급수압 변화에 따른 대변기와 세면기의 급배수 소음 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Noise Characteristics of Water Supply and Drain Installations Varied with Water Suppling Pressure in Apartment Bathroom)

  • This study aims to evaluate noise emission from water supply and drain installations in apartment bathroom. These noise were one of the most annoying noise sources in apartment houses. Especially, drain plumbing system have used bellow bathroom ceiling, it was very discomfort to hear the noise in bellow apartment. Noise of closets and faucets were measured which were main noise source, then these noise were evaluate and analyzed the emitting characteristics varying the supplying water pressure. As increasing the water pressure, also total noise level of the water supplying stool noise and faucet noise were increased. Especially the water closet showed remarkably the increasing noise level in middle and high frequency bandwidth, while the noise level of faucets increased in $50\;Hz{\sim}250\;Hz$ of low frequency bandwidth. Vortex closet were favorable to syphon closet, and lever faucet were favorable to conventional lavatory faucet on reducing the noise. Above these results could be used in basic data establishing KS (Korean Standard) for evaluation and rating procedure and measures reducing these noise.

단기 물 수요예측 시뮬레이터 개발과 예측 알고리즘 성능평가 (Development of Water Demand Forecasting Simulator and Performance Evaluation)

  • Generally, treated water or raw water is transported into storage reservoirs which are receiving facilities of local governments from multi-regional water supply systems. A water supply control and operation center is operated not only to manage the water facilities more economically and efficiently but also to mitigate the shortage of water resources due to the increase in water consumption. To achieve the goal, important information such as the flow-rate in the systems, water levels of storage reservoirs or tanks, and pump-operation schedule should be considered based on the resonable water demand forecasting. However, it is difficult to acquire the pattern of water demand used in local government, since the operating information is not shared between multi-regional and local water systems. The pattern of water demand is irregular and unpredictable. Also, additional changes such as an abrupt accident and frequent changes of electric power rates could occur. Consequently, it is not easy to forecast accurate water demands. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce a short-term water demands forecasting and to develop an application of the forecasting models. In this study, the forecasting simulator for water demand is developed based on mathematical and neural network methods as linear and non-linear models to implement the optimal water demands forecasting. It is shown that MLP(Multi-Layered Perceptron) and ANFIS(Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference System) can be applied to obtain better forecasting results in multi-regional water supply systems with a large scale and local water supply systems with small or medium scale than conventional methods, respectively.

Mornitoring and Identification of Human Astrovirus from Groundwater in Korea Based on Highly Sensitive RT-nested PCR Primer Sets

  • Human Astrovirus (HuAstV) is an important gastrointestinal pathogen that is frequently reported worldwide. Monitoring of contaminated groundwater has been suggested since HuAstV is transmitted through the fecal-oral route. This study developed a test method based on conventional reverse transcription (RT)-nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR) that involves SL® non-specific reaction inhibitor for unknown non-specific amplification taking place in the groundwater environment. An optimal method for detecting HuAstV in groundwater sample through analysis and comparison against conventionally reported method was also suggested. The developed method enabled the production of nested PCR amplicon of 630 nt, which is a sufficient length for similarity analysis based on sequencing and genotyping. Amplicons suspected to be HuAstV were amplified in two out of the twenty groundwater samples collected in Korea, presenting 99.77% and 99.73% similarity against HuAstV 1 strain lhar/2011/kor (JN887820.1) in sequencing, respectively. These amplicons were identified as HuAstV 1.

Application of Subirrigation Using Capillary Wick System to Pot Production

  • Alternative subirrigation way, capillary wick system (CWS) was tested to reduce labor cost, waste water, contamination of ground water, and use of fungicide compared to overhead irrigation system (OIS). CWS helped reduce remarkably the working hours for watering from 4 hours in OSI to just 5 minutes. Labor cost was saved 98% in CWS compared to OIS. By the physical characteristics of various growing media, 1 coconut coir+2 perlite (v/v) mixture was selected because it had an ideal distribution of three phase, e.g. 1 solid: 1 liquid: 2 gas phase. Medium mixture containing scoria had so high bulk and particle density to hurt root. In bark-containing medium, the liquid phase and the percent saturation of liquid phase with time elapsed was lower than that of other mixture. It meant that the mixture contained very low level of water. Application of CWS for cyclamen pot production played an important role in reducing the incident of fusarium wilt symptom from 18% in conventional over watering system to 4%. Cyclamen pot irrigated by capillary wick had shorter petiole and more leaves than those by overhead watering. As a result, this system was highly beneficial to get uniform pot products with high quality. It improved water and nutrient solution efficiency relative to conventional overhead irrigation system (OIS).

  • 댐에 의해 형성된 저수지는 수자원이 시간적, 공간적으로 편중되는 문제를 극복하기 위해 이용되는 대표적인 수단으로 특히, 용수공급이라는 역할에서 매우 중요하다. 앞으로 수자원 이용 수준이 더욱 고도화 될 것으로 볼 때 이러한 댐의 용수공급에 대한 역할은 더욱 증가할 것으로 보인다. 수자원의 확보를 위한 새로운 댐의 건설이나 기존 댐의 효율적 운영방안에 대한 연구는 지속적으로 이루어져야 하며, 저수지는 그 예비 설계단계에서 공급 가능한 수량을 평가하고 필요한 저수지의 규모를 결정할 필요가 있다. 이 경우 수심측량이 필요하게 되며 수심측량에는 여러 방법이 있으나 근래에는 음향측심기에 의한 방법이 많이 사용된다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 신규 댐 건설 또는 기존 댐의 용량증대를 위한 설계에서 이용될 수 있는 저수지 용량 결정을 위한 내용적 측량의 기법을 기존의 측량기법에서 탈피하여 GPS와 음향측심기의 조합에 의해 3차원적 위치 데이터를 취득할 수 있는 방법을 적용함으로써 기존측량과 비교하여 단시간에 측량자료를 취득할 수 있고, 정확도 향상에 기여할 수 있는 방법을 제시하였다.

