number of hidden layer node through the learning, and the fuzzy compensator has the optimal loaming rate of neutral network. In this results, we can confirmed that the learning rate is improved and the rapid convergence to the steady-state.

  • In this paper, we propose the enhanced network-based mobility management protocol, called enhanced proxy mobile ipv6 (E-PMIPv6), which can provide mobile nodes (MNs) with a fast and efficient mobility service in PMIPv6 domain. The proposed scheme can provide a fast and efficient mobility service to MNs and also the strength of network scalability and stability to an access network by proposing the dynamic virtual hierarchical network architecture. In addition, the pre-authentication procedure for an MN, based on the information of neighbor mobile access gateway (MAG) list in the enhanced-policy server (E-PS), is proposed to support seamless handover by reducing MN's handover latency. Through performance evaluations of numerical analyses and simulations, we have confirmed and verified the superiority of the proposed scheme compared to the conventional proxy mobile ipv6 (PMIPv6).

  • Recently broadband convergence network technology is emerging as an integrated network of telecommunication, broadcasting and Internet. But there are various threats as side effects against the growth of information technology, and malicious codes such af Internet worms may bring about confusions to upset a national backbone network. In this paper, we survey the traditional spreading models and propose a new worm spreading model on Internet environment. We also analyze the spreading effects due to tile spread period and the response period of Internet worms. The proposed model leads to a better prediction of the scale and speed of worm spreading. It can be applied to high-speed network such as broadband convergence network.