산란계에 적용 가능한 공기-물 히트펌프의 음용수 공급시스템 이용기술에 관한 연구 (Study on the Utilization of Drinking Water Supply System of Air-water Heat Pumps Applicable to Laying Hen)

  • The drinking water supply system applicable to the laying hen consists of air-water heat pumps, drinking water tanks, heat stroage tank, circulation pumps, PE pipes, nipples, and control panels. When the heat pump system has power of 7.7 to 8.7 kW per hour, the performance coefficient is between 3.1 and 3.5. The supply temperature from the heat pump to the heat stroage tank was stabilized at about $12{\pm}1^{\circ}C$, but the return temperature showed a variation of from 8 to $14^{\circ}C$. Stratified temperature in the storage tank appeared at $12.^{\circ}C$, $13.5^{\circ}C$ and $14.4^{\circ}C$, respectively. The drinking water supply temperature remained set at $15^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$, and the conventional tap water showed a variation for $23^{\circ}C$ to $30^{\circ}C$. As chickens grow older, the amount of food intake and drinking water increased. $y=-0.0563x^2+4.7383x+8.743$, $R^2=0.98$ and the feed intake showed $y=-0.1013x^2+8.5611x$. In the future, further studies will need to figure out the cooling effect on heat stress of livestock.

가스내장 히트파이프의 냉시동특성과 성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Chilling Start-up Characteristics and Performance of a Gas Loaded Heat Pipe)

  • Considering heat pipe design principles in fabrication and operational performances, water is one of the most recommended working fluids to make mid to low tempera lure heat pipes. But the conventional water heat pipes might encounter the failure in a cold start-up operation when socked at a chilling temperature lower than the freezing point. If they are subjected to a heat supply for start-up at a temperature around $-20^{\circ}C$, the rate of the vapor flow and the corresponding heat transfer from the evaporator to the condenser is so small that the vapor keeps to stick on the surface of the chilling condenser wall, forming an ice layer, resulting in a liquid deficiency in the evaporator. This kind of problems was resolved by Kang et al. in 2004 by adopting a gas loading heat pipe technology to the conventional water heat pipes. This study was conducted to examine a chilling start-up procedure of gas loading heat pipes by investigating the behaviors of heat pipe wall temperatures. And the thermal resistance of the gas loaded heat pipe that depends on the operating temperatures and heat loads was measured and examined. Two water heat pipes were designed and fabricated for the comparison of performances, one conventional and the other loaded with $N_2$ gas. They were put on start-up test at a heat supply of 30 W after having been socked at an initial temperature around $-20^{\circ}C$. It was observed that the gas loaded one had succeeded in chilling start-up operation.

대규모 시설에서 이용가능한 미활용 에너지의 부존량과 그 이용 가능성에 관한 조사연구-하천수.해수.하수처리수를 중심으로 (An Estimation of Quantity of Unused Energy of River Water, Seawater and Treated Sewage as Heat Source and Its Availability in Large Facilities)

  • While the demand for energy has shown a sharp increase recently, the supply seems to be limited by the fact that the conventional fossil fuel energy or nuclear energy has its own environmental problems such as, for example, global warming or nuclear waste disposal. To overcome such limited supply of energy, the utilization of natural thermal energy such as river water and seawater as well as treated sewage can be a substantial supplement. The potential use of the unused energy has become more and more feasible these days as the heat pump technology has been advanced. In the present study, the unused energy resources are estimated on regional and monthly basis for each resource by the method proposed here in order to establish the fundamental data for its utilization. The potential use of the unused energy is a1so discussed.

무선센서 네트워크를 활용한 화초 수분관리 시스템 (Flower water management system by wireless sensor network)

  • 본 논문에서는 기존에 관리자가 화초가 자라는 토양에 함유된 수분의 양을 측정하여 물 공급시기를 판단하고, 그에 따라 필요시 수동으로 물을 공급해 주던 방식의 문제점을 개선하고자 제안하는 방법이다. 제안하는 시스템은 센서노드와 관리용 호스트 컴퓨터가 무선센서 네트워크로 연결된다. 계측시스템은 센서노드에 연결된 습도센서를 사용해서 흙속에 존재하는 수분의 양을 측정한다. 제어시스템은 수분의 양이 설정 값 이하로 떨어지면 솔레노이드 스위치를 제어해서 물 공급 시스템의 밸브를 자동으로 열어 일정한 수분이 공급되게 한다.

  • 이수목적 수량관리를 위한 보장수량과 수력발전 등을 고려한 최적화 기법은 이상가뭄 또는 특이 수문년을 포함하는 경우에는 적용에 한계가 있다. 이러한 관점에서 Hashimoto 등(1982)에 의해 제안된 물부족에 관련된 3가지 평가기준을 혼합정수계획법을 통해 최적화모형에 반영하기 위한 Moy 등(1986)과 Srinivasan 등(1999)에 의해 제시된 바 있다. 그러나 이들 연구는 용수공급용 단일 저수지에 대해 한정되어 발전을 포함하는 다목적댐에 적용할 수 있는 정식화 연구는 부진한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 다목적댐의 용수공급 및 수력발전 최적화 문제에 위험도 평가기준을 도입하여 운영평가를 위한 정식화 형태를 개선하였으며, 개선된 모형을 금강수계 대청다목적댐에 적용하여 그 실효성을 평가하였다.
